Summary: i don't know why this movie gets so much bad thoughts
Review: i think this is a very good movie. the acting is very good,shocking huh. this is not the worst entry. i think jason goes to hell is. the killing scenes are very good. like the hot rock in the stomach, drowning the teacher in toxic waste, and knocking the boxers head off into the garbage. this is not as bad as people say it is. it is one of the better ones in the series.

Review: This in my opinion is the best film in the Friday The 13th series, just the plot of the story was pretty cool...huge guy wearing a hockey mask in New York killing lots of people now that's typical slasher style for you but it worked.I loved it.

Review: Friday The 13th Part VIII Jason Takes Manhattan is not one of the best of the series (that honour goes to Jason Goes To Hell The Final Friday), but it's not one of the worst either (THAT honour goes to Friday The 13th Part V A New Beggining). Sure, this movie has it's fair share of problems, most notably that that the small little lake from all the previous entries is now an oceon leading into New York City, but it's a good movie to pick up at the video store when you're bored and have nothing to do. It also has some of the best acting (and some of the worst) of the whole series. Unlike others, I liked Peter Mark Richmond (The Naked Gun 2 1/2 The Smell Of Fear) in this movie. I also liked VC Dupree as the boxer, Julius, and I really LOVED Sharlene Martin in her small role of Tamara. Martin Cummins is funny as the video friek who's got the hots for Tamara. The movie begins at Camp Crystal Lake (Where else?) where good old Jason (Kane Hodder) is brought back to life by a dropped anchor that sends an electric shock through him. Then, he gets aboard the ship "Lazarus" where a bunch of graduating teens are heading to New York. To bad only a few of them will make it there. Our heroine for this movie is Rennie (Jensen Daggat) who's having visions of a young Jason who says "Help Me". But, she boards the ship to lose her fear of water. However, her uncle (and teacher) Charles McChullock (Peter Mark Richmond) doesn't want her aboard, he thinks it's to dangerous. Meanwhile, all the other teens are getting slaughtered by Jason in various non-gory and bloodless deaths (thanks mostly to the MPAA!!!!). Well, eventually the ship sinks and leaves only a handfull of survivors to dock at New York, however, Jason's there as well.... I'm not sure what to say about this one. It's really a pretty [bad] movie, and the ship's insides look a lot like a set, but it sure as heck did keep me entertained for a good 96 minutes. Kane Hodder is really awesome as Jason, and I thought the whole setting of the ship was really claustraphobic and scary. My complaints are that all the interesting people had to die. Poor Tamara, she was one of my favorite charecters of the whole series, and after she dies it gets a little boring. Also, JJ, who was only in the movie for about 5 minutes before Jason slams a guitar in her face. Also, now Jason has picked up an ability to teleport. It's really quite annoying. I mean, he's way down on the ground, and then suddenly he's in the second story of a building. I also believe that this Friday holds the largest amount of mistakes. Like, how did Jason get these clothes after they were shredded in Part VII? Well, there's a lot more, but I'm limited to 1,000 words so, I guess I can't say them all. Never the less, I recomend that you pick up this movie, or buy it used for 5 bucks somewhere. If you enjoyed this movie, I'd recomend Jason Goes To Hell, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and Halloween 2. Brett Michael Roberts.

Summary: Jason Takes Manhattan, But The Audience Might Take A Nap
Review: I have to give the filmmakers credit for at least trying to do something different with everyone's favorite hockey masked serial killer. You mean, there isn't more than one?!. They don't exactly pull it off. This could of been made into a real high camp adventure, but they didn't take their gimmick and use it as much as they should. Pity. After the opening scenes of Jason's ridiculous ressurrection and the dispatching of two hormone crazed teens who get exactly what you'd expect two hormone crazed teens in a horror film would, we skip to s bunch of graduating high school students, who are going on a cruise to New York City as a graduation prize. Jason has climbed aboard and starts terrorizing the passengers on board. One passenger in particular, the heroine, is focused on. Her name is Rennie, and she is played catatonically by Jensen Daggett, who would later go on to have a recurring role on "Home Improvement". She is being bombarded with images of a child Jason drowning in water, as he did all those years ago. It is by no surprise that we begin to think their is some kind of connection. The movie should've been called "Jason Takes A Cruise" because New York is only seen in the climax of the film. Even then, it's shot in dark alleyways. sidewalks, and in the sewers. One scene in Times Square is the only real shot of the glorious New York City we know. This is the biggest mistake, out of a few, that the film made. False advertising!. The scenes with Jason in the city are hilarious and could of been used more. I don't know why the writer thought of the idea, but only had the characters in back alleys and sewers. He had a gimmick that could of been used for maximum fun, but he doesn't use it. How did Jason know his way around there anyways?. Don't tell me he knew short cuts in a huge city he's never been too!. The body count is high as usual, but not as bloody as past installments. Once again, let's go thru the slicing and dicing. Speared, knifed, harpooned, glass shards, choking, somebody gets rocks in their stomach, a head leaves it's resting place on a guy's shoulders, and drowning by toxic waste, among a few others. Kane Hodder, once again, does a great job of the new 'zombie-like' Jason. He has been the only actor to portray Jason more than once. It has really become his role and he has made it his own. Don't even get me started on the ridiculous...ending. Does anyone know what that's about?. It was another mistake in a film, not to mention franchise, that is riddled with them. Then again, the Jason movies were never one to care much for story or details. Jason Takes Manhattan is decent fun for stupid entertainment. It has really silly things in here that don't make much sense. It's not one of the better ones in the series. A cheap movie.

