Rating: Summary: 10 years too late! Maybe? but i dont think so Review: Ever since the 1993 film "Jason Goes To Hell" (Friday the 13th 9) when Jason was sucked into hell and his masked remained on the ground, and unexpectedly Freddys glove pops out of the ground to grab the hockey mask and pull it down before it cuts to black with frddys evil laugh people were exciting to know that Freddy And Jason where about to be seen together and not know what to expect?Well, Personally, After all these years of waiting, the feeling of wanting to see that had been almost forgotten and this film all of a sudden popped up and I was thinking it was somthing they should have done shortly after JGTH but never arrived, and IMO this movie is overdue and didnt deliver all as well as hoped for! but forgivness is found on the bonus discs as they explain that it took ten years and 17 scripts later to finally find one that would work!! The disapointment for me was the effects I was hoping to see. When I heard the team who where doing the SFX was the same team who did the great death scenes in "Final Destination 2" I was really excited about what they could do with this film! But sadly the effects and killings where no where near as good and disapointed in alot of ways! but they still managed to create some awsome death scenes! The plot you shouldve read or know about already is about Freddy Krueger who has been forgotten about, authorities have covered up any trace of his exsistance and the teenagers of Springwood have no idea who Freddy is! The ones who did know where all sent to a mental home and almost prison like kept there! Freddy has no power if no one is scared of him, he still has his ability to controll the dream world and enter nightmares but without any fear giving him power, he's weak and cannot do any harm. So he searches the bowels of hell ,so he says and finds Jason Voorhees who he reserects and sends out to spread the fear amongst the children and make them remember him so he can return to what he does as the dream demon! At first things are going to plan, but one thing Freddy didnt count on or expect...Jason is more into killing then he is and Freddy cannot stop Jason from killing all of his suppossed victoms! And when Freddy is ticked and decides to throw Jason aside like trying to throw away a useless wrapper off a candy bar, he finds out that it is more harder then he could imagine, and the battle is on to see who is the better of the two? Is it Freddys quickness and smart witts? Or Jasons strength and stamina? youll have to see for yourself the outcome of the battle to see which winner kills all! This movie of two of the screens biggest slashers locking horns is a decent movie! If your into slasher films then this one is ok! I personaly didnt find it scary, but thats me, and wasnt really satasfyd with waiting 10 years for it. but it wasnt all that bad! But i recomend you rent first, then decide if you want to buy it? The bonus features, features some cool stuff, but not really memorable IMO. One thing i was particuly disapointed about was somthing i saw just before the movie was released with a behind the scenes look on the film, and England and Jason where in an interveiw and Freddy was muckign around acting silly saying he could have gone up against a 1 foot doll (chucky) or that Michael Myers guy ..what is he a mime? Englad said... it was funny. But all in all, its pretty packed with worth while material! For those of you who have the DVD and havent found these yet, then i'll tell you where some hidden eggs are!(all on disc 2) 1. go to THE PRODUCTION, go to the second page of it, highlight "development hell" and press the RIGHT arrorw (->) you should see some slash marks highlited now? press enter! you will get a few minutes of the making of a scene at the end of the film! 2. go to the deleted scenes submenu, highlt the arrorw at the bottem that points right, and then press up(^) and you should get another one of those slasher markings, press enter! you will get an interveiw about a proposed ending to the film that didnt get used! 3. go to the production, then go to VISUAL EFFECTS, on the next screen press right(->) and select those slash marks again and you will see a computer made story board of a scene!
Rating: Summary: Awsome. Review: I am still waiting for my F v J DVD from amazon, since the zone 4 version doesnt have any special features i decided to by the zone 1 DVD. Now, on to the movie: This movie rocked, its better then any nightmare on elm street or friday the 13th. Freddys make up looks much better and scarier. Also Freddy doesnt crack so many jokes or stupid deaths, and we get to see his true power of the dream world. The plot line is Freddys in hell and every thing about him in springwood has been covered up, so with no one to remember him, he cant come back, so he ressurects jason voorhees by prentending to be his mother commands him to go to elm street and start killing the teenagers. Jason does so, and the police think freddys behind this and some teenagers learn about freddy which brings him back, but jason won't step aside and give up his murderous ways, so now freddy must defeat jason, some teenagers get caught up in the middle and must stop these evil immortal intitys who are turning elm street and camp crystal lake into hell on earth. Who will win? buy it and find out, you definetly wont be dissapointed,Trust me.
