Rating: Summary: Eliza Dushku - The ONLY reason to watch this rubbish!!!!!!!! Review: In short, "Wrong Turn" is REALLY bad. Bad effects, bad acting, bad directing, stupid costumes & an even more stupid storyline. If you like this, you're not a horror fan. +++++++++++++++ PLEASE NOTE!! The ONLY reason you should watch this is because of Eliza Dushku's amazingly good looks - she's hot. :) +++++++++++++++ DON'T BUY!!!!!! (I would give this this ZERO stars if I could).
Rating: Summary: AWESOME Review: Extremely scary, great picture and sound quality, a real back woods adventure!
Rating: Summary: C.H.I.D. (Cannibalistic Hillbilly Inbred Dweebers)... Review: Yessiree, don't get caught out in these here woods! There's a family consisting of three mutant mountaineers known as "Three Finger", "One Eye", and "Saw Tooth" (No, they're not played by the members of Motorhead). These guys are icky to the bone! They live in a ramshackle cabin, deep in the woods, cut off from all civilization and it's hygiene. Here, in their crumbling palace of filth, our demonic defectives perform unholy acts of torture, mutilation, and canning, in order to slake their taste for human flesh. Imagine 3 Jeffrey Dahlmers helping each other in the kitchen! Yuck!! Enter Eliza Dushku and a group of five other young'uns, who wind up stranded in these woods after a car crash. Not a good spot for a hike for help! Four of the six leave to find assistance, while two stay behind to smoke pot and have sex. Of course, they're easy prey for the mutated trio of terror! Meanwhile, Ms. Dushku and Co. stumble upon the creepy cabin, and can't help but go in and rummage around. When will kids ever learn?? They discover many jars full of the hellish homeowners' gooey snacks! Uh-Oh! The mutants have returned with their latest catch! What now? Well, the rest is a combination of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Deliverance, The Hills Have Eyes, and some cool original elements tossed in for good measure. Eliza Dushku is beautiful and talented. She has a knack for being tough as well as victimized. Could she be the next Jamie Lee Curtis? WT is another in a recent line of hollywood horror movies (like THE RING, GOTHIKA, etc.) that are actually pretty decent. I hope it continues...
Rating: Summary: Very enjoyable movie Review: Alright first of all, yes this movie is certainly not going to be for everyone, if the thought of seeing someone getting chopped up with a rusty butchers-hatchet then this is obviously a movie that you are going to have to pass on.Yes I also admit that the movie borrows a bit from other movies (The Texas Chainsaw Massacare, Deliverance) but even with this knowledge I can definately recommend Wrong Turn. First of all the concept is not really realistic but not entirely cooky neither, remember up north there are woods that we cannot even begin to know what's inhabiting them, so remember that as you watch the movie, it adds something to the atmosphere. As far as the characters go I felt that the mountain men were in fact a little over the top, more like something you would see in Lord of the Rings, but still they will frighten you a few times, and as far as the leading actress goes I believe that Eliza Dusku delivers the best performance of her career, proving that she can carry a movie by herself, of course the fact that is beautiful to look at doesn't hurt either. Now this isn't a classic, it has all the flaws I discussed above but still I believe it's a movie that will terrify you at times, and make an hour and half go by extremely fast, highly recommended if you can look past the gore.
Rating: Summary: Wrong Turn Review: One of the better horror flicks I've seen in a long time. Excellent cast gave a convincing performance. It's like Deliverence meets Texas Chainsaw Masacre! Though I did feel that the mountain men "creatures" were a bit over-done. Less would have been better with them. They were a bit too grotesque, which made them look a bit phony. Even though their faces were supposedly taken from photos of real people with those types of deformities. But inspite of that, they will give you a chill. You'll be on the edge of your seat!
Rating: Summary: I was expecting a 3, but I got a 5 Review: I didn't go in expecting this movie to be anything more than a 3-star slasher (at that was only because of the actors attached). Fortunetly it turned out that the story was as good as the cast. If you love horror movies you will love this movie.
Rating: Summary: DEAD END Review: Yet another testament to the fact that there hasn't been a good horror film made this century. NOTHING in it was scary unless you haven't seen all the movies that got ripped off to make this disaster, ie if you aren't old enough to drive. Completely predictable shlock. Commentary from the director states he was trying to make a 70s-style horror movie--Deliverance for one--which IS NOT A HORROR MOVIE. The "mountain men" in Wrong Turn are so ludicrous and over the top yet they completely PALE in comparison to the freaks in Deliverance. The crazy mountain men house was such a blatant rip-off of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre yet had absolutely none of its predecessor's fright value. I don't know about you but every time I go into the woods and find a house I break into it and open all the jars in the fridge because you never know. Plus I thought it was funny how the mountain men were fooled not once but twice by some hotty darting out of the bush screaming "Here I am!" so as to serve as a decoy. Hey, works every time! Maybe it's just me, but if I was fleeing a trio of mutated mountain men I don't think I'd hide in the only lighted tower around for miles and yell into a radio receiver. As for the commentary... The only thing more shallow and cliched than this movie were the moronic remarks of Eliza "I'm a like totally brain dead cheerleader like" Dushku. Listening to her was truly more terrifying than anything in Wrong Turn. Wonder if she's inbred....
Rating: Summary: Wrong Turn (2003) Review: P>Delightfully scary, but sometimes overracted, horror movie ALMOST captures the essence of earlier related films like "TCM" and 2001's "Jeepers Creepers," but not fully. It still has the teen-slasher feel to it, but it is beautifully photographed and well scripted. Eliza Dushku is sexy and perfect for her role, and Desmond Harrington is excellent as Chris. The mountain-men are extremely scary villains and if I had of watched this during the night instead of daytime, I would've had some freaky nightmares. Unexpectedly good film and definitely not a waste of time.
Rating: Summary: Scary as Hell!!! Review: My Tital says it all! scary as hell! this is one of the most scary movies to come out in a long time!!! anyways its about this guy that is trying to get to this thingy (cant remember) and he takes this short cut, ends up crashing, and everything just starts going down hill from there and they basically all die, except two of them! pretty good and way intense! if you are thinking about buying it...DO IT!
Rating: Summary: By The Numbers Review: After reading the reviews here on Amazon, I'm wondering if we all saw the same movie. But there is only one WRONG TURN and, man, did I take it. Eliza Dushku is a knock-out but, if you stare at the photo of her on the DVD box, you've pretty much seen everything she's going to do in this movie. That beautiful face looking scared and lots of running. The grotesque hillbilly cannibals are undeveloped monsters who menace the 90210-looking cast. Strictly by-the-numbers drive-in monster movie, minus the humor and titillation of the B-movies from the 70's. Every scene will look and feel familiar.
