Summary: "Your A Vampire Michael!, Wait Til Mom Hears About This!..."
Review: This 1987 cult classic is a fun and wild good time. A mother and her two sons(Dianne Wiest, Jason Patric, Corey Haim), move to a coastal California town to live with the mom's Dad(Barnard Hughes). The boys soon discover that this picturesque little town isn't all it seems to be. Kiefer Sutherland is the leader of a group of vampires terrorizing the town. Big brother Michael(Patric)gets involved with them, thanks to a beautiful young woman he falls for(Jami Gertz). Then enters Corey Feldman. He plays a guy who knows the town's deadly secret and tries to help out the other Corey. Still with me?. Good. This was the first collaboration between the two Corey's, who would go on to do a number of films together. I'm sure their huge teenybopper status helped this film succeed at the box office. Edward Herrmann, who is a great actor, seems horribly miscast here. The rest of the cast is all very good. This isn't a heavy film that is meant to be taken seriously. It's a campy, comic book-ish type rollercoaster ride that is just supposed to be fun. And fun it definitley is. There are pinches of black comedy sprinkled throughout as well. Jason Patric delivers his best performance. Come to think of it, I can't really think of another Jason Patric performance besides the awful "Speed 2". Kiefer Sutherland rules the show tho. He's very good. All in all, this is fun entertainment not to be taken too seriously. Just have fun.

Summary: Great film for what it is - there's things to consider...
Review: First of all, this movies is GREAT for what it IS... It is directed to be a vampire flick with a teenage-comic twist... To cast a negative review on it by citing things such as "bad acting by Fieldman and Haim" is ridiculous... These two talented actors were simply playing a role... That's a key part of acting.Secondly, the film deserves props because it is very entertaining, and the casting was excellent... Patric is good as always... and Sutherland is just unbelievable... No one will ever be as cool as Kiefer Sutherland was in the Mid-Eighties... He is just the man... If you haven't seen the movie, and you think you might enjoy this kind of flick - give it a shot, it's worth it...
To those looking to bash it - get a life, and consider what the film was intended to be before you go off on a tirade... The Lost Boys Rocks

Summary: A CLASSIC TEEN FLICK BUT NO THAT SCARY
Review: I saw this film several years ago,The casting is actually very
good in this film,Dianne Wiest is she supposed to act like shes
on narcotics???Corey Haim was playing his usual style,Cheeky and in
some parts of the movie very funny,especially when Grandpa keeps
depositing dead animals on his bedside table,his facial expression is probably one of the funniest things ive seen.
Barnard Hughes as GRANDPA is very funny as well.
Joel Schumacher has a talent for choosing fresh faced young actors and the likes of the two Corey`s and Jason Patric was a good choice.
I noticed in another review that they wrote that they thought the Director was trying to make Corey Haims character SAM appear Gay by putting a picture of Rob Lowe on the wall this is possible as the film had a strong SAY NO TO DRUGS message within the story line.
All cast members were well chosen for there parts and Keifer Sutherland gives an excellent performance as DAVID

However the film is not scary,but it is entertaining and the beautiful photography within the movie is something to be remembered as well as the attractive young cast!!

Summary: REPULSIVE!
Review: I am going to be very blunt with this one because it's Teenage amateurish garbage movies like this that give the Horror Genre (what was once glamour, Hollywood, atmospheric settings, impressive castings, and good acting) a bad name. Words such as horrible, sickening, and stomach-turning don't even begin to describe this atrociously awful clunker of a movie. Those of you reading my review have probably scene this film at least a dozen of times, so I am not going to rehash the plot. This is another one of those movies that epitomizes everything that can make a film from a specific genre seem bad - it's all there. Bad acting, bad script with silly, inane dialogue, good soundtrack but we can't help but be reminded of our ordeals from the film itself. Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, and Jason Patric once again prove to me what atrociously bad actors they are. Dianne Wiest and Edward Herrmann are always fun to watch, but I'm sure they had something different in mind when they agreed to star in this movie. It's some miracle that their careers survived this trashy travesty. Let's see, what else? Oh yes, just a very bad imagery, that even Joel Schumacher with his occasional blunders in films seems quite unconventional. Jason Patric with his usual horrible accent (with the exception of Kiefer Sutherland, that's a contagious commodity for all the other young actors in this movie), long curly hair, black leather jacket, and shabby jeans - perhaps a popular look in 1987. Look at Mel Gibson in LETHAL WEAPON - yup, same look, very unattractive. Look at Richard Marx from his first selling album, uh huh. He already looks ugly enough without the vampire make-up. Those of you vampire film buffs who prefer to "live in the past" might find some form of enjoyment from this, especially for Halloween scares, but if so do it in privacy - there are much better Horror flicks than this you can be investing your time into instead. Add all of this up, and what do you get - a very bad movie that makes me ashamed to think that today movies equally, more than this, or even beyond horrible are still being made! For those of you who disagree with me, I'm sorry but I would find much more entertainment in a pleasant Evening at the Pops Opera than I would with this.

