Rating: Summary: Freddy and Jason kill the CRITICS Review: This movie is by far the most entertaining movie of 2003. I mean if you are into comical horror this is your movie to own. Although many crtics down it, it remained number one in the box office for weeks on in. Freddy is back and is funny and hysterical as ever, and the fan favorite Jason entertain's with his wit's and silentness. The late John Ritters son (Jason Ritter), makes his film debut as well as the multi-platinum recording artist from the R&B group Destiny's Child (Kelly Rowland). It's a good film to experience, especially for people with a sense of humor.
Rating: Summary: Freddy VS Jason DVD Review: Horror fans of both the Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th series will be pleased with the DVD release of Freddy VS Jason. I already see that many people have already reviewed the movie in general, so I'll go straight to the 2 dvd set. The picture and sound on the actual movie is pristine. The commentary is fun and informative. There are several alternate and deleted scene, including an alternate intro and ending. Fans of Jason Ritter and Monica Keena will like the alternate ending, and I like both the original and alternate ending personally. The alternate beginning is more or less an extended version of the original beginning. The extended scene before arriving at the rave in the cornfield should have been kept in the movie also, but at least it's on disc 2 for everyone to see. There are several other extras here, but many are useless if you don't have a dvd-rom drive in your computer, and that's the only reason I gave this set four stars. Otherwise, a fun movie for the fans, and definitely not to be taken seriously by square critics who despise both series. If you're up for a good popcorn movie to invite your friends over and view, this is definitely one to add to your collection.
Rating: Summary: Very Nice Slasher Review: Let me just say that I am a MAJOR fan of both Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street movies. This 2 DVD set is well produced and put together. The movie is great with all of the nudity, gore, action and violence that you would come to expect.

Rating: Summary: Fun DVD! Review: Lots of great extras really make this disc a must own. I especially enjoyed the Bally's Casino weigh-in between the 2 movie maniacs! Freddy really trash talks while Jason uses his huge physical appearance in a funny way. The film itself is pretty amazing and teh last 30 minutes or so make sitting through the Dawson style beginning worth it.
Rating: Summary: Clash of the Slashers! Review: With a combined 17 movies between them, horror icons Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees finally duke it out on DVD. The results are great. After years in development hell, "Freddy vs. Jason" finally premiered in August 2003. The film boasts alot of gore, nudity and a surprisingly good story that made it a box-office hit. Freddy Krueger(Robert Englund) from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series recruites Jason from the "Friday the 13th" series to bring back terror to Elm Street in order to have Freddy instill fear into the community. After several bloody slayings to teenagers from Jason, Freddy realizes that the Crystal Lake madman won't stop into he's ready to. The result is a kick-ass battle. I was going for Jason. Even though he's dull, doesn't talk and has no personality unlike Freddy, he's great. You kind of feel sorry for him as a child. A disfigured retarded kid being picked and then drowned to death. But hey, he did kill more then 200 people. I guess payback was due. The DVD extras are fun. There's commentary by stars Englund and Ken Kirzinger(Jason). The only problem with this movie is that I miss Kane Hodder from the previous 4 movies as Jason. Kirzinger is good, he's tall and sleaker. But I guess the role was really born to Hodder. He was really Jason! His movements, stance and sheer size was perfect! How can director Ronny Yu miss his credentials? He played Jason 4 times! Anyway treasure the DVD! Expect a sequel, too!

Rating: Summary: 2 Stars for Backstory only... Review: 80's slasher movie fans have been waiting for over a decade for this match up and this slasher fan was disappointed. It should only be 1 star but gets 2 stars because they do give a little backstory on each killer which is kind of interesting but even director Ronny Yu says in the extras "I didn't understand this very well so I had to learn". Um, HELLO!?!?! If you didn't understand it, how did you expect to do it justice?? I was unaware that such cheesy arterial sprays even existed in the 21st century. Have we really come to a place where the audience accepts and from most reviews here, embraces what looks like someone with a turkey baster is squirting red colored water out of the wounds?? The most unconvincing gore I've ever seen, even when the standards were lower and we expected it to be bad (ie-late 70's, 80's-- heck Evil Dead was more convincing) It could've been done so much better and by someone who actually grew up with a love for the movies, not someone who had to study it for homework to get a paycheck. A renter...or better yet talk a friend into renting it so you don't have to mourn the loss of $4-5 to rent it.
Rating: Summary: THE GREATEST FILM OF ALL TIME! Review: I just got this film on DVD today and it is the best film ever! I saw it twice in the theater and I wasn't disappointed a bit both times. I was stoked when I was handed my copy and when I watched it, I had a smile on my face the whole time. The DVD had awesome features, although I won't watch the production stuff again because it kinda ruined the magic for me. I guess I was happier not knowing all that stuff. Keep doing what you do New Line. I hope to work with you one day. PEACE OUT!
Rating: Summary: A Great Action Film. Review: The long awaited "Freddy vs.Jason" was well worth the wait considering the makeup and the good script. The movie isn't the best in either series however it IS better than the last two installments "Wes Cravens New Nightmare" and "Jason X".The film had some pretty good writers and a great script making the movie a must see for Freddy/Jason fans. The film starts out with an intro depicting how Freddy died and was sent to hell after the kids on Elm street forgot about him making him lose his power. But when Freddy finds a way to get his power back by sending the immortal hockey faced slasher Jason Voorhees to remind people about him.Stuck in the web of terror are a couple of teenagers who are trying to bring the deadly duo together for the "Ultimate Showdown of Terror".The film does have a semi predictable ending and I think does need a sequel although the film fell off the top 10 charts after four weeks. The makeup effects are great and the special features are top notch including an aternate ending, and 18 deleted scenes, this is a must have DVD for horror fans.
