Summary: this is the one
Review: this is the horror movie that set it all. after this one a couple of sequals to help and the release of friday the 13th, all the 80's horror flicks tried to take on the impact of the original halloween, halloween is the one that set it all yes the classic texas chainsaw massacre did come out some 4 years earlier but no horrow films were released of the slasher kind the only horror movies that were released were inspired and took on The Exorcist. the 70's was the demon and evil era the 80's was the slasher era the early 90's was the drama era and the late 90's starting with 1996 started the slasher flick and sci fi era again thanks to the release of Scream for the slashers. when halloween came out it was the most successful independent film making more than 50 million at the box office and has stayed the most successful independent film till 1999 when the blair witch project came out and took halloween's place. Halloween- the original slasher flick

Summary: A Horror Classic
Review: This is one of the greatest horror films of all time. First of all this movie is very scary (unless you've seen many horror films). This movie sends good thrills a chilling feeling when you watch. you can rise from the characters and understand them then they die. this movie provides an excellent story and makes you wonder of the ever Michael Myers. I reccomend this to all horror fanatics and people who just like being scared.

Summary: Halloween...
Review: Everyone knows the plot by now and the movie itself is an obvious 5 in my opinion. So, I will review the dvd presentation which is amazing. Just the widescreen alone would have made the dvd well worth the price. I've been so used to the full frame picture of this movie after years and years of repeated viewings that I was just blown away when I popped this in the dvd player for the first time. You really miss a lot of the picture in the full frame format and this is made really apparent on the girls walk home from school. For any crazy people that actually prefer a full frame picture that is also available. The picture and sound are astounding, a total viewing pleasure. The featurette gives some interesting insight on the making of this classic movie as well. You also get trailers, numerous radio and tv spots, and lots of stills. Anchor Bay really got it right with this dvd and Halloween afecionados like myself couldn't be happier. If you call yourself a Halloween fan and don't own this, buy it now!

Summary: Best...scary...film...ever!
Review: Everyone knows the plot by now (and if you don't, you can pick it up from many of the reviews), so I won't go there. I watch this film at least once a year, right around Halloween, naturally. It's amazing that a film made on such a shoestring is still a classic today, but that goes to show you that it's not always about special effects and such. The suspense reaches Hitchcockian levels, and the movie is one of the scariest out there without lots of goop and gore. Watch this movie---but not at night, and definietly not alone!

Summary: BEST psychological thriller of its time
Review: Halloween is a definite classic that should be featured in any movie-lovers personal collection...anyone who thinks otherwise probably lacks the IQ to actually view this movie...the acting is good, the scenes are thrilling, the plot is masterful for the time it was released...CLASSIC...this movie kicks the arse of movies such as Psycho...so many film writers have used this movie as an inspiration to them and will continue to do so forever...enough said...buy this movie or you are definitely missing out

Summary: Michael Myers is the best serial killer EVER!
Review: Halloween is definitely the greatest horror movie ever filmed. It is a classic and to this date, there have been no horror movies that invoke pyschological fear as deeply as Halloween. Michael Myers is unlike any serial killer because he has a determination to kill only specific people...not random teenagers. I recommend this movie highly and I feel that you will also like it as much as I do.

Summary: very WACK
Review: This aint no classic, this is a boring piece of [stuff].
For one thing, the curse of myers and H20 are much better.
This has no gore at all, but I will say that Myers is a scary lookin [dude], but this doesnt compare to any of the friday the 13ths even jason takes manhatton is better than this so please dont waste yo money on this pile of wack.

Summary: Great
Review: This was a great scary movie and is now in this day and age simply because it is an "old" movie. There must be some unwritten law about we can only watch new movies and not old ones. Anyway this movie is very creepy and scary, not as good as Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, but still it is one of the big daddies. This isn't the scariest movie of all, The Exorcist still holds the title, but who knows, one of these "new" horror flicks may actually do it. Buy this one, now! While you're at go and buy the scariest slasher of them all The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

Summary: Horror Classic
Review: In 1978, John Carpenter directed one of the most brilliant horror classics ever made. This small budget film starred one of the first performances given by the wonderful and now immensely popular Jamie Lee Curtis, and was named 'Halloween'. Over twenty years later, this film is still known as one of the best and scariest horror films ever produced.

The plot is very basic, but it manages to be very affective in what it sets out do, which is to scare and petrify its audience. It managed to do so back in 1978, and it still manages to do so today. Michael Myers, who killed his sister when he was just a child, is now older and much smater. He escapes from the mental institution in which he had been kept imprisoned for many years and returns to his small hometown of Haddonfield to wreak havoc on unsuspecting babysitters on Halloween night. The scenes are very eerie and creepy, and the chilling music score makes the movie even more terrifying.

Halloween has become a horror classic, and will remain so for an eternity. Anchor Bay produces an excellent DVD with awesome, eye popping extras. Never before has Halloween been so vividly clear with crystal clear audio. The extras contained are trailers, tv and audio spots, a photo gallery, and a special feature called 'Halloween Unmasked 2000'. This is a must own for any Michael Myers/horror fan.
