Summary: Nothing to See Here, Folks...
Review: Let's face it: the "slasher" genre is, for the most part, dead. There are a few exceptions, I guess, "28 Days Later" being the most recent "original" addition to the genre, though even that had its repitive roots in the 1980's. "Freddy Vs. Jason" was doomed from the get-go. Here we have TWO rehashed villians that have overstayed their welcome time and time...and time again. Don't get me wrong: I liked these characters when they were, what we call, "new." Between the two, nearly twenty sequels have been born, none of which able to live up to their predecessors. "Freddy Vs. Jason" offers us nothing new--it's rehashed material not worth sitting through, really.

It's worth a laugh, this film. From start to finish, it's almost a parody of itself. The "heroes"--if you can even call them that--seem overly stereotypical, the plot so inconsisent the film seems even to laugh at itself, and the two villians more annoying that frightening. My friends and I found the film a riot, picking it apart from start to finish, questioning every moment of this tripe. For those who call themselves die-hard fans of either Freddy, Jason, or perhaps both, arguing with me won't get anything done...this film is insulting even to the most dedicated viewer. This film's distributor should worry more of the fans that are being robbed out of their money than those like myself that have never really found either villian "scarier than hell."

It's a subpar slasher flick. I have yet to see the newest version of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," but I'm weary of even that. What happened to originality? To thought? Maybe dollar signs got in the way a long time ago. And that's a shame. These used to be two respectable franchises...now both are the laughingstock of the genre. (For a moment I thought I stumbled upon a sneak-peak of "Scary Movie 3.")

I heard somewhere that the original Jason wanted to reprise his role for this film...if there is any truth behind this, at least he has the pleasure of saying he was never a part of this tired sequel's-sequel's-sequel's-whatever. I hope this is their last attempt to resurrect these two super-villians. Let them rest. Maybe they'll one day recover this mistake.

Skip it.

Summary: You're stupid if you think this movie is Stupid!
Review: I saw Freddy Vs. Jason the day it came out with some friends, and I must say that it has become one of my favorite horror movies along with Carrie and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003! Some have been saying that the plot is weak, and when you think about it, you couldn't be more wrong!! No one is scared so Freddy can't kill, so he ressurects Jason to scare up old terrors and will take over when it is all said and done, but Jason is liking the idea of slaughtering horny geeky teens, so he wants to stay around and Freddy hates this idea, and wants to kill him...GREAT PLOT for the fans of the series! If you never really followed to the 2 series ( Nightmare and Friday ) then don't complain about this, cuz you obviously know nothing about it!! So keep you lame oppinions to yourself! The acting was good and so was the score ( for you movie illiterate people the music lol ) Sure almost all critics hated it but that's because they grew up with pansey movie like Steel Magnolias and crap like that...This is OUR generation! So you live in yours and we'll live in ours and you don't tell us Freddy Vs. Jason sucked and we won't tell you that you suck, understoond?! : ) Well, back to teh movie, it was incredibaly good, some of the acting was..off, but it was made up for with some of Freddy's quips. like telling Kelly Rowland that he wanted dark meat! What a cleaver line! Then when he was...doing the dead lady on the deck on Crystal Lake and said something along the lines, she's be good if she wasn't dead! Who gets paid for this stuff!! They should deffinitaly be doubled in sallary! The audience I was with was laughing the whole time! This was in all an ver good movie, a mix of comedy and terror, even though the terror wasn't so scary, but it was there none the less! And I chose the wrong frined to go with cuz she knew nothing about the series and every minute she would ask me what's goin on and I would be like shut up but it was fun cuz at the begining when the girl is naked, my friend screams "I have better than that!" She's a riot to go to the movies with! I can't wait for it to come out on DVD in December, and I can't wait for the sequel and prequel! They are gonna ROCK!! Just like this movie did! I can only say to Hollywood, don't listen to the critics, listen to the teens! We are the ones who kept This movie at #1 for a month and grossed it's 36mill on the opening weekend, the critics only watch it to get paid...so keep producing them for the FANS!!!!

Summary: Jason should have been treated better.
Review: Being now 19 yrs. old, I can honestly say that Jason is the ultimate horror icon to me and was VERY pleased with Freddy Vs. Jason. However, after waiting half of my life for this glorious day of watching Jason severely murder ole' Freddy, it didn't turn out that way. Yes, the movie was excellent and I watched it 5 times and never got bored. The special effects are great, much blood is intact and the murderous Jason pleased my appetite well. To me,New Line favored Fred more only b/c it brought them money since 1984. So of course, Freddy was in thier favor. The two fight scenes were well made and freddy did get his kicks in as well. The opening scene where Jason is resserected by Freddy was quite pleasing as well. BUT, altogether, Freddy Vs. Jason was nothing more than a nightmare movie than anything else. In the original script, Freddy was to die and never return, but Yu didn't want to upset the fans of either frachise, so he gave Freddy the main story and Jason got what he does best; viciously murder people. IN the end we see Jason emerge from the water once more holding his new enemy's head in hand. this proves that Jason seemed victorious and leaves the cabin door open for a possible sequal. Hopefully Jason and yes, even Freddy, will go back to their solo films and let this most anticipated horror movie of all time reign in the sunlight and be known for it's vivid images of gore, sex, and comical sattire that is filtered throughout the movie. I hope that this outlook on the movie helped those who cannot seem to get the concept of reality that in the real world jason would've destroyed Freddy with a few deathblows. However, those who haven't seen this, I must say that this is definately superior to the latest sequals, but be warned. Freddy is the one New Line seems to favor and our good ole' Jason voorhees didn't really get his respect in which he deserves. I pray that in further movies, he will get back what's righfully his: The death of Freddy and a contract to another 20 years of delight.

