Summary: Legends Never Die
Review: I saw the Urban Legend a couple of years ago, and I only just saw Urban Legends: Final Cut. I thought it was pretty good for a sequel, and you don't NEED to see the first one to get it, just like you don't NEED to see the second one if you've seen the first.
Basic plot line: A girl named Amy has decided to do her College Thesis Film on Urban Legends, after hte idea was planted in her head by security cop Reese, who was one of the survivors from the first, played by Loretta Devine.
After the school's star pupil Travis is found dead, everyone assumes it was suicide. But after Amy and her film crew see soemone else's film, which shows one of the actors in Amy's movie getting horribly stabbed, Amy begins to get a little worried. After seeing her Director of Photography die on CCTV, Amy realises that the movie she had seen was in fact a snuff movie, she and Travis' twin Trevor begin to investigate. Soon, more and more of the crew die and the movie comes to the end, where there is a chilling shot of UL2's killer in a Mental Institution, being pushed in a wheel-chair by the killer from Urban Legend, who of course, was still alive.
The music was excellent, acting average, and some of the dialogue just didn't sound like the language students at a College would use.
Overall, I recommend to see both Urban Legend and Urban Legends: Final Cut, and see which one you like better for yourself.

Review: Any attempt to follow up one of the worst of the post-Scream bunch of smirkingly ironic teen horror flicks, Urban Legend, was going to be viewed with a bit of scepticism. Unsurprisingly, when Urban Legend: Final Cut hit the screens it bombed with most everyone that saw it. And for good reason. Why it even carries the title 'Urban Legend' is beyond me, as none of the murders here are based on urban legends. Instead we've got bland lead Amy, a film college student who's in with a shot for the prestigious Hitchcock Award, which virtually guarantees a Hollywood deal. Of course, this is a highly coveted prize and before you can shout 'red herring', there's a whole shoal of them hiding in the shadows or popping out to tell Amy to watch her back.With a truckload of references to other movies, Ottman's directorial debut (and it shows) pretends to be cleverer than it actually is, mostly by referencing more highbrow sources than others of its kind. Unfortunately that doesn't mean it doesn't succumb to a death of boredom and deja-vu. The deaths are unimaginative and a killer in a fencing mask is only marginally better than the parka in the prequel. The acting is also below par, with the exception of Lorretta Devine as the surviving security guard from the original, who is consistently hilarious. There really is nothing to recommend this movie at all actually. It can't even be recommended as being so bad it's good - it's just plain bad. Thankfully there appears to be returning trend towards genuine horror with the likes of The Others and The Ring, but for now it's just hard to accept that in Scream, one of the most original and influential movies in years, influenced all the wrong directors. Urban Legend: Final Cut may not be as appalling as Valentine, but it comes too close for comfort.

Review: I saw this movie when it first came out, and got the DVD as soon as that came out. The movie is very suspensful and cleverly thought out, and I just love the characters. Amy was excellent, and the security guard is really funny. Their scenes together are my favorite. This mixture of characters, the suspense, horror and story line are what make it a great movie. I enjoyed it much more than the origional "Urban Legends". (Not to mention my heart was racing for most of the duration of the movie!)
I think it is much better than the critcs make it out to be, and the added features on the DVD are cool too.

Summary: "Urban Legends... Better be the Final Cut"
Review: This is an incredible, yet terrible sequel to "Urban Legend." How does the story involve urban legends anyway? A filmmaker wants to win an award, but unfortunately her crew is disappearing one-by-one. What an enigma! Not! "Urban Legends: Final Cut" does have one good scene that makes Hannibal Lecter look like a preschooler though. You'll know it when you see the girl in a bathtub full of ice and then she discovers that she's missing something... This movie has Joey Lawrence (TV's "Blossom") and Anthony Anderson (noisy guy from "Romeo Must Die" and "Exit Wounds"). Yes! No! Who is the main star? Nobody cares or should care. Poor film.

