Summary: Amazing
Review: This movie is probably the most important film in the industry of horror type films. it started the whole mask wearing phase that we still go through today. It also started some of todays hottest carrers ok maybe not so hot but it did start them.

The whole thing i dont understand about the people who like this movie or who comment on it is that they always say he stalked babysitters. Michael didnt stalk babysitters he stalked his family members and killed whoever got in his way.

As far as the characters there are three very important roles The shape himself(best played by nick castle in H1 and Brad loree in H8) in my personal opinion, DR. Sam Loomis, ANd Lory strode. without these characters the movies are garbage as you can see through out Halloween 3. The shape is basicaly the imbodiment of evil its self michael is evil in it purest form.

And his character is well brought up through out the series.

Summary: THE INTRODUCTION OF MICHAEL MYERS
Review: THIS IS THE 1978 CLASSIC THAT STARTED IT ALL. A BOY NAMED MICHAEL MYERS MURDERS HIS SISTER AND LANDS IN THE ASYLUM. YEARS LATER, HE ESCAPES AND GOES AFTER HIS OTHER SISTER [JAMIE LEE CURTIS]. THIS IS NOTHING SHORT OF A MASTERPIECE. THIS FILM LAUNCHED THE CAREERS OF JAMIE LEE CURTIS AND FILM DIRECTOR JOHN CARPENTER. DONALD PLEASEANCE [R.I.P.] GIVES HIS FINEST PERFORMANCE OF HIS CAREER AS DR. LOOMIS, THE MAN WHO TRIES TO STOP MICHAEL FROM GOING ON HIS KILLING SPREE AND MURDERING HIS SISTER. THIS IS A REALLY GREAT FILM. RIGHT NEXT TO ''PSYCHO'', THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST HORROR MOVIES OF ALL TIME. I'D RECCOMEND THIS TO ANY MOVIE BUFF. LIKE MANY HORROR MOVIES, FOLLOWED BY TOO MANY SEQUELS.

Summary: Pointless
Review: I'm sorry but I just don't see why everybody loves this movie. Don't get me wrong, I love horror movies, but Halloween is just pointless. I just can't get into a movie where the killer can't die. They've got to have some sort of weakness. I could hardly stay awake for this film. Personally I like horror movies like Evil Dead, The Re-Animator, and Suspiria a lot better than this ...

Summary: Trick Or Treat Or Else...
Review: This is John Carpenter's horror masterpiece! A relentless, terrifying, almost mystical experience. I still jump whenever Michael appears! You know the story. Michael Myers escapes from the mental institution (where he's been for 15 years) on Halloween night. Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) tracks him back to his home town of Haddonfield Illinois. This is where Michael killed his older sister 15 years earlier (when he was six). Meanwhile, Jamie Lee Curtis is getting ready for a boring evening of babysitting. She's in for a huge surprise! Halloween grabs you by the throat, without a drop of blood, unlike other lesser movies of it's type. Carpenter left much to our own imaginations, trusting in our ability to scare ourselves silly! Watch it on Halloween night for added creepiness...

Summary: Best Slasher Film Ever!!
Review: When a little six year old boy named Micheal Myers stabs his sister in cold blood to death, then you got one Hell of a problem. John Carpenters Halloween set the standards for every slasher movie to date, John Carpenter is a genuis, Next to Remero and his Dead films. Im not to crazy about the sequels to this film, but Halloween will always be a great movie. Micheal Myers Stabs His sister to death and is sent away to a Maximum Security Hospital for life, But escapes in a stolen station wagon, driven by Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence), Who's Mission is to find Myers and put him away for good before lives are risked. Anyway, Micheal goes after his sister Lorrie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) Who changed her Last name because of her Psycho Brother, and some of her friends who get in the way, and its up to Dr. Loomis to stop him. John Carpenter even made up the creepy music score on a piano himself. This film is as good as it can get, it gets two thumbs up.

Summary: boring
Review: I am truly sorry to everybody else loved this film but I totally hated it. I do not understand why this so good, it was one of the most boringest films I have ever scene. For crying out loud, I nearly fell asleep when watching this. It had no plot, this movie gave no explaination whatsoever to why Myers was after Jaime Lee Curtis. As far as I am concererned, See Nightare on elm street, it has a better plot and it isn't boring. Once again, No offense to those who loved this but I didn't so that is why I am leaving my name anonymous so no one gives me hat emails.

Summary: Best Horror film ever
Review: This is easily the best of the Halloween films, and in my opinion the best horror film in history! Its got Michael Myers the greatest and ruthless killer in the history of killers. Jamie Lee Curdes, a very sexy woman who plays the Killers victom! Donald Presence is the star of the movie he plays a doctor who has been working with Michael Myers since he was a kid and thinks there is no stopping Michael at all! This Movie is one of the few killer movies to ever scare me and it does so because of the scary music, it gets me ever time! And Michael has such confedince with how the vitoms run and he walks really slow like "Your not getting away!" SO as you see this movie is a must own a reall classic!

Summary: Halloween has thrills and spills
Review: After persistant coaxing from my horror-film loving sister that this was 'the definitive scary movie', and that i would be missing out if i did not view it, i recently decided to wtach this very famous horror film that i had previously known little about. I was at first fairly hesistant about watching this film-for 2 reasons. 1. I am not really a fan of this genre, and 2. I have found out in my limited horror film knowledge that 80% or so of these 'hack and slash' films are nothing more than [...] Having these two facts firmly in mind as the opening credits rolled, i did not realise i was in for a decent surprise.
The film's premise, as has often been discussed, is extremely simple. 15 years after the brutal murder of his sister, madman Michael Myers escapes from his supposedly secure mental home and returns to his home town of Haddonfield on Halloween night to force a terrifying night of carnage on the teens of the town.
The story perhaps sounds too simple to work, but it performs on a variety of levels. My view of this film is that it works on a very promising background of tension that forces an underlying creepiness throughout the whole picture, so even when nothing particularly scary is happening, the viewer always wants to avert their eyes. But never ends up doing so, for this is a compelling film. I far prefer horrors that attempt to use suspense as a weapon of terror than using blood-drenched effects to disgust the viewer. Halloween is a case in point. Unlike many modern films, it is virtually bloodless, and although there are several disturbing sequences and jump out of your seat moments, the body count is surprisingly low and there is virtually no use of gore. But like other masterful horror films, this does not prevent it from being scary.
Although perhaps not something to absoulutely terrify a viewer, Halloween hs the capability to have more sensitive viewers totally freaked out. My next point as to why this is a good film is it's orignality. Although there have been countless imitators by now, it must be remembered that Halloween was the original slasher and therefore must recieve extra credit (some may argue that PSYCHO was the true original, and in Hallowen there are many references to this film, but i argue that PSYCHO was more of a thriller than a horror).
The performances in the movie are very good, particularly the late Donald Pleasence, who plays a wild-eyed local sheriff and doctor of Myers, who first realises the carnage that will unfold if Myers is not stopped soon enough, and the 'scream queen' herself, Jamie Lee-Curtis.
All these ingredients add up to the film that redefined terror and make Halloween a definative addition to any film collection, and i would recommended this film to anyone who appreciates true horror.
Here Halloween is presented in the latest DVD edition, remastered and revamped, making it even more of a must-buy.Now, against advice, i will crusade to watch the numerous sequels.
