Rating: Summary: Not bad, but better than most people give credit for. Review: As I was reading these reviews, I saw many people thought this movie wasn't too great. I felt like I needed to say a few kind words about this film. It took on the huge task of being a sequal to a great film, yet instead of using the same old plot (Freddy killing kids in their dreams for revenge on their parents) it tried a new original idea (Freddy killing through a kids body while he slept, or whenever he wanted towards the end). Also you have a scary Freddy. In my humble opinion, in the last few movies (4,5, FD) excluding new nightmare, Freddy wasn't scary at all, and took more time making jokes than killing or chasing people. Some will say it added to the suspense, but all it ever did for me was belittle a well known horror icon. Since I have said some nice things about this film, now I'll start with the bad. The plot didn't really make sense when Freddy just started to come out of Jesse's body whenever he wanted towards the end. Maybe it was because he had more control over it by then? Also I think it would of helped the story if their had been some other connection between Freddy and Jesse, than Jesse just living in the house. Anyway its a good film and worth seeing. But don't take my word for it, watch it yourself and make up your own damn mind.
Rating: Summary: Tends to Get Slow Review: This movie was alright. It wasn't the best in the series, and it tends to get slow at times. I'm not saying this movie wasn't enjoyable, but the first one was more entertaining. I'd say that it's a satisfying sequel.
Rating: Summary: Worst in Series. Review: This is the worst Feddy movie in the series only because it does not fit the storyline at all. Freddy Krueger was supposed to be terrorizing children of parents who burned Freddy not anyone who just moves into the house. The acting was bad and there wasn't much action. The movie also seems really short, lasting just over and hhour and 10 minutes. The only good part was the bus scene at the begining and end because I hate school buses and they had the right idea with that one. I don't recommend this movie at all.
Rating: Summary: Freddy is back! Review: True, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is not quite like the first one but it deserves a good review. This movie has a good enough plot along with scares that show a more violent side of Freddy Kruger which makes this film worthy to be a sequel.
Rating: Summary: What a crummy mistake of the original!!! Review: I bought this movie along with the whole series thinking that it wouldn't be great to watch, and boy was I ever wrong. It had to be THE worst stand up comic, I have ever had the misfortune to see. Freddy was different, the story took the original downpath, the actors and special effects were weak along with the plot. Wes Craven was right to decide not to have anyything to do with this film. He never even was on any of the credits until the very end of the cast at the end. The movie is a total waste of money, and Robert Shaye did the worst to his good friend Mr. Craven, by producing the thing. Save your money for something better, than this believe me.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining enough Review: With any sequel it's difficult to have high hopes of it surpassing the original. This rudimentary slasher flick offers nothing new, but it's difficult to say that it's a bad movie. The story has Jesse (Patton) move in with his family to the house where Nancy from the first movie lived and watched her boyfriend get murdered across the street. Soon he realises that his sickening nightmares are actually a manifestation of the very thing Nancy was trying to get away from - Freddy Krueger, a deformed monster who possesses Jesse in order to reak bloody havoc. Caught up in the mess is occassional love interest Lisa (Myers). There's clearly plenty to pick out of the plot, in particular some cheesy acting and plenty of obvious turning points. However, the gore is laid on thick, with some impressive special effects, especially for a movie made in the 80's. There's a handful of pretty enjoyable scenes as Freddy rips his way through the pool party of a bunch of obnoxious teens. The movie is also peppered with gay undertones, although the movie never really tells us why. In addition, the split-personality of Jesse is never quite exploited for all its worth. Still, there's a bizarre and appropriately surreal dream sequence at the beginning, and even if this will never truly scare it's still entertaining enough.
Rating: Summary: Freddy rules along with Michael Myers and Jason!! Review: This one's scary as hell. Especially at the pool party scene. But heck, its not TOO scary as the first. A "new" kid moves to Elm ST., living in the exact house as Nancy did from the original: NOES. It's very realistic looking and you almost start to have sympathy for Freddy's victims. Some people think that this one isn't that great, but I think it's okay. It may not be the best, but it does have the dark touch as the original. My fav's in the series are "Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors", "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: the Dream Master", "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: Dream Child", and "The Final Nightmare" (or is it??). I like alot of this horror stuff. Michael Myers and Jason are also good horror monsters. Be sure to check out "Halloween" 1,2,5, and H20 along with "Friday the 13th" 1,2,4,6, and 8. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST OF HORROR WITHOUT DOUBT!!
Rating: Summary: Pretty Bad mostle cause of male nudity Review: The Grady family, including their teenage son Jesse, move into a house on Elm Street which has been vacant for some time. Hardly surprising, since it was the same house in which the first Nightmare on Elm Street took place. Jesse starts having strange nightmares and finds that Freddy Krueger is using him to commit terrible deeds. It is up to his girlfriend to find some way of stopping Freddy. The move is the most poor sequal. It's possesion storyline is stupid and pointless. It doesn't even feel like a Freddy movie especially all the male nudity (basicly butts shown) It's horrible I mean here's what's wrong with it ESPECIALLY IF IT'S A HORROR MOVIE (hint hint)/ #1: Most girls don't like horror movies and (plus who would like this movie anyway) anyways back to my point because less girls would watch a horror movie and more boys would why would there be male nudity and plus I'm a boy. Also this movie has HORRIBLE acting and it's not because I don't like old movies because I do. It's just horrible skip this piec of crap for an excusse of a Freddy Krueger movie so just go to Nightmare on Elmstreet 3 Dream Warriors.
Rating: Summary: Somewhat Dissapointed. Review: "Freddy's Revenge" picks up 5 years later in the same house in which the original myhem took place. In other words Freddy's got fresh meat. He decides to try and take full possesstion over the new boy on the block. This way he can get close to the kids friends and pick them off one by one. Fans of high gore will be pleased by this release, because the poor kid gose through enough vile, eye-poping, and gut-wenching tourment to make Raggon(from the Exorcist) jealous. That shock value plain would work just fine if the Speacil Effects were any good, and there wern't so many jokes watering down the terror. If your new to the Nightmare seires I would suggest you watch the first one first, then watch the third one "The Dream Warriors" (which was a masterpiece in the speacil effects department, and was a reunion for some of in the original film makers including the brillent Wes Craven) then watch this one. Like all the Nightmares this one very entertaining, but just not as Sophisticated as the first "Nightmare on Elm Street", "The Dream Warriors", or the last one "New Nightmare"
Rating: Summary: The Underrated Nightmare Review: NOES 2 is very well acted, with characters the audience believes in and even sympathizes with. Clu Gulager is great and funny as usual, and Mark Patton plays a very believable scared kid. Freddy is what he should be, an evil, maleovent, boogieman everyone is scared of. The opening scene is right out of any school age child's worst nightmare, and ties in well with the bleak ending. The effects are top rate, and it contains some disturbing scenes and images. Highly recommended.
