Summary: Premise Stretched Too Thin.....
Review: The last good Friday flick is Friday 7. This one suffers from too many boring deaths and a weak plot. Let me just recap some of the silly things in this movie.The resurrection of Jason Voorhees in the begining was corny. We've seen him come back twice already and a power cable on the bottom of the lake being cut by a boat anchor does not pass. Sorry. Also, can I ask what a boat that size is doing at Crystal Lake? Why does Jason go aboard the Teen Cruise? Does he need a vacation from all the killing? Why is it directed like a bad TV movie? Just a question? The body count is really high, which to a horror fan is not a bad thing, but smashing a guitar in someones fance and routine stabbings won't pass in the 8th entry of a slasher series. Kelly Hu (Martial Law, Nash Bridges, The Scorpion King) is in it. Enough Said. The heroine Renny is a wimp. Comming off the Jason vs Tina Shephard fight in the last movie, the filmmakers should have tried to top that but didn't. They get to NYC without the coast guard stopping them. NYC's harbor is pretty lax but come on. What the heck type of ending does this movie have? Why did Jason talk? Now to the half decent stuff... It at least tried something new, but for the most part failed at it. Jason looks gross, slimy hands and all. He punches that obnoxious guys head off. He pushes someone on the subway (welcome to NYC Jason!) This movie is for direct to video Horror fans. Because that what this movie is like. A cheaply made direct to video slasher flick.... Watch the first 4 over again. They are the best in the series.

Summary: a pretty good sequel
Review: I liked this film in some ways and hated it in many ways too. The first part that bothered me was that it didn't take place at Camp Crystal Lake. It mostly took place on a boat to Manhatten.(they didn't spend too much time in Manhatten.) The second part that bothered me was that when Jason came back as a kid, he had hair. Isn't that wrong? He didn't have hair as a kid, I remember! I also didn't like the characters in the film. When they got to Manhatten, the movie just seemed to have no end. Jason kept coming back and then comiong back which is cool, but it got boring. I liked the movie only cuz Jason was in it and I like his style!

Summary: Only worth watching if you have nothing to do
Review: This movie was okay, but not so good. After all it has a very weird touch to it. "Jason in Manhatten", it just sounds stupid. The story starts off with Jason coming back to life with electricity going through him under the lake near the camp where most of victims were killed. During that time above the water, a couple, on a boat, were getting a little horny. The man on the boat actually had Jason's mask. Jason goes on board, takes his mask, and does his murderous stuff. Later a number of graduating students were on board "The Lazurous" and what a coincidence that Jason too happened to board the ship. Jason does his killings to teens one by one. Only very few made it too New York on a life boat. I'm not going to say how jason dies because that is something you have to see for yourself. One weird thing was that Jason was able to get places faster then the people he was chasing(it was like he transported himself in one second)What was also wierd was that nobody in New York actually noticed him chasing people. But overall the movie was okay. I would have gave 2.5 stars if it was possible.

Summary: "The best Jason movie I've ever seen!"
Review: This definately is the coolest Jason movie I've seen, but it only gets four stars because, if you've read my other F-13 reviews, I don't think it's necessary for Jason to take his mask off! One thing that was cool was Jason's mask, it didn't look like that old, fragile plastic mask that he wears in the 3rd movie. It was also pretty creepy when Jason had his mask off and was crawling through the sewers covered in Toxic waste. So, in conclusion, this was the coolest Jason movie, and I think Jason looked really creepy now because he's soaked in water and has torn cloathing. It was awesome.

Review: I rented Friday The 13th, Part VIII - Jason Takes Manhattan just afew weeks ago and thought that it was excellent! At first I thought that it might be stupid but, it turned out to be okay and had lots of action! Rent or buy it today!

Summary: Different, but...
Review: They cut down on the gore in this installment, but still the body count is high. The movie works fine as a nightmarish chiller. Jason continues his rampage, but this time the story is not set in 'Crystal Lake' (Thank God for that!) but on a cruise ship named "Lazarus" (Hmmm...). 1/2 hour later everyone is running about in New York's dark alleys & sewers.
The cinematography is well done, unfortunately the plot starts losing it's way in the end & leaves you stupified....

