Rating: Summary: Terrific sequel, but lacks suspense of the original Review: "Halloween II" is a great movie, which expands on the original's story but lacks the atmosphere or terror and replaces it with blood and gore. Picking up precisely where "Halloween" left off, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is taken to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital after being attacked and Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) is still looking for Myers after shooting him six times. The Shape (Dick Warlock) tracks Laurie to the hospital where he kills the entire staff with needles, and scalpels and boiling hot water and a number of other grotesque ways. Well, I have to tell you, although both films occur on the same night, you can really tell the difference between the two of them. In the original, Michael hid in the shadows. In this one, he is always seen. There was absolutely no blood at all in the first film, in this one, there is blood everywhere. Pools of blood and gore. The music has improved though, I like the synthesizer and organ element to the theme. Donald Pleasence did a terrific job, again, playing the role of Loomis. It seems every movie he goes more over the edge. Jamie Lee Curtis is wasted though, all she does throughout this movie is sleep, utter 2 lines of dialogue and then stumble through the halls all drugged up. The hospital staff are all morons too. I mean, if you were in charge of a floor of sleeping babies, would you go into the therepy pool with your boyfriend and make out with him?? If you want the COMPLETE story, rent the original, this one and H20. Skip the other ones.
Rating: Summary: A worthy sequel and a must on Halloween night Review: Picking up immediately where "Halloween" ended, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is taken to the local clinic for her injuries while Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasance) urges the police to "assume Michael Myers is still alive" and keep looking for him. Good idea. But while they look in all the wrong places, Michael follows his terrified quarry to the clinic and starts performing unauthorized surgery on the staff. By the time Loomis discovers where Michael is - and why he's there - it's a race against time as Laurie is being pursued by the most dangerous man alive.Rick Rosenthal directs this handsome and polished sequel at a pace that keeps "more of the night he came home" moving along. But in the wake of the first two "Friday the 13th" films that were released after "Halloween", audiences expectations had changed. Behind Rosenthal's back (and certainly against his better judgment) John Carpenter re-shot some scenes with more graphic violence. There is some merit to Rosenthal's claim that Carpenter "ruined" his film; all the gory close-ups really aren't necessary, and it certainly hasn't helped the film's reputation. Nonetheless, there's still plenty of scares and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, as well as logic loopholes that the film wouldn't be possible without. TV versions offer a variety of deleted scenes, mostly of hospital staff chit-chat as well as shots of Michael Myers roaming the corridors and some alternate scenes, such as the attack on the marshal or the ending where a very much alive Jimmy is reunited with Laurie. One deleted scene worth mentioning shows the hospital emergency generator kick in as the lights go out. This answers the often asked question "Why did the hospital suddenly get so dark"? Donald Pleasance gives a great hammy performance as the obsessed doctor, and Jamie Lee Curtis can still scream - although until the last half hour or so she's mostly in a hospital bed. I think this is the best sequel; the other ones lack the coherency and style here until Curtis returned in 1998 for the gripping "Halloween H20". This Universal DVD release only has the theatrical trailer; Rick Rosenthal was too busy shooting "Halloween: Resurrection" to do the promised commentary and the inclusion of the deleted scenes were scrapped at the last minute, despite active fan petitions.
Rating: Summary: A grand sequel Review: This flick picks up the second the original Halloween left off. Michael survuved the fall and simply walked away. The majority of this flick takes place in a hospital where there are some grisly killings indeed. Who can forget the boiling couple in the therapy hottub, or the nurse who ended up donating just a little too much blood? Tomboy Jamie Lee Curtis and the Doctor are back for the ride and we discover the family secrets that Laurie and Michael share. A great ending with Michael walking through flames will leave you waiting for part III, unfortunately you had to wait for part IV.
Rating: Summary: Michael's Still Out There Review: "Halloween 2" continues where the original ended, October 31, 1978. Dr. Loomis shot Michael Myers six times, he fell from the second level of the house, and managed to walk away before Dr. Loomis could notice. This continued fight for Laurie Strode's life and the struggle to capture Michael Myers has many gripping scenes that make this sequel better than most other movie sequels. The multiple unexpected twists and turns give the horror genre a great name. Such action keeps audiences interested the whole time. In the meantime, secrets are revealed about Myers's motives, and the most surprising one is in this "Halloween" edition. All events blend wonderfully, leading to a powerful conclusion. Jamie Lee Curtis beautifully plays Strode, maintaining her character throughout the movie. All of her actions, namely her injury, are convincing. Donald Pleasence plays Dr. Loomis wonderfully, adding his own sense of struggle into the movie's theme. All other actors also perform their roles wonderfully. "Halloween 2" is a great movie to watch on Halloween or any other day that feels right. This is sure to please many horror movie fans. Anyone interested in watching this movie should watch part one first. Otherwise, everything will be confusing.