Rating: Summary: GREAT MOVIE Review: THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME GREAT FIGHT SCEENS AND ALL GREAT MUSIC TOO
Rating: Summary: FREDDY VS. JASON DVD Review! Review: For more than ten years, fans have awaited a cinematic meeting between Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees. In 2003, their wish was finally granted. Doing its best to mix the legacies of both the "Nightmare On Elm Street" and "Friday The 13th" films without ruining either, "Freddy Vs. Jason" does a compendable job but in the end, sets the expectations far too high to ever meet them succesfully. "Freddy Vs. Jason" has the evil child killer, Freddy, using Jason to instill fear in a new generation of teenagers at Fred's old Elm St. stomping grounds. Seems that now that Freddy is out of the picture, he is all but forgotten and thus has no power. When Jason shows up and dismembers a handful of kids, the authorities are lead to believe that it is actually Krueger doing all the killings. This puts Freddy back in the game but Jason isn't quite ready to go on the bench just yet. "Freddy Vs. Jason" arrives a few years too late to be the best product it could be. The title fight is an amazing highlight in all-out graphic mayhem but the boring human characters make the story drag at moments (though the gorgeous Monica Keena does have her moments). Any fan of either franchise is going to want see this but it doesn't quite live up to all its hype. Englund is excellent as always in his portrayal of Krueger but Kane Hodder is sorely missed in the role of his nemesis. This DVD is packaged well with tons of great features packed over two discs. You get a commentary track from director Ronny Yu joined by Robert "Freddy" Englund and Ken "Jason" Krieger. There are a number of featurettes though there is no Jason footage from the first eight Friday films, due to the fact that Paramount owns the rights. There are a number of in-depth features that speak about the different "Freddy Vs. Jason" scripts that had been floating around before the film was finally put together. All in all, if you enjoyed the movie, you will want to get the DVD.
Rating: Summary: WORTH WAITING FOR! Review: I remember hearing about this idea in 1985 in an issue of Famgoria magazine. Now, 18 years later, it finally made it to the silver screen! Was it worth the wait? For me it was!The film single handidly ressurects both franchises("Friday the 13th", "Nightmare") so look for those movies the continue as the U.S. box office for this film broke $85 million!Gore, camp, and over the top action, this film packs a punch! True, it ain't Shakepear, but it wasn't meant to be! This is possibly the EPIC "B" horror film! My only dissapointment was not seeing Betsey Palmer in the role of Jason's mother, Pamela.
Rating: Summary: pretty good Review: this is a fun movie to watch, it acturally feels more like a Nightmare on Elm Street movie with a guest apearence from Jason, cause the movie is mostly based around Freddy, which is a good thing cause Jason is a stooge
Rating: Summary: Great film......bad ending Review: Freddy vs jason to most people is a horror masterpiece. Though the film is very violent with horny misfortunes tennagers lurking around from the 2 maniacs I have to say the ending dissapointed me very much. I wanted to see them fight to the finish! Not some frightend youg women kill em.... I heard there will be a sequal. Over all the movie kicks a$$ and I loved the way jasons close desighn was. He rules! If you wanna see alota gore and hack and slash this is the right film for you. Later
Rating: Summary: Not so bad ! Review: I gave up Freddy's and Jason's films for a longtime (from cheap to cheaper production with bad to worst stories/screenplay I had enough), But I was curious to see those two freaks together in a flick. My curiosity paid. It was actually not as bad as I was expected. I found it enjoyable even if wasn't scary at all but kind of funny mainly, and even if the fight between the two nasty and ugly looks like a Kung-Fu scenes sometimes. Produced by the original Friday the 13th director, it is compared to many of the Horror genre movies released those last years, not the worst of all. It was a cool moment, very predictable of course and full of bad acting as usual. Christopher Marquette is the only one actor to do it fine.SFX are quite cool and I guess good money has been spent in. The dialogue are quite stupid and will make you laugh nervously. So if you are looking for some non-serious moment with your two favorites ugly, bald and nasty...Go for it. (A sequel of this NEVERENDING fight is already in talks)
Rating: Summary: Not Worthy AT ALL Review: Wow, did you know they have been talking about making this movie for over 10 years? Let me tell you when i brought this movie home i was expecting it to be something special. i mean as the making of this movie you would think the producers of it would really want to make it to be remembered something with a high budget, painstakingly thought over, a whole new way of bringing the watcher into a film that already had many people either in hopes for the project to be a blast or for it to be a flop. still people wanted to see it. litterally i think that all the people who are giving this movie "FIVE STARS!!!!" must be 13-15 years of age because they do not seem to require much to be pleased. i must say that it is a sort of sad fact that it will take them 10 years to realise the were "RIPPED!!" Oh my god this movie sucked so bad man wow.. the plot suck the makeup sucked the effects were nothing short of letdowns. wow i would even give a half-way sucky movie a chance and then degrade it but wow.. i mean really this movie just proves to me that the people who made it wanted to make money. thats all i have to say. oh um... besides, "IT SUCKS!!!"