Review: Friday The 13th Part IVVV Jason Takes Mannhatten is one of the better entries after 1984's "Friday The 13th The Final Chapter". .... The title says it all. JASON TAKES MANHATTEN!!! Wow! It's not just Camp Crystal Lake (which was getting quite boring by Part 7) anymore. Jason's going for a trip!!! And a mightey fun one too!! Jason is in Manhatten for only 27 minutes or so, but that doesn't take away the thrills and fun of the film. The movie picks up on a small boat, where Suzi and Jimmy are making love. While doing so, Jimmy tells Suzy that they're right on the lake where Jason drowned. They stop the love-making for a minute so that Jimmy can go and drop anchor. However, when he does so, he awakens Jason!! (chessey but fun). Needless to say, Jimmy and Suzi have made love for the last time. Meanwhile, the next day, Jason stows away on the boat "Lazarus" with a group of graduating teens. Well, as the back of the cover says, he transorms it into the ultimite voyage of the damned. Part VIII in this series is not really scary at all (it's more funny) and suspense dosen't seem to be in the film maker's vocabularey. But it's all good Slashin' fun. Kane Hodder returns as Jason, very good too. But there are some flaws. #1. At the begining, Suzi, being stalked by Jason, starts to smirk while he's looking for her. I mean, she starts to SMILE!!!! Why the hell would you smile when you're about to be murdered???? ....#2. Why can Jason suddenly transform into different spots??? It makes absoloutley no sense. Jason's there, and then he's here!!! Why? But, nontheless, Jason Takes Mannhaten is pure, fun, slasher entertainment, good for a rent, or you can find it someplace cheap I'm sure. It's good entertainment. Friday The 13th Part VIII Jason Takes Mannhatten is Rated R For Violence, Breif Language, and Some Nudity.

Review: ...They have taken the "Friday the 13th" sequels way too far with this one. When did Jason stop slashing teenagers in Camp Crystal Lake, get on a boat, kill all the passengers, and get off in Manhattan. This movie takes stupidness to another level.

Review: IÂ've heard people say that this 8th sequel wasnÂ't very good, i can accept bad critic but not when itÂ's just that (bad critic) It has to be constructive so think about it for a while people started to complain after the first five ones becuse there was no plot just gore and violence and they where not the least scary (except for 1 and 2) ThatÂ's what i think they succeded with in this sequel especialy in the beginning where he slowly, slowly pushes the harpun in to her body. So back to the violence i think that although all the editing was made it was very violent of corse im thinking of the hot sauna rock in the chest and needle in the back of that gangbanger, oh and letÂ's not forget when he punches the lightÂ's out of that no good boxer. Correct me if im wrong but doesnÂ't it seem like Jason have supernatural powers in this one, your probably thinking ofcorse he has supernatural powers heÂ's been shot in the head stabbed with an axe and been hit in the head with a mechete and blown to bits in part 7 but here he seems to have the ability to teleport or something, first heÂ's on the boat deck and in the next his 35 feet up standing on a ladder and he can apparenly walk ten kilometers under water in just a few minutes. But overall this was a good sequel with an high deathtoll and some gruesome scenes as well. For all of you Jason fanatics out there who have missed this of some no good reason GO AND SEE IT!!!

Summary: This Is The Worst Friday The 13th Film, Ever!
Review: I can't stand this one at all. It's just so boring, and the death count is too high. Usually, when there are less people, the movie is longer and scarier, too. But this one just fails, to be good. The effects are terrible, and the film is worse than Part VII. I wouldn't suggest somebody to rent this if they're bored. This one should have never been made at all. The acting is bad, and Charles McCulloch is boring to listen to. That would be Rennie's uncle. The thing I don't understand at all is, how did Jason's clothes get replaced, after being ripped to shreds in Part VII? Because the directors, and film workers didn't know what they were doing. All I can tell you is, "do not rent this one!" Trust me. It sucks.

Summary: Jason Takes Manhatten and my choice for the Best Jason flick
Review: This movie is great. Once again which has become a custom in Jason flicks no specail actors. Story Line 10 out of 10 Jason hitchs a ride on a boat anda after murdering a couple of murders comences his chase with the last known survivors on the boat. This is the best Jason flick.
