Summary: I Know What You Did Last Summer?
Review: This Film is about 4 teens celebrating their graduation, when they accidently run over a man walking on the side of the road. They all panic but then decide the best thing to do is throw him into the river, and they take a vow to, as they say in the film, "Take it to the grave". And that is exactly what they do! They start getting letters saying "I know what you did last summer".Then stange things start happening. For example, Helen Shivers(Sarah Michelle Geller) goes to bed one night and wakes up the next morning with pieces of her hair hacked off.And her boyfriend (Ryan Phillipe) goes to the gym and gets knocked down by someone who stole his car from outside the gym. These are only some of the strange antics that go on in this film. It's a cross between "NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET" and "SCREAM".I would give this film a star rating of 5 and i would recommend it to everyone(under 18 that is......)

Summary: what a horrible movie
Review: this was a terrible movie, it is one of the most predictable movies I have ever seen

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Better than Scream; still doesn't hold up to the classics.
Review: I actually consider I Know What You Did Last Summer the best entry in the horror Renaissance of the late '90s.

Horror sequences and concepts have long lapsed into the confused wasteland of whodunits and guessing games. Starting with Scream, the point is no longer to scare the audience, but to build a mystery around the killer's identity, thereby sacrificing the gut horror that the masters of the genre (Romero, Carpenter, early Craven, early Hooper) understood so well. Did we ever have a doubt who the killer was in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Or Night of the Living Dead? Or Halloween? Kevin Williamson, with Scream, had created a truly awful model for the genre (the whodunit and its cousin, the "whydunit") that very seldom creates true fear.

So why the high mark for I Know What You Did Last Summer? A good character theme -- guilty conscience over a misdeed. It's too bad they took the old horror cliche (masked killer with a funky, gimmicky hand-to-hand weapon) in this movie, because the idea of the repercussions of an irresponsible hit-and-run is a good one, and the quartet of performers -- Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillipe, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar -- actually fares quite well. Unlike Scream, which used its own generic conceits for laughs (a take-it-or-leave-it affair, butting up against the reality that, in the words of Joe Dante, horror and comedy can never be simultaneous, only juxtaposed), I Know What You Did Last Summer actually had a credible, unified character motivation, which means it can be watched, at least, as an emotional piece.

My four stars are more a recognition of the low standards of modern horror than an acknowledgement of merit. Put this film in competition with any Romero film and it still pales. At least, however, I Know What You Did Last Summer is much less clumsy than Urban Legend or its own godawful sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

Summary: I Don't Want To Know What YOU Did Last Summer
Review: The only reason I rented this movie was the fact that the writer from Scream wrote this movie too. I thought it was going to be good because of what the critics said. So I watched it. What a disappointment! This movie had no humor at all. It wasn't scary, gory, or even good. I won't even see the sequel! Rent Scream or Urban Legend instead if you want to see a GOOD movie.

Summary: Who Will Survive?
Review: This movie is a total horror movie! When four teenagers go to celebrate at midnight for one of them for becoming prom queen it turns into a nightmer that will haunt then for a life time. When one of the teens hits a guy in the road late at night they throw his body into the lake to try to hide it up. He comes back to huant then and kills them off one by one. The mystrey still goes on with the next movie "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" with new friends, exiting adventures, and more horror that will scare you from the tips of your toes to the top of you head? This is a movie you don't want to miss! Who will survive?

Summary: I know this is a good movie
Review: What a teen horror flick! You have a strong female heroine, Hewitt, good supporting characters, and a probable plot. The chase scenes were gut wrenching and fun to watch, while the story progressed along quite well. It would have been nice though to have Jennifer Love Hewitt battle the fisherman on her own. She is a smart young lady and is fully capable of handling the fisherman. Other than that, great movie.

Summary: This movie SUCKS
Review: 4 stupid teens run over a serial killer and dump his body in the river and hope he'll forget all about it. Then he comes back for revenge. No suspense! No scares! No humor! This is just a SCREAM ripoff complete with nearly matching dialogue. BOO!

Summary: Scariest thing about this movie? That it actually sold!
Review: Again, this was another movie I was really psyched to see because the previews made it look great (of course). It didn't take long for me to see that this movie was just going to be lame and annoying. The characters in it are no more than over-aged cry-babies. The story-line and plot were just so stupid that I found it had to believe anyone could enjoy this. While we're on the subject I might as well mention that "I Still Know..." was even worse. Really want to see this movie anyway? As for it as a gift so you don't lose out on any money when you want to throw it away.

Summary: Please stop comparing this movie to "Scream" already
Review: People, this movie is not "Scream". So many of these reviews compare both of them to see which is the better movie. "I Know" has a different plot, a few more scares, takes place in a different setting, and has a totally different cast. Sure, "Scream" has it's moments just like this film had them. Helen's chase scene was great and throughout the movie there were suspenseful scenes and a "what would I do if I were in that situation" scenario. The acting wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. I think that Muse Watson is a bad actor (which is really proves true in "I Still Know"), but the rest of the cast makes up for it. This is one great horror film, sure, it's not Oscar material but it does pack in a nice story, strong characters and a weirdo psycho killer with a hook. SO rent it and have a good scare, and stop comparing it with Scream!
