Summary: Evil On the Rise
Review: Ok who would be stupid enough NOT to by this. This movie is the classic horror movie. It shows a murderer stalking babysitters something that can easily happen in the real world. I know some people believe that now the Halloween series has died out but Halloween 9 is coming back to bite you ...! I will guarantee a great storyline for this one. I no that the Halloween series is starting to seem unrealistic but which horror movie doesn't. This DVD is a must. It shows what a horror movie really is. Welcome to hell! Samhain has arrived

Summary: This fits more to the sequel of Halloween 2.
Review: Screenwriters:John Carpenter (Escape from New York and L.A.) and Debra Hill (The Dead Zone) sold thier rights to air on television to NBC for $3 million but they have to filmed new scenes to Halloween to cut down on the violence and the sex. When they were filming the sequel to Halloween. They came with a quick solution for Halloween and the Sequel for surprise plot twist. Filmed in three days, this new version of Halloween was shot, the same time, they were filming Halloween 2. Added scenes runs about 10 mins longer than the 1978 release. This DVD edition add the new scenes shot for television and the relase version together, making more sense to Halloween 2.

Directed by John Carpenter (Escape from New York, The Fog, The Thing) directed the Original Theatrical Version, did directed the Added Footage for Television. DVD`s has an fine anamorphic Widescreen transfer (2.35:1) and Clear sounding Dolby Digital 2.0 mono sound. This is a must for Halloween die-hard fans. Panavision. Grade:A-.

Summary: HALLOWEEN for the completist fan!
Review: This DVD probably made anybody who bought the original 2 DVD collector's edition a little miffed, because originally this was the supplemental disc in that collection.

What we have here is HALLOWEEN with 10 minutes of scenes added to pad it's network running time and make it fit better with HALLOWEEN 2. The scenes don't add much to the movie, because the original 1978 theatrical cut of HALLOWEEN was deliriously well edited and timed out perfectly. These scenes are a novelty and a curiosity for fans of the series. The definitive version is still the original, but this is a nice addition to any collection.

The picture is just as sharp as the original cut's DVD, but the sound mix is not as aggressive. No supplement either like the documentary on the original release.

Summary: Pure Brilliance from John Carpenter
Review: This film is one of the most sensational horror movies ever made. John Carpenter crafted one of the most shocking, entertaining horror films of all time when he introduced Halloween in 1978. This movie brought out a star actress in Jamie Lee Curtis as well as a terrifying, shocking story that never developed further with the many follow ups.

By far the best in the Halloween catalog, Michael Myers is one of the great killers from an ultimate classic in the field of slasher movies.

Recommended to anyone who loves horror films.

Summary: Best Horror Flick from The Late 70's and My fave Movie!!!!
Review: This is my favorite movie first of all. I am a big Halloween fan. This movie took only 3 1/2 weeks to make and when it opened up in 1978 in made about 40 million dollars. Talk about a huge profit then. The movie is not bloody but scary. The way the camera moves you feel like you are actually there and the music combined is very scary too. Michael Myers is Donald Pleasances' patient who he tries to help for 7 years but sees no hope and then tries to lock him up. Michael stalks babysitter Laurie Strode which is pretty scary by itself and anyone that may cross his path! The white mask he wears makes me even more afraid. John Carpenter has done a great job with the whole movie. I highley recommend this if you want to get scared!!!

Summary: one of John Carpenter's best ideas in years
Review: This movie is a classic that should be in everyone's collection. The extended edition DVD (with extra footage) is worth it for anyone who really likes this film. If you are thinking of getting Halloween on DVD, get the one that says Extend Edition on the upper portion of the DVD cover.

Summary: This DVD is good but there is something you all should know!
Review: This only has the TV version in Dolby 2.O mono sound. The 2 disc set collectors edition that is now out of print came with this TV version in Dolby 2.O mono sound plus the other disc was the normal version in an OUTSTANDING Dolby 5.1 digital remaster. I have seen the extra footage on the tv version disc but I always watch the regular version because the sound is really great. It sounds like a brand new movie. Yes this new version is good but it is a shame they left out the new enhanced version of the film. That is why I give it 4 out of 5 stars. But I read somewhere that a new 25th aniversary edition is going to be put out next year and I bet they make it a 2 disc set or at least have the Dolby 5.1 theatrical version in the set. I also read that it will have a directors comentary on it! HALLOWEEN FANS just hold out a little longer for this version to come out so you have both versions of this great horror classic. TRUST ME ON THIS!

Summary: Great Movie
Review: Well. When I saw Halloween first. It was on TV. I really liked the film. Two year later I bought it on VHS and was thrilled by going to see it. But something was wrong. Some of the scenes seemed to be missing. I was really disapointed. Few months later I found out that these scenes weren't cut out but added in for tv so I understtood. But I had to find this movie but couldn't find it anywhere. I recieved this dvd for a chrismtas present and was really glad. The scenes are here but not only that this is the extended version but in the TV version a lot of cuts were made but this one does not have any cuts and include these scenes. That's why it's so great. If you don't have this buy it.

Summary: AWESOME MOVIE, but wheres the extras!!!
Review: wonderful, scary movie, but where the hell r the extras, the extended fottage is nice, but they could have at least put SOME extras, but no they make u pay another $30 dollars 4 the same movie and tons of extras, i dont recommend this edition but get the 25th anniversary one instead.