Review: I REMEMBER FIRST SEEING THIS MOVIE WHEN I WAS 7 AND IT HAS BEEN A FAVORITE OF MINE EVEN SINCE,THIS MOVIE BEINGS BACK ALOT OF MEMORIES,YES I ADMIT THE HUMOR IS SOMETIMES A LITTLE CORNY BUT IT DOESNT MATTER,THIS MOVIE HAS A GOOD CAST,BEAUTIFUL CAMERA SHOTS OF THE AMUSEMENT PARK AND THE WATER AND IT HAS A KIK ... SOUNDTRACK,SO EVEN IF YOUR NOT A FAN OF VAMPIRE OR HORROR MOVIES IT IS STILL WORTH VIEWING BECAUSE I THINK IT WAS ONE OF THE MORE IMPORTANT MOVIES TO COME OUT IN THE 80'S AND IF U GREW UP IN THE 80'S IT WILL BEING BACK MEMORIES TOO :)

Summary: The mother of all vampire movies!
Review: This is my absolute favorite vampire movie of all time. Funny, scary, and hip, this film has truly stood the test of time to become a classic. I really appreciate that the humor comes not from the vampires themselves (I don't care for funny vampires), but from the other characters -- the younger brother, the grandpa, and the vampire hunters (who are absolutely hysterical). Diane Wiest is delightfully frustrated as the mom, and Kiefer Sutherland is the creepiest I have ever seen him. "The Lost Boys" grabs you by the jugular (pun intended) and doesn't let go until the end...which, by the way, has the best closing line in a movie, ever.

Review: I love this movie. It is my favorite movie of all time. It is very funny. It has totally hot guys. I love the 80's clothes, music and hairdo's. I have loved this movie since I first saw it when I was only 10, I am 20 now and still feel the same about it. Now I can get it on DVD, since my old tape copy had been watched so many times it was worn out. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves mystery, fantasy, and humor.

Enter Sam (Corey Haim) streetwise,just scoping the store,-he does'nt beleive in Vampires.Sam's Brother is Michael (Jason Patric),he believes,in Star (Jami Gertz).Star believes,in David.David (Kiefer Sutherland),believes.A cool Rock Soundtrack,performances with attitude,stuffed animals by Grandpa,Vampires on bikes,beaches,and Jami Gertz is Star,this adds up to something cool.1987,now memorable. Warner have transferred "The Lost Boys" to DVD in it's original aspect ratio-2.35:1,and the picture is stunning,to say the least.Pin sharp throughout,never has "The Lost Boys" looked so good,and the sound quality also,does justice;The Fairground ride noises,the motorbikes,even the Vampires flying through the air,crystal clear.The only thing really missing from this DVD is some cool extras;maybe Warner Bros.and Joel Schumacher will surprise us,soon.Overall,Excellent entertainment,picture and sound quality to match,and reasonably priced,4/5.

Review: In "The Lost Boys," Jason Patric and Corey Haim play the two sons of the recently-become-single Dianne Wiesst, who move with her back to the small, coastal, California town where she grew up. This town is unusual in two key respects. First, it has a really cool amusement park. Second, it is totally overrun by blood-sucking, demonic creatures of darkness and part time Jim Morrison fans -- yes, that's right, vampires. Corey Haim becomes friends with the Poe brothers, Edgar and Allen, played by Corey Feldman and an actor who looks sort of like a cross between a young Scott Baio and Ralph Machhio from "The Karate Kid." The Poe brothers give him the lowdown on their hometown. He disbelieves them at first, but later comes to call upon the vampire-slaying expertise they have acquired as professional merchants of horror comic books. Meanwhile, Jason Patric has developed the mutually reciprocated hots for the gypsy-wild Jami Gertz, whose homelessness in no way compromises her considerable babe-ossitude, and who, it turns out, is a sort of vampire moll. This movie combines humor and horror in an unusual, very successful manner. It reminds me of "Scream" in that way, or the old Abbott and Costello horror movies. The only problem with this movie, as far as I can tell, is that it doesn't deliver quite enough goods. It might have benefitted from one more juicy subplot, for example. That said, it's still a lot of fun, and it has a tremendous soundtrack if you can find it. Two thumbs up.
