Summary: One of the best sequels, supassing the original!
Review: The introduction of Jason as the killer is far more scarier than his mother in the first one. The deaths were more creative, and the great direction of Steve Miner was what makes this a classic horror movie, up there with the original Halloween. It's not the greatest story, but do you really want to have to think too much when you view a horror movie? A nice tight story, as this was, will do just fine. Jason is a more clever killer in this one than some of the latter movies (with the exception of part 3, another great movie). The spear scene in this one is only surpassed by the crushing head scene in part 3. Horror movies just don't do to you what they used to.

Summary: Good follow-up to a creepy classic
Review: Probably the only Friday film that offers a complete continuity between it and the first film, Part 2 ends with the most exciting chase scenes this side of Part 3. More technically polished than the original, but less creepy, Part 2 also offers a great cast (featuring the series' most fetching lead actress Amy Steel) and a few good shocks. Film is hampered only by the MPAA cut gore effects. DVD shines in the picture dept and the sound has never been better offering many ambiance sounds never noticed in the VHS versions. Equally, the letterboxed format offers some added picture to the sides of the frame. Recommended.

Summary: knifed
Review: If you thought the first one was so stupid it was worth something, have fun with this sequel! Even funnier and gorier than Part 1!

Summary: not so good
Review: I didn't like this one. This one just was stupid. it didn't have any real surprises. But still is pretty good overall

Summary: bloody awful!
Review: Surprised it didn't get the 1 star (or below) average from amazon reviewers. It simply shows how uncreative film maker can be, even in copying the original.

Summary: Part 2 the best sequel ever !
Review: Part 2 blows away the original. Jason in the hood over his head was a brillant idea. He was much creepier with the hood than the mask. Many might notice some similiarites with this movie and Halloween 2. A must see. Part 3 was even better.

Summary: Jason wears a grocery bag?
Review: Yes that's right, Jason wears a grocery bag instead of his custom Hockey Mask. More of the same graphic murders, including a double impaling with a spear, which happens to 2 teens having intercourse.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not a work of art, but still fun...
Review: Amy Steel could proably stand well as the best Friday heroione ever. She has a lot of strength that the others were missing. And am I missing something, or was 1981 a big year for people dying with hammer claws in the back of the head? It happened both here and in Halloween 2.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Better than the original!
Review: Perhaps the best sequel to a horror franchise ( other than psycho 2). What seperates this from the first one is the scares! There's heaps of them!!! Amy Steele gives a good performance and the chase scenes between her and Jason are truly suspenceful. Not as gory as the original but still heaps of fun!!!