Summary: Awesome Awesome Awesome!
Review: I have been a fan of both series ever since I was a kid and for probably 18 years now I have waited to see a movie with Freddy and Jason together. Finally! It is here and I saw it three times! I cannot wait for the DVD! I was really curious to see how they would merge the two epics together. I was really impressed with how that was done, it really made alot of sense. I was so glad to see Jason looking like he did in most of the F13 films. "Jason X" and especially "Jason Goes to Hell" really missed on that one. It was really nice to see Freddy as he originally was as well. That new glove and the cape in "New Nightmare" were just not Freddy to me. I understand the reasons behind these changes in the most recent films, the need to do something different, but we watch Freddy and Jason movies because we like Freddy and Jason just as they are! Now back to this movie, it was so nice to see that each character was true to the series, Freddy and his comical phrases, and Jason being an unstoppable killing machine. I loved the fight scenes and the fact that Jason fights Freddy on Freddy's turf and Freddy fights Jason on Jason's turf, the more intermixing of the stories the better! As much as I loved this movie I have two problems with it. Number one, no Kane Hodder. He is the only man to play Jason more then once and he really loves that role, I think it should have been his, but I was aware of that before I saw the movie. Number two, is Freddy finding out Jason's fear of water. I understand why they did it. Jason drowned as a child and it makes perfect sense that he would be afraid of water. But he is not. In "Final Chapter", he waits in the water for Samantha as she goes for a swim, kills her and then waits for Paul after her. In "Jason Lives", Jason has no problem going after Tommy in the boat by walking in the water, he showed no fear. In "New Blood", he waits for Sandra as she goes for a swim. In "Jason Takes Manhattan" he climbs aboard the ship from the water. Clearly Jason is NOT afraid of water. Though if you think about the ending of that movie, when Jason is bombarded by sewage, an image of him as a child appears, just as it does in Freddy Vs Jason, so that makes more sense now. This detail is so insignificant though it doesn't ruin my opinion of the movie at all. What I also love about this movie is they explain enough of Jason's background and Freddy's background that if someone never seen any Jason or Freddy movies before, they could follow it, such as the case with a friend of mine. If I could give this movie more then 5 stars I would, because it is off the scale!

Summary: A pure genius film
Review: Who would have thought way back when, when the first Friday The 13th film & the first Nightmare On Elm street film came out that there would be a fight between Freddy & Jason?? NOT ME! Now that it has happened I am proud to say it is one of the top 30 horror films I have ever seen in my life, & beleive me I've seen PLENTY of horror films from Child's Play To Texas Chainsaw Massacre I've seen it all. This film is amoung the best out of all of these films. The ending has a conclusion that will stay with you for ever as a fan. I give this film all 5 stars because it deffinately deserves it. I hope to see some sequals to this, maybe jason taking on Leatherface, or Micheal Myers. How about Jason Vs. Pinhead? I think any of these would be a great idea. Or the killer from the burning? that would be an amazing fight to see as well.

Summary: My Opinion....This 'flick'ROCKS
Review: It is fascinating to see how the writers bridged the gap that brought these two horror tyrants together. The storyline is flawless and is 'true' to the prequels of both series. Nevermind Jason X. That was set in the future, so Freddy Vs Jason can be considered a prequel to Jason X.
The movie has all the elemnts from both series from Freddy's sadistical (if that's a word) and comical killings to Jason's 'kill-em-all' attitude. So some death scenes were sort of scary and gross and others were just hilarious.
I guess the writers did not want to pick sides for a winner, so they left the ending sort of open for us to pick our own winner... which is cool. We love both Freddy and Jason. I've seen so many horrors, I've been desensitized a bit. This is a DVD must-have when its released.

Summary: Should Not Have Happened
Review: I went into this movie expecting something awesome and long awaited. I came out of this movie wishing I had never wasted my money or the time on it. The only good thing about this movie is the final showdown. Other then that, the movie had no sense of direction. The characters confused me, because they were new and unheard of. They should have stuck with the ones we're familiar with. All in all, it is a movie that is a complete waste of time! And the filmmakers should think twice before doing a Freddy vs Leatherface of Jason vs Michael Myers. Unless they're just bored and need to make a buck.