Summary: A horror movie within a horror movie
Review: Urban Legends Final Cut is a movie about a movie, basically, and this little twist to the classic horror formula plays out rather well. At the country's most distinguished (albeit weird) film-making school, the Hitchcock Award for best student movie is the ultimate accomplishment, all but guaranteeing the winner a quick jump to a directing chair in Hollywood. The protagonist, Amy, decides to break away from her documentary roots and produce a horror movie, one in which a serial killer patterns his murders on urban legends. When Travis, arguably the school's most gifted student, receives a low grade on his film, he takes his own life. He is only the first character to die. As Amy begins filming her own movie, several of her fellow students are murdered, and eventually the killer comes after her. For the most part, this is standard horror material. The idea of murdering people in the manner of urban legends is pretty cool, although the pattern seems to degrade from this path toward the end. The identity of the killer is not overly shocking, but the producers do a pretty good job of keeping the viewer guessing up until the end. The final scene was a little weird and confusing, but, all in all, the plot held up rather well from beginning to end. In terms of the horror quotient, I would not classify this movie as particularly scary. There is a masked killer chasing people down and killing them, but there's nothing here to make you jump out of your seat. The special effects are pretty good, and there is a nice variety to be found in the manner of the murders (which does include one beheading, which is something no horror film should be without). The movie has its lighter side, as well, obviously not taking itself too seriously. The projected image of the film-making school is basically a parody of itself, and the antics of the two set design students produce some good laughs. The movie could be considered rather Scream-like, but it has enough character of its own to succeed in its own right. The special features on the DVD are both good and bad. The inclusion of seven deleted scenes is nice and provides further insight into the mindset of the characters as well as the story itself. The gag reel contains some funny bloopers and other moments not included in the final print. The "making of featurette" is rather disappointing, however; it does feature some interviews with a good number of cast members, but it provides little insight into the actual making of the movie. All told, this is a better-than-average slasher film, mixing in good acting, great special effects, and an actual storyline that doesn't reveal its most important secrets until the very end. I personally would have liked to see more gore, but the horror lover in me did find much enjoyment in watching this film.

Review: THIS MOVIE WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO AS GOOD AS THE 1998 ORIGINAL ONE. THIS MOVIE IS A REALLY BAD SEQUEL AND I ALMOST FELL ASLEEP, NOT EVEN SCARY, BORING, AND EXACT PLOT AS SCREAM 3! I GIVE IT 2 STARS MOVIEWISE BUT THE EXTRAS LIFT THIS UP A SMALL NOTCH. NOT A HORRIBLE DVD, BUT NOT GOOD EITHER, IT'S JUST ABOUT OK, THE MOVIE ITSELF IS UNDER OK.

Review: I thought the first urban legend was pretty good and scary, but the follow up to is nothing special. There are some more origianl murder sceens in it(one so vile I will never forget it) but unlease your really easly scared don't expect this to be very entertaining. Judging from the plot alone. Urban legends 2 trys to be an all time champ of cleverness, but falls short of that goal. Having the cast from the first one may have helped. Its about a bunch of flim students in flim school. One by one there being picked off in grizzly ways. There's a little more to it then that, but all this movie is, is standerd horror cliques. The murder screens are cleaver and effective, but are so far apart that when your ready to close your eyes and fall asleep another one comes up. One less exiting than the one before it. The screenplay is really bad, because its made up of problems like "You took my boy friend away" or "Your not my freind any more".
Bottom Line: If your looking for a good horror movie, Don't look here.

Review: I love the urban legend movies but sequels are suppost to
be more gorey with the murder scenes. The first one is better
than its sequel, but final cut had it strong points too. I wonder
if theres going to be a third?

Summary: Stupid waste of time
Review: The movie starts out on a plane that seems to have a mad slasher loose on it. The slasher has at least one long knife which was obviously easy to slip through airport security. A lot of the passengers seem to be a college fraternity in high party mode. And of course the best thing two teens can think of when it looks like it's time to cash in their chips is to head for the head for sex, which of course gets interrupted by the slasher. All in all, a bunch of people acting overly stupid in the situation. But wait! These are people only filming a slasher movie. THAT'S why the people were acting stupidly. Real people would never be like that. Well, guess again. The "real" people don't act much better when it comes down to the nitty gritty. Besides general stupidity, and the usual teasing "almost" nudity, what I also didn't like about it are the false scares that turns out to be dreams. For example, our sweet heroine is in the sack with the coincidental twin brother (or is it the original brother) of a student who just died. We see him pull out a knife, plant it in, and guess what, time to wake up. All this does is to throw some extra scares into the movie, plot be damned. You want a great scary movie, see "Jeepers Creepers". Pass on this one.
