Summary: This horror classic has it all
Review: I loved this film from the very first time I saw it, and God only knows how many times I have seen it. It has everything a classic horror should have. I love this film so much that I have two copies of it. The original version, and the new edition version. This film also has a great sound track and film score that most italian horror films do not. I don't care what anyone says, the special effects in this film rock. By the way, if you couldn't figure it out by now, this film is dubbed because it was originally released in a difforent country. That's what also makes some of the acting look a little bad.

Summary: Extremely well-crafted Italian horror
Review: DEMONS is an exceptional example of the best work of Lamberto Bava and Dario Argento. Better directed than any of Bava's other efforts and not so obtuse as many of Argento's films, DEMONS is a tight film, simple in concept, and genuinely terrifying.

DEMONS revolves around a simple, standard zombie film plot; a group of people are trapped in an enclosed space with one who has become a zombie (or demon) and fight to stay alive as more and more of them are infected. This film effectively marries surprise scares (you know - when someone jumps out when you least expect it) and pure gore. There's plenty of the latter, being an Argento production, but the whole thing is so over the top that it's all in good fun.

The film comes dangerously close to camp toward the end as the protagonists are blessed with a ridiculous turn of events that help them to avoid certain death, and it's hard for the viewer to keep from asking obvious questions like "how did that helicopter crash through the roof intact?" and "how does he know how that helicopter operates?" and "where did the grappling hook and climbing gear come from?"

The end of the film, however, redeems any of its weaknesses as it keeps with the zombie film tradition of genuine hopelessness. Overall, a very well made film considering its foreign origins and the general quality of other horror films in the mid-80s.

Summary: Fine Italian Horror
Review: As a big fan of zombie movies, such as George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead series, I enjoyed "Demons" a great deal. You don't see horror movies of this caliber in today's cinema. This movie has it all, from suspense and gore, to pimps and some old guy who keeps telling other people in the movies to shut up. The special effects are great as is the music. It features "white wedding" from Billy Idol, and the theme from the movie is some italian guy playing new wave music yelling "demon!" If you like real deal horror movies...check out Demons.

Summary: Why was the movie dubbed?
Review: This movie was a real let down. The characters were not even talking themselves. It looked tacky and unprofessional. I have to admit the gore was pretty foul. Made me feel a bid queasy. But apart from that it was ruined by the fact that it was dubbed. Good story though!

Summary: One of the best horror movies ever
Review: This is one of my favorite movies that I've see. It has ZOMBIES and DEMONS and STUFF. It has a good amount of gore and some pretty good special effects for this type of movie. So if your looking for a good horror movie go with this one you can't go wrong with it.

Summary: Stylelized Bava Classic
Review: I had to give it four stars for the soundtrack and direction alone. Very interesting film, visually very stunning, the plot and story are crummy. With a cameo by Michelle Soavi as the man in the mask that gives the ticket away, you know Argento and Italian cinema fans will have something juicy to bite into. The SP-EFX are incredible, taking ito account it was made in the mid eighties on a meger budget. Slow paced and oddly ended, the film has many aspects that shine through despite some minor problems. Worth having for your collection if you dig Italian cinema, Bava, Argento, or just good ol' demon/zombie films!

Summary: nerve-recking, sitting at the edge of your seat horror flick
Review: I have seen many horror fims, and I think that this one was one of the best ones I have ever seen. Yeah, maybe the plot was a little messed up,but the make-up and sounds of the DEMONS, were fantastic! I think that if it were to be done again, in the 90's that it would be a huge success!!! All the movie really needs is a little work on the plot and story line. It is a movie that only certain people can watch more then about 3 times, before you get tired of it. Overall it was a great flick, and I think it should of got more recognition than what it did. If i could I would do another DEMONS, and this time it would have more plot and story line to it, so it has the whole package. Plus most people seem to overlook that it was made in Italy, which I don't know it that would have a huge effect on the plot and stuff, but it should have some. And Hello, this movie was made in the 80's not a lot of movies, horror anyway, have a lot of plot or story line to it from then. OVerall it was a great horror movie, that definately had me scared the first time I saw it, and I have seen a lot,so it must of been good! I rate it as my #1 horror movie of all time!!!!!!!

Summary: Well Done for an 80's horror film, but doesn't go anywhere!
Review: This was a neat film at the start with great music scores by Motley Crue, Billy Idol, Accept with other 80's groups, but most of this film takes place in a movie theatre as demons possess people in the movie theatre as well as on screen. Watching it once is okay, but not for a second time. Frightening stuff though.

Summary: claustrophobic zombie nightmare
Review: my first bava/argento film. it got me pretty nervous at the time (it was 10 years ago. nothing seems to scare me these days.). no plot. lots of gore. the heavy metal music may get on your nerves if your not a fan. real nightmare quality and relentless. don't try to make sense of the logistical flaws, just go with it.

Summary: The worst movie ever made? Perhaps...
Review: I viewed this film after hearing tons of praise for it from many horror fans. Let's just say that, had it not been for the fact that I rented the classic horror film Black Christmas on the very same night, I would have been banned by my friends from picking rental choices from then on. This movie is an out and out mess from beginning to end! This movie had to have had one of the worst screenplays ever written, complete with terrible dialogue and events that are just impossible for me to suspend my disbelief. (If you're wondering what I'm talking about, you'll know when you see the miraculous happenning in the movie's climax.) I can't believe Dario Argento allowed his name to be put on this film. If I were him, I would treat this movie like the deformed son that gets chained up in the basment.
