Summary: URBAN LEGEND? YEAH RIGHT!
Review: I SAW THIS MOVIE BECAUSE I LIKED THE FIRST AND THE CAST WAS WELL KNOWN. THE SEQUEL HAS A CAST OF UNKNOWNS WHICH SHOULD STAY THAT WAY CONSIDERING THE ACTING WAS JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE IN THE MOVIE. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH URBAN LEGENDS. THE FIRST DEATH HAD PROMISE AND SLOWLY AS THE MOVIE PROGRESSED IT GOT DUMBER AND DUMBER AND THE ENDING WAS JUST AWFUL. THE MOTIVE WAS JUST LIKE IT WAS THOUGHT UP AT THE LAST MINUTE, TO SAVE MONEY MAKING THE FILM. IT WAS DEFINETLY ONE OF THE WORST OF 2000, AND ANYONE WHO PUTS THEIR HARD EARN MONEY TO RENT IT OR BUY IT ON DVD WILL REGRET IT!

Summary: Desperately Seeking... A Plot!
Review: First of all, let me ,ake it clear that »Urban Legends - Final Cut« has nothing to do with »Urban Legend«. The characters are different, and it is in no way a sequel (except for a tiny link when the credits start). In fact, »Urban Legends - Final Cut« has very very little to do with urban legends at all! And this more than takes out the charm of the film. It's cheating marketing, a right out lie!, to give the film this title!

But this annoying fact does not ruin the plot. Because there is no plot to ruin. The story is a mess, nothing fits together. In other words, the script and/or the cut is disasterous. And the acting, too, is very very poor!

Why 2 stars then?, you may ask. Well, »Urban Legends - Final Cut« IS one of the most disgusting films I've seen, and despite the non-existing plot and the extremely bad making of this film, there are in fact one or two pretty good scares in it. Furthermore, there are a few (parodistic?) references to - or dialogues/scenes stolen from - the »Scream« films, »I Know What You Did Last Summer«, and even »Alien«.

Summary: Great Special Features and Good Movie
Review: This sequel is really good. I think it's even better than the first one. Jennifer Morrinson did a good job, and John Ottman directed it well. If you like this kind of movie, just buy it. And the Special Features included on the DVD of "Urban Legends: Final Cut" are very good. Take a look at it.

Summary: It was good!
Review: Why doesn't anybody have anything good to say about this film? The acting was ok, the directing was very good (honestly it was great), and it was quite an original film too. And, for those people who apperently dont know any urban legends, everyone in this film was killed in an urban legend. If you like horror films, watch this and im sure you will enjoy it. If you didnt like it, keep it to yourself and get over it. Its just a movie.

I enjoyed the first film and I think that this one could very easily be better!

Summary: Brilliant
Review: "I got a good story, it's about a campus serial killer who murders eight students" At Pendelton students battle to make the best student film which will win them the Hitchcock award, who ever wins is basicly garenteed a place in Hollywood. Amy is stuck for a movie idea for her collage thesus, so when she gets a ride from the sucurity guard, she also gets and idea, to make a movie about a serial killer who murders are all based on Urban Legends. This seems like a good idea and it gets approved but as soon as she starts she runs into problems, bad acting, other members are pissed at her for stealing their genre, oh and a masked psycho seems to be killing off her cast and crew. It all seems to start when one student kills himself because of his low grade Amy seems to suspect something is wrong, the dead students twin brother also shows up to look into the sueiside more for he is convensed his brother didn't kill himself. Amy's crew seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Compitition is a killer, now it seems as if someone is killing the computition. Lets get something straight, I love slasher movies and I truely enjoy the new breed, Urban Legends is a fantastic entry into trendy slasher movies. I found myself jumping in my seat alot of times, John Ottman really knows how to scare his audence. The deaths where compleatly edge of your seat stuff, I for one loved them. I really enjoyed the amount of suspence there was in this movie, it was great. On to the killer, although he/she looked cool I often found myself thinking that he/she looked like a big walking micro phone, I liked the idea of changing the costume around. I found pretty much all the charicters likeable, they all seemed to have their own personality. One thing that was great was the first death, that has to be the greatest death I've seen so far in a 90s horror movie. The rest of the kills arn't really gruesome but somehow this didn't seem like a gore movie, much more to do with suspence. Over all I truely loved Urban Legends: Final Cut and I advise fans to go see it, it's a must, and if your not a fan of the first, see it anyway, it's like a different series. 10/10