Rating: Summary: The Ultimate Battle of Evil vs. Evil Review: Freddy Krueger is in hell, literally! And like an inmate with a life sentence, he's plotting a fantastic revenge, all he needs is a little help. In steps Jason Voorhees, the equally iconic madman and perfect means for Freddy to once again instill fear on Elm Street. As the bodies begin to pile up, it becomes clear that Jason isn't willing to step aside. With a terrified town in the middle, the two horror icons enter into a horrifying and gruesome showdown. Winner kills all! I had been waiting for this movie for a long time. Even though I've only been a Jason fan for about 4 years now, I can understand where people would see this movie coming. Ever since that final shot in Jason Goes to Hell, New Line had been prolonging the inevitable, and finally we have it in our own living rooms! I saw this in the theatre opening day, and was completely blown away by it. Now having the DVD, I have watched it at least 22 times to date. This movie is fantastic! Freddy, who I normally don't care for, was pretty cool in this flick. I liked his voice, it had a deep, evil tone, and the scene where he became so angry that he turned red as a tomato and came flying out of Crystal Lake was something that hadn't been done in the Freddy or Jason movies before, so I saw that as kind of a cool new twist. Jason, ah, my favorite. Jason definitely owns the show here. Though Mr. Hodder did not return as the mask donning maniac, long time stunt man and stand-in for F13 Part VIII wore the mask this time, and I must say that he did a fantastic job. Ken's Jason had more personality and wasn't just a walking, retarded killing machine. Let alone the fact that this Jason is much bigger and stronger than we've seen him in any of the other movies. Kirzinger's portrayal of Jason Voorhees was excellent, to say the least, and I would love to see him return in the sequel (which I hear is in the works). Heh, well, the supporting cast was alright. There were plenty of acting moments that you could tell were fake...hell, the acting in this movie was pretty lame. I really only saw it to see the J man kick Freddy's butt, and for the most part he did in terms of taking hits and not dying. My favorite non-killer actor was Kelly Rowland. When she was on screen making fun of Freddy...man, that was just funny. But, I would like to point out that there are some VERY good-looking gals in this film, including Katherine Isabelle and the astonishing (looks) Monica Keena. Though the LIVING actors are bad, the eye candy is plentiful. I just want to point out the main title sequence. That has to be the most creative thing I've seen them do for a title in a movie yet. The CGI skin being sliced away, the blood splattering and forming into the steaming letters FREDDY VS. JASON during an awesome song...man, gotta love it! As long as I'm on the subject of music, I believe the music went well with this movie. Graeme Revell knew just where to pick up the pace during a fight scene or slow it down during some suspenseful moments. Kudos to Mr. Revell. Ah, and how could I forget the fight scenes?!?! Those were great, as well. Lots of blood, lots of gore, and some of it got kind of creative. As when Jason picks Freddy up, slams him through the window in the cabin, and just runs him down the wall, using Freddy to break each window. I thought that was good. Also, the dream world fight scene was great, though I'm not so sure about the "pin ball" (Freddy using his dream powers to throw Jason around) sequence. Jason moved way too fast for a 6 foot 8 inch 275 pound serial killer. Other than that, the fight scenes were great...could have been a LITTLE better, and they could have given Jason a few more shots than he got. All in all, this film was good, had a few lapses, but good enough to give closer to a five star rating over a four. In total, I give Freddy vs. Jason a 4.6 out of 5. If you're a Freddy or Jason fan, you will not be disappointed. Thanks for reading!
