Summary: NOTHING BUT A ROUTINE UPDATE OF THE ORIGINAL
Review: YEARS AFTER THE EVENTS IN ''CARRIE'', ANOTHER BULLIED GIRL [EMILY BERGL] UNLEASHES HER TELEKINETHIC POWERS AGAINST HER FELLOW HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO PICK ON HER ALL THE TIME. HAS SOME GOOD ACTING, BUT NOW THEY'VE TAKEN THE CARRIE STORY AND TURNED IT INTO YOUR AVERAGE MODERN-DAY TEENAGE HORROR FLICK. THEY COULD'VE DONE BETTER THAN THIS. FANS OF THE ORIGINAL FILM WILL MOST LIKELY BE DISSAPOINTED WITH THIS SEQUEL.

Summary: so-so sequel...
Review: The sequel to the 1976 film based on Stephen King's novel, "Carrie" seems sort of like a reason to bring back characters who get a gory death. But, it plays reasonably well, with Emily Bergl marginally well playing Rachel, Carrie's half-sister. It seems like a watered-down plot of the original "Carrie," with lots of gratutious sex, nudity, and gore than the first, but it seems to be a sort of shadow to "Carrie," more than a sequel, like Roger Ebert said.

The only good thing about this is that it has Amy Irving reviving her '76 character Ms. Snell, the only main character left living at the movie. What happened to Rachel, well, you'll have to see the movie for yourself...

This is only a movie for star watching (Mena Suvari "American Beauty," Zachary Ty Bryan), die-hard Carrie fans, people who like it because of the nudity and sex in this film and undemanding fans of cheap gore and predictable chills.

Rated R for sexuality/nudity, graphic horror violence and gore, and for language.

Summary: They're all gonna laugh at you...AGAIN!
Review: "The Rage: Carrie 2" serves more like a remake than a sequel to the 1976 original. 23 years after Carrie White killed off most of her senior class when a prank was pulled on her at the prom, a new girl is walking the halls of Bates High School. Her name is Rachel Lang (Emily Bergyl). Little does she know it, but she is the half sister of Carrie (same father, different mother), and she also has telekinetic powers which she uses to her advantage in the end! Luckily, Sue Snell (Amy Irving), one of the few survivors from Carrie's massacre, is a guidance counselor who tries to help Rachel before it's too late. Ok, now for the review. This film is good, it is nowhere near as good as the original, and it is similar, but it does have a few differences while trying to keep up the spirit of it's predecessor. The kids in this are nasty, and although this is bad, I was glad they were killed off, I mean, they deserved it! They didn't care about anyone or anything, as long as their prank humiliated and degraded poor Rachel. Director Katt Shea does well with creating a love story between Rachel and a jock, but she fails to capture the "horror" during the climax. Everything happens too quickly, we see fireplace pokers fly around and hit people and CD's pelting a girl, heads being cut off by flying glass and people being set on fire, but instead of gasping in horror, we laugh. We also get to see some nice scenes of a jock getting something ripped off, although I won't give it away to people who haven't seen the movie. When the rage kicks in though, Shea does manage to display Rachel's sense of shock and disbelief and anger, with fast, up close shots of the main baddies laughing at her, and a distorted picture of the rest of the party laughing hysterically before their demises. Kind of like in the original Carrie, when she thinks they are laughing at her, and she sees distored, blurry circles of her "friends" before letting go of her rage. Anyway, although the two stories are similar, there are differences in tastes, fashions, fads, etc, considering that this film takes place in 1999 while the other takes place in 1976, but this doesn't distract too much from the storyline. The effects and acting are good, and the flashback scenes are really good, put in at just the right moments whenever Rachel has one of her "episodes". One thing, how come no one tore down the old burned out Bates High School????? If you are a die-hard Stephen King fan, rent the original, if you want a different approach to an old story, rent this one.

Summary: THE RAGE: CARRIE 2 can't hold a candle to CARRIE
Review: "The Rage: Carrie 2" is okay, but it drags and gets pretty boring in quite a few places.

It can't hold a candle to the absolutely terrifying, tear-jerking & classic 1976 original, directed by Brian DePalma.

BOTTOM LINE - see the original, don't bother with this sequel! It's dissapointing to say the least...

Summary: Don't measure up!
Review: I thought this sequel was okay but definately not as good as the original. Such classics like Carrie, Amityville, Exorcist, Night of the Living Dead should just remain what they really are....... Classics! Every movie that is considered a classic does not have to be remade just to please and entertain today's short attention spanned generation.

Summary: Not Bad, but I dont wanna own it
Review: I give the movie 2 and a half stars, it was better then I expected and I enjoyed it. But there where a lot of things I thought should have been explained better or fixed up.