Rating: Summary: the nightmare isn't over Review: this is the 1981 follow-up to the 1978 classic. John Carpenter co-writes , co-produces but doesn't direct. this film could have been better if Carpenter had decided to direct it. there were rumors that Carpenter did direct a few scenes but he has regularly denied it. (Jamie Lee Curtis) returns as laurie. michael myers is played by (Dick Warlock who is the best and scariest micheal myers of them all. (Donald Pleasence) reprises his role as Dr. Loomis. Warlock follows Curtis to the small local hospital where she is taken for treatment. the hospital is only occupied by one security officer , one doctor and a few nurses including (Tawny Moyer) and (Pamela Susan Shoop) and two ambulance workers (Lance Guest) and (Leo Rossi). the films atmosphere is creepy with Warlock roaming the nearly empty hospital and the suspense really picks up when Warlock and Curtis meet up towards the end of the film. this film is not as good as the original (but how many sequels ever are?). Halloween 2 is good and IT'S THE ONLY SEQUEL THAT'S WORTH WATCHING AT ALL.

Rating: Summary: Halloween 2 Is A Decent Film, But Nowhere Near The First Review: John Carpenter's chilling 1978 classic "Halloween" was a true benchmark for terror. Anything following it would not stand a chance of being as good. While some 'Halloween' sequels were very good(4 and H20), some were also bad(3 and 6). This follow up to the original is in the 'good' category. The film, however, fails to capture the real terror of the original. It tries very hard. The story continues on the same night as the original. Laurie has been transfered to the Haddonfield hospital. Michael has survived(!)and overhears on a kid's radio that the victims have been taken to the hospital. The kid with the radio is the son of Dick Warlock who played Michael. There, Michael hacks his way thru the staff to get to Laurie. Dr. Loomis is hot on his trail. It is also in this film that we learn the truth behind Laurie and Michael's connection. So, in that regard, this movie is pivotal in the series' history. It is very eerily shot and looks good, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. It comes close at times. Director Rick Rosenthal definitley went to the ' John Carpenter School ' when he set out to direct this movie. He got the angles and the mood down right. What he didn't get down right was the characters and the emotional pull of the first film. The writers of this film also turned the Laurie Strode character into a nothing role. You rooted for her in the original, but in this one you barely remember she's even in the darn thing!. It was almost as if the Laurie Strode character was an after thought until the final chase and showdown in the climax. Donald Pleasence was great, but Jamie Lee Curtis was given way less to do. She has a much smaller part in this one. Her part kicks in in the last half. This film plays more like a standard "Friday The 13th" slasher film than the bloodless, suspense filled original. It works most of the time. The other characters in the movie don't fare as well as the few in the original. There is no one in the movie, besides Laurie, that you would care about one way or the other if they died or not. Very undeveloped. They are all just typical knife fodder who would of been just as useless in a Jason movie. Dick Warlock, as Michael Myers, is a very good Michael. At least I think so. He has the creep factor and the walk down pat. The mask is a little altered from the original. I have mixed feelings on the mask. Still, it's a fun, entertaining chapter to the series. Don't expect anything close to the original masterpiece. This film, along with the original and H20 make for a teriffic trilogy of films. The others, while some are okay, don't matter as much. Halloween 2 is not great art, but it's a fun horror film. It had a tough job to do to follow the classic original. It tried it's best, and even though it didn't completely succeed, it came okay. I enjoy it and I think any fan would too.

Rating: Summary: The Horror You Fought was over.... Review: JUST BEGAN AGAIN!! Picking up just where Halloween left off Michael is roaming around and decides to kill..again. The sheriff and Loomis team up again to finish Michael off once and for all. Meanwhile Michael is killing all the nurses one by one. Soon Laurie and Jimmy,a young man that's tooken intrest in her are the only ones left. Jimmy leaves Laurie and slips on blood. Laurie is soon told a family secret. That I WILL NOT TELL!! Loomis then sets the hospitial on fire leaving Michael once again for the dead. Then we see Michael walking away.
Rating: Summary: Just as frightening as the first Review: the first halloween is incredible there is no doubt and this great sequel is a bit less in comparison. Yet, compared to other movies in the horror genre, its a 5. You know what i always say: "Nighttime is screamtime when Mike myers is around." Myers is the king of fright, mark my words. This sequel sustains the greatness of its original better than any in the horror genre.