Summary: The Dumbest Movie Of All Time! Doesn't Deserve One Star!
Review: No good acting, terrible direction, no thrills, not one supsense scene, and was the most absolutely easiest horror film to figure out the killer. It was too obvious filled with no good stars and no good performances. Jennifer Morrison is not even that hot! And that guy she bangs looks like a NSYNC back up dancer wannabe that came out of the gutter. This is the most stupidest movie in the entire world! There should a hall for stupid movies and this would be number one!

Summary: Urban Legends: Final Cut... Go and watch it
Review: Many people that have seen this movie have not enjoyed it, but I disagree, as this is still a fresh and entertaining film. It obviously borrows ideas from the Scream/I Know../Halloween type of movies, but that's the whole point of the horror genre in order to notice the references.

The main plot is that a group of students are making various films at their university, and the main character Amy (Jennifer Morrison) decides to make a horror film based on Urban Legends. Things start to go wrong though, when many of her friends begin to be killed.

There is still loads of originality in this movie, and the identity of the killer is only revealed near the end of the film. Many of the death scenes are original and entertaining, and although there isn't a large amount of big stars, two of the original cast make a return.

Comedy is also used in many of the sequences, which is a break from the murder scenes, mainly due to the "movie-within-a-movie" parts.

This film may not be that original, but it's still worth watching despite some bad reviews, as the plot is entertaining, and keeps you guessing the killer until the end due to the suspense used; and the acting by the majority of new actors is also realistic within the movie.

If you haven't seen the film yet, either go to the cinema or wait until the DVD/video release. If you liked other films in the horror genre, then you should enjoy this one. Go and check it out.

Summary: VASTLY SUPERIOR SEQUEL
Review: I was perhaps a little too hard on the first when I reviewed it. When compared to the "I know" movies it seems much better but this sequel rocks.

Although not completely different from all the other teen (?) slasher flicks out there Urban Legend 2 seems to be fresher than I had expected. I was pleasantly surprised.

The whole execution of the plot and the action seems to be a great deal more light-hearted and realistic. The photography and the setting looks very good on the big screen and the lead heroine is easy on the eye. She's way more talented and attractive than other scream queens. Not that I want to typecast her.

The identity of the bad guy was a mystery all the way thru for me and the way John Ottman makes us point the finger at a number of different characters was done whole lot better and way more subtler than Wes Craven. And none of the characters were annoying or irritating as they normally are in this sub-genre.

The humor was also spot-on. There wasn't much I didn't laugh at that I was supposed to and it didn't spoil the intense atmosphere. A certain joke in the mine was good enough for me annoy people with my loud laughing.

They way the film was self-aware and in-jokey without becoming a parody was WAY more convincing and pleasing than any of the Scream movies. And the film students who refer to other movies and movie making was the kind of gimmick Scream 2 and Scream 3 could have benefited from if it were done properly.

The presence of Joey Laurence just made a good movie even better. If you liked or hated the first I seriously do recommend this sequel to you as it way superior. The only gripe would be the lack of Chris Young's original score.

Summary: Absolutely God-Awful
Review: While the original Urban Legend was by no means Oscar-worthy, it looks like a cinema classic compared to this awful sequel. The first problem is the lack of farmiliar faces. There are virtually no well-known actors among the cast, as there were in the first film. This could be forgiven if they could actually act. But as you can see by the other reviews, they can't. Rebecca Gayheart, Jared Leto, Alicia Witt, and Tara Reid could be considered Oscar contenders compared with Jenny Morrison and Joey Lawrence. Another problem is the lack of suspense. You can easily tell when everything is coming. The only word to describe this flick is hideous. John Ottoman should stick to composing and leave the directing to real film makers!!!