Of coarse this is a sequl to Carrie, sort of.... it's not exactly CARRIE PART 2.. this story is about Carrie Whites sister Rachel. Her father was Carries father and she has inhereted the same genes Carrie had, altho the movie does not explain that too well! If I hadnt have seen the original I wouldnt have even known that Rachel was supposed to have Telekineses, i probably would have thought she had ghosts haunting her.

And the other thing I thought needed improvment was the ending, it should have been more drawn out, and maybe set up a bit better, it probbaly would have been a good idea to set up the fact that when Rachel gets angry she cant conseal it, and her tattoo probably should have boiled in previous parts of the movie and she almost goes off the deep end or something till she finally does... but apart from that, the sotry about Rachel loosing her best friend and why, and a bit on her life to the day she explodes in rage is a simmeler story to Carrie, but updated for modern day audiences, and titled part 2 to a classic horror flick.

The bonus features are not worth checking out really, theres audio commentary if your interested, a few boring deleted scenes, and dont be fooled by the bit that says ALTERNETE ENDING, it's the end of the VERY LAST SCENE, I thought it was an alternate take to how Carrie died, or at least something from the party. But its the end-end bit thats slapped in there for no reason... in the movie it shows her boyfreind and her and she does something (you'll have to watch so I dont spoil it for ya) but in the alternate version they show what they original tried to do with CGI, but even the director said, "it looks cool, but would not have made any sense" ... NOTE: the bit they did put in doesnt make any sense either!

Summary: CARRIED AWAY
Review: In CARRIE, Brian dePalma's classic, Carrie was the daughter of a very disturbed woman, and her torture by classmates came at times of innocence: her first period, for instance. Their cruelty was so intolerable because they didn't recognize the problems of this telekinetic young girl. Then when at the prom, she finds out how they have deceived and humiliated her, her wrath is furious.
In this well-made sequel, we meet Rachel, another telekinetic teen. In this movie, though, Rachel's torture is more about the way she looks and who she associates with. Rachel is rather pretty, intelligent, even if she is the daughter of a schizophrenic mother. Yes, her classmates torment her to a point, but other than a nightly raid by the jocks, her main threat comes in the form of her jock boyfriend's ex-girlfriend.
The finale in which Rachel gets her revenge is cataclysmic, and well staged. What keeps this from being as effective as CARRIE is that Rachel's use of her telekinetic powers seems more vicious and deliberate, whereas Carrie's were more a result of the situations.
Emily Bergl is marvelous as Rachel. While not as overwhelming as Sissy Spacek, Bergl uses her doe eyes and warm smile to make us feel for her character. Jason London (Jason and the Argonauts, Fall Time) gives one of his better performance as Jesse, the football jock, who takes a chance to get to know Rachel. Amy Irving reprises her role as Sue from CARRIE, and her character is so poorly conceived, it's embarrasing to watch Amy try and make Sue credible. Dylan Bruno and the rest of the jocks are good in their roles, giving their jock characters just the right amount of ego and menace. The way the football coach (played by Steven Ford) treats his team is abusive, sadistic and rather frightening to watch. J. Smith-Cameron as Rachel's mother does a good job, but pales in comparison to the awesome performance by Piper Laurie in CARRIE.
I know it's not fair to compare this movie to CARRIE , since it's not really a true "sequel"; however, the use of scenes from the original are neat.
Well done and entertaining, and certainly worth a view.

Summary: The moral of the story: give love a chance
Review: This isn't just an updated Carrie. In fact Carrie isn't in this film! And the young woman isn't her daughter but half sister. As you may know, Ralph White left Carrie's mother. Rachel the telekinetic teen in this film is his daughter. Her mother is schizophrenic. Seems our pal Ralph loves mentally disturbed women and then leaves them. In this movie, Rachel has more going for her ona stable psychological level then Carrie.

She is taken from her mom at a young age, and raised with foster parents. As we all know, puberty couldn't be held off forever, and neither could her powers. Her powers begin getting out of control when her best friend commits suicide, after being rejected by the jock she just lost her virginity to. It appears the football team has a points system going for every girl a guy sleeps with. They are basically hunting down these girls for sport, as sexual predators. This probably goes on at alot of schools.
One of these guys on the football team, Jesse cares about other things in life besides football. It just so happens he's the best looking. He and Rachel are in an English class together. THey start dating, much to the dismay of his former girlfriend and friends. Rachel has also given the police information about what the players are doing.
You know the guy loves Rachel in earnest, but she has an unfortunate cynical streak. Under the guise of apologizing to her, the "in crowd" invites her to a party. They play a video of her and Jesse they taped, unbeknownst to her or Jesse when she lost her virginity. They also show her their points book. Unfortunately, she believes them instead of checking with him first and her rage turns into a revenge-frenzied massacre.
Jesse shows up and she realizes the truth of Jesse's love too late. Revenge by killing only allows the bad guys to win.
