Summary: Sorry Jason....
Review: But a Friday movie without nudity? There's something wrong with that.

Summary: This Should Have Been The Finale!
Review: Not only was this the best Friday the 13th movie, but I also feel this should have been the one to end it all. The start is quite captivating. Even though we know that Tommy killed Jason in Part IV, Tommy just can not believe Jason is dead. Tommy goes to destroy Jason's corpse and raises Jason from the dead instead! (Excellent Irony) Jason then replaces his mask. (He was made vulnerable in part 4, he replaces his mask, will never be so vulnerable again, and we never see his face again. (Excellent poetic structure!) Tommy runs for help but no one will believe that Jason is back. (Excellent suspense!) The town has even changed its name in an attempt to put Jason behind them. Tommy's line is very memorable: "No matter what you call it, it is still Camp Crystal Lake to him." This is the first time where we see Jason go from one place to the next (without killing for the moment). Another first is that the kids are actually at the camp when Jason chooses to attack. I commend the director on how he could make this frightening by using JUST THE RIGHT amount of blood and effects. (Unlike other parts they are not overdone.) Also, comical lines are well placed, the Cooper soundtrack is flattering to this, and even a car chase helps keep this movie going. Tommy realizes that the only way to destroy Jason is to return him to the lake where he originally drowned. (Would it not have been so poetically correct to finish the series this way?) The final fight between Tommy and Jason is dramatic and memorable. Jason even reminds us that evil is never really destroyed when he revives.

Summary: Different when compared to the previous Friday films
Review: The first time that I rented Friday the 13th part 6, I had already seen parts 1,2,3,4,5, but not in that order. I expected a film with a large amount of gore and graphic death scenes, which I had been used to seeing after watching part 5 as the last one I had seen before seeing part 6. But what I got was something different. This film is basically a comedey, that didn't take it self seriously as the previous films had. Although, I found this to be a good aspect that was addded to the film, I liked this one alot, but I wouldn't reccomend part 6 as a first watched Friday for a new viewer of the Friday films. The best one to watch first is part 3, thats when things really begin to pick up for the Friday films. Same plot as the past 5 films, well pretty much the same plot. It's worth seeing for the fans of the Friday the 13th films.

Summary: My favorite so far
Review: I've seen Friday the 13th Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. Without a doubt, so far my favorite of them is "Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives." It's not the scariest or the goriest of them all, but it has a great storyline and it's a great horror movie. Tommy Jarvis, who was a kid when he killed Jason, is back in this captivating sequel to make sure that Jason Voorhees is really dead once and for all. He goes to the graveyard and digs Jason up only to find that he's still alive and is now on the loose again. He tries to convince a cop that Jason is still alive, but the cop thinks he's insane. Tommy has to get past the cop who won't believe him if he wants a chance to kill Jason and save some people from getting killed.

Anybody who likes the Friday the 13th movies should like this one. I recommend it to anybody who likes great horror movies, it's one of the best ones that you could get.

Summary: One of the best F13 sequels
Review: Jason Lives, along with parts 2 and 4, are the best sequels to the original Friday the 13th. I say 2 and 4 are because they both came close to as many scares as the original, and were just as dark and grainy...adding to the atmosphere. Part 6 is just as well done, but on a slightly different level. One is the dark humor. Writer/Director Tom McLoughlin has woven in sublte and not-so-subtle jokes into the series. He has also managed to provide the Tommy Jarvis character's last screen appearance in the series with a strong, determined edge( he doesn't just stare at Jason and run away screaming). I thought it brought back Joseph Zito's view of the character from part 4(still scared, but he continues on). The lack of gore, as some fans say, I don't really care. I know the series is more or less famous for it, but I usually pay more attention to the characters. I wish, though, that the MPAA hadn't been so hard-headed with cutting this film's FX up, because it originally had a lot more, and some scenes fall flat because of the trims. But, all in all, this is a very good sequel. Also read the book. You can always track down copies on auctions sites like Ebay and Yahoo, and I like it better than the movie because it features details of McLoughlin's script which fleshed out the Jason character, and the story itself(you can thank good 'ole Paramount as always for trimming these details out of the filming). Summary: As crazy as it sounds, probably my favorite
Review: I don't know what it was. Horshack in the beginning? Maybe, but this movie had some good suspense, humor, horror, and chills. It also had some heroes with backbones, much like the girl in movie number 2. There were no gutless sheep folding like cheap suits. The male lead really stood up to Jason and the girl was right behind him. This movie actually had you rooting for the good guys, not just waiting to see them get slaughtered. Even though this is number 6, this may be the best of them all. Jason gets re-aquainted with the lake.

Summary: A Good Jason Movie!
Review: In my opinion this was one of the better Jason(Friday the 13th) movies that was made. Jason had been buried and forever forgotten by all concerned. A couple of graverobbers leave a metal instrument sticking out of his grave. The metal instrument is struck by lightening bringing Jason back to life. Of course Jason kills everything that he sees. After a high body count Jason finally meets his maker. Jason is anchored to a tremendous boulder and anchored to the bottom of the lake. A perfect ending to the Friday the 13th movies. The makers of the movie made the mistake of bringing him back to life for Friday the 13th part 7. All in all Friday the 13th Part 6 was a very good movie.

Summary: Jason Film A Real Shocker
Review: Let me say at the outset that I love the slasher stalking formula. The titilating nudity & the gorey killings which are the spice of this series are entertainment at it's most primal & powerful. It's an exciting combination there's no denying it and it hit it straps in this series in 4 & 5.

I had high hopes for number 6 but it was a total disappoint. The interesting plot ending of number 5 was just totally ignored. Instead of the deranged young guy taking up Jasons mantle, Jason gets stupidly raised from the dead by a lightning strike.

Someone should pick up these loose ends and make another number 6 continuing the plot line of 5.

This would be forgiveable but that there aint' no nudity & Jason doesn't do much killing. Missing these classic elements of the Friday the 13th series this episode just isn't entertaining. The producers seem to be trying to bring the series into the mainstream for almost a 'family telemovie audience' with this one...

Summary: HORRIBLE, JUST HORRIBLE!
Review: I DON'T KNOW WHY SO MANY PEOPLE THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD MOVIE. THE BEST ONE IN THE SERIES IS PART 4! THE STORY WAS STUPID, THE ACTING WAS EVEN WORSE, AND THE END OF THE SAGA THAT BEGAN IN PART 4 ENDS HERE AND IN A STUPID LOVE STORY WAY! WHERE'S THE SUSPENSEFUL ENDING TOO? OOOOH JASON OPENS HIS EYES AT THE END, I'M SO TERRIFIED! THE OPENING SCENE IS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS ONE. AFTER THAT, IT'S ALL DOWN HILL.

RATED R- FOR VIOLENCE, LANGUAGE, AND A SEX SCENE.
