Rating: Summary: Better than I thought Review: Before I watched this film I expected it to be another pathetic Scream rip-off. Well it is a Scream rip-off but it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I agree that a young female of Rebecca Gayheart's size could not pull off some of the things she did (dragging and hanging Joshua Jackson)...overall it was an entertaining and suspenseful film. And personally I laughed at the "Noxema Girl" reference and the Dawson's Creek theme song! Come on people..it's a movie! Entertainment... :)
Rating: Summary: Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, & not in an entertaining way, either Review: Not scary, not funny. Anyway, the plot revolves around a Serial Killer who is offing people in ways based on Ye Olde Urban Legends. I was into this movie, hoping for cheap thrills, until I had to watch a TWENTY-FIVE YEAR OLD WOMAN recoil in sheer horror at the thought of combining POP-ROKS & Coke. The acting was not just terrible, but plain insulting. Like the "Goth" girl in walks around in black lingerie & acts like a b1tch. Or the dumb best friend with the disappearing, re-appearing Southern accent. I also liked the idea of "making it look like a suicide" by leaving someone bound & gagged with two dozen stab wounds. O-kaaaayyy. Or the fact that a college can cover up not one, but two massacres, but when there's underage drinking at my old school, it's front-page news. I'm also sick of "horror" movies that are nothing more the pretty idiots being stalked by a faceless killer and constanly having loud noises come out of nowhere. Dumb & dumb.
Rating: Summary: What's wrong with this movie? Review: What I would like to know is why everyone keeps bashing Urban Legend??? I am big into horror flicks and I know a good one when I see it and I must say that this is at the top of my list. There are a very few movies that will actually scare me and I must say that this one scared me...I was sitting in my basement, by myself with all the lights off watching this movie... and let me tell you .. I was just a bit freaked out... and if a movie can scare me, then it's gotta be good. So what I want to know is why everyone keeps bashing it? It wasnt bad at all.... cmon guys.. give it a chance...
Rating: Summary: A movie which never wants you to take it seriously Review: Did I buy who the killer was? No. Did I believe any of these killings could be done? No. Did I buy the killer's motives? No. Did I have fun? Hell Yeah!!!! After stupid upon stupid Scream rip-offs (Disturbing Behavior, I Know.., it's sequels, The Faculty and even Scream 2), I enjoyed this one for it's willingness to go over the edge, where I Know What You Did Last Summer wanted to be believed. Plus the idea of a serial killer ripping of Urban Legends (which are all creepy in themselves) really works. Fun. Not Award material, but good honest fun.--wcg
Rating: Summary: Absolutely riveting, tantalizing Review: I would agree with a previous viewer; half Scream, half I know what you did last Summer. I'd put this one right inbetween. Great plot. Keeps you guessing & has some great lines as well. A must for your DVD collection.
Rating: Summary: Wannabe Scary Movie to the extreme!!! Review: What a horrible movie that makes us dumber by the second...I have never seen a movie which treats its viewers like such idiots..Also the dog in the microwave was about as tasteless as it gets!!! Poor movie with very little talent!
Rating: Summary: Its a good cuddle with your honey horror!! Review: In comparison to most of the current so called horror flicks. this movie was alot of fun. I spent most of the movie causing permenant nail marks in my husbands arm. I think the best part was that it was not full of gore. The creators of the movie believed that the movie viewing public was smart enough to use their imagination. well worth the time and money.
Rating: Summary: Good movie, if you like the genre. Review: This movie was really good, I think that as it was directed toward a teen market it didn't do as well as it normally would if it was a heart touching drama or a comedy. I personally think the acting was great, I mean come on Rebecca Gayheart was great, and if you didn't like her performance here, check her out in jawbreaker, she is sooooo good. Some parts were a little unrealistic but this is a horror movie, it isn't supposed to be non-fiction, it is just 2 hours of suspense that will make you check your locks at night, for the next few weeks. If you like scream and i know what you did last summer, see it, is is the only decent horror movie i have seen since ikwydls.
Rating: Summary: Um, no, I'm sorry. Bad, bad movie. Review: "Urban Legend" was one of the most pathetic examples of a "horror" movie that I've ever seen, although I'm not sure I can call it horror, as the movie wasn't scary...at all. No, really, not at all. To be honest, the only times I jumped were the 'false scares,' or those times where the music spiked and someone tapped someone else on the shoulder, and you think something is going to happen. That's not a good sign, people. And as if that's not enough, the movie was so rediculously miscast it makes me want to scream. Who told these so-called actors that they could be anything they wanted? Because that same someone should have mentioned that the rule does not apply to people who cannot act. And Alicia Witt...can we say telepromper? (And for those of you who cannot comprehend my insult, a few of our scream queens failed to remember that reading lines directly doesn't help the audience to accept the movie as reality). Post note: Will someone please tell Rebecca Gayheart to stick with Noxzema...Please?
Rating: Summary: Worst Movie EVER!!!!!!! Review: I gave "Urban Legend" an F-. This was the worst horror movie I have ever seen!! I mean, come on people, who would walk around in a snow suit at the end of April?? Also, the part about the dog was just plain cruel!! I think they should have spent a lot more time on production!! Alicia Witt and Jared Leto really need some acting classes!! One more thing, that female killer could not perform those kinds of attacks on certain victims, like Joshua Jackson. A good idea for a film was wasted here!!