Summary: Under-Appreciate but One of the Best in the Series.
Review: Once Again, Jason (Kane Hodder) is Coming Back to Life from Under the Waters of Crystal Lake. But this time-Jason is going to Take a Trip to New York City!, When He Aboards on a Cruise Ship, Full of Graduating of a Local High School Students and Jason is Killing Them, One by One, as He Always Does. Written and Directed by Rob Hedden (Who Co-Wrote the Screenplay of Clockstoppers) made a Flawed by Surprisingly Good Sequel. Which is Clever Photographed, Well Directed and Even Nostalgic. Some might called this, the Best of the Friday the 13th Films. Although the Flick is Quite Preposterous at Times and the Connection between Rennie (Jensen Daggett) and Jason doesn`t make Sense (Expect if She was a Middle-Aged High School Student or the Ex-Student, Who Returns for a 30 Year Renuion!). Still, it was (As Usual) a Modest Hit at the Box Office and also, This Would be the Last-Friday the 13th Film to be Produced by the Studio-Paramount. Although this one is quite slow moving at times but it's violent at times with heavy handed sense of humor but it's the bad ending almost puts this one down. This isn't really for Fans of the Series but Director:Hedden tries the best, he could and it's actually one of the most well acted in the Series. Grade:B.

Summary: Great Idea.....Bad Movie.....
Review: You know that the people making this movie really didn't have a scary movie in mind when this one was made. The trailor alone is funny and I remember hearing groans in the theater when you saw it was Jason. The story (?) is about Jason Vorrhees following a bunch of horny students to New York City to kill them for what ever reason. There were some very funny moments in the film and I would have liked to have seen them concintrate more on the humor than the gore. I will admit seeing Jason walk down the street's of New York holding a machete and stalking two young teens, all the time no one really pay's him any mind is really funny, it is the idea that New York is so crazy that even this is not enough to make people look twice.
The villan of the slasher killer is not new and has been done with Jason, Freddy, and Mike Myers of Nightmare on Elm St and Halloween but I have always found that Jason is the most scary. There are no wise cracks like Freddy and he is not a slim man like Micheal. Jason has always been a very imposing and scary villan, I just wish that a really good horror director (John Carpenter, Tim Burton, Wes Crave or Steven Spielberg ect...)would come along and help to put a real finish on this series and help to give it the final cut....

Summary: It's a Friday the 13th film, what else do you want from it?
Review: All right people. Now, if you'e looking for "The Exorcist" or a "Psycho" classic horror film....keep searching. There have been nine of these films, with the tenth coming out this Friday. If you think the series will get better with time, again find another movie. But, if you want and need a Jason fix, then you're reading the right review. Jason is born again by an electrical current and thus the carnage begins. Stowing away on a boat for 80% of the movie, he kills almost everyone in sight. Terrible 80's music ensues while he finds new ways to kill such as by guitar. Only 2 survive (and a dog). The death of Jason is kind of cool as you get to see what's underneath that mask. Manhattan will never be the same again. Could it have been better? Heck yeah it could've. Is it the best film? Heck no, but we've all seen something worse.....

Summary: The worst movie in the series
Review: An electrical shock brings Jason back from the bottom of Crystal Lake. Later, Jason joins some teens on a cruise headed for New York. There are a lot of things to dislike about this movie. No matter how fast the victims run, Jason seems to be able to catch up to them. Or, in one scene, Jason seems to just appear and disappear as this girl looks around the room. These elements gave some fans the impression that Jason can "teleport". What I really dislike about this movie is that it ruined the whole Jason Voorhees legend. I mean, the main character had an encounter with Jason--Jason as a little boy--when she was a little girl? When Jason and the survivors of the doomed cruise ship finally made it to New York, there were lots of people for Jason to slice and dice, but Jason didn't do that. Didn't the story behind Jason already establish that Jason kills everyone who gets in his way? The ending was a little weird. Between this movie and the next, Paramount Pictures sold the rights to New Line Cinema. In my opinion, Paramount Pictures deliberately created that ending in order to decrease the value of the franchise; they know that New Line Cinema will have a hard time continuing on where the movie left off.
