Rating: Summary: Average although good Review: Message to Hollywood: NEVER PUT AN ACTION DIRECTOR IN TO DIRECT AN HORROR FILM!!!!!!! it just doesn't work. Most of the time action directors just ruin horror movies! The acting was decent. And I really enjoyed the story but it was portrayed as an action movie more than a Horror film, which was the disapointment!

Rating: Summary: This Is Surprisngly Good Stuff Review: I watched this movie for one reason. I grew up on during the 80's watching both series upon which this movie is based. I got this purely for the nostalgia, expecting zero; absolutely nothing. I was surprised. This is a good movie, and a great movie for fans of the genre. The premise which brings Freddy and Jason together is well thought out, even inspired. It has Freddy stuck in limbo, his power to enter dreams is gone because no one remembers him anymore. The town initiated a secret program to wipe all traces of Freddy's existence out. As for the handful of youths who still remember Freddy, they've been locked up and given dream suppresants. All very fascist on the part of the people perpetrating this, but they are doing it only to protect their children. Freddy comes up with a solution: he enters the dreams of Camp Crystal lake serial killer Jason Voorhees, taking on the form of Jason's mother, and encites him to go to Elm Street and start a reign of terror. Naturally, a problem arises. When Jason's killings have awakened talk of Freddy Kruger, and thus restored his power, Jason continues killing the teenagers that Freddy is so eager to murder himself. The movie is visually very appealing. There are a ton of visuals that made me smile and nod and say, 'wow'. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, and there is some very funny dialogue. The final battle itself is really fun to watch. It's clear that this movie was a labour of love on the part of all who made it.
Rating: Summary: amazing Review: this was an amazing movie. robert englund did an awesome job! don't listen to people who think this movie was horrible, they don't know what they're talking about. i think why i loved this movie is because of the comedy mixed in with the horror. i recommend this movie for people of all ages!
Rating: Summary: 4 Stars for the 5.1 EX sound Review: I purchased this DVD used based on the 5.1 EX sound. The movie is what it is - a Horror movie with a touch of humor. The 6.1 sound is excellent. The rear surround speakers are effectively utilized and not just a repetition of the 5.1 surround speakers. The subwoofer rocks the house. So, if you are a fan of this genre film and are looking for a great 6.1 sound pick this movie up. Enjoy, j.
Rating: Summary: The showdown has finally arrived! Review: I have been a long time fan of both Friday the 13th, and A Nightmare On Elm Street Series. I always liked Jason alot, and found all the unique killing methods that he utilized to be very entertaining. The Jason in this movie is not the same as the Jason of old, of course it is also someone new playing him. He even has a different look to him, and i personally don't like the jacket he wears. However there is only so much Jason can do, being he does not talk, and is not meant to be considered as intelligent. Freddy on the other hand is known to be very witty, very well spoken, artistic, and very intuitive in his killing methods. I believe it is Freddy that makes this movie entertaining, and fun. Without Jason though, who could he beat up on? I found the special effects to be very gratifying, and very entertaining. This movie is not meant to be taken seriously. They both get what they both deserve, and at the hands of each other. The beating they both go through is what makes the movie great. I think the plot, or there lack of, is just to build up the suspense until we get to the big fight. The battle is what this movie is all about, and even though the plot could have been better, it was the showdown i was interested in seeing. I believe it was done very well, and i hope there is a rematch. Freddy makes the movie what it is, with all his cocky one liners, and vintage Freddy mannerisms. Although a Jason vs. Michael myers match up would be awesome, imagine how boring that would be with no one talking, and being they are almost the same type of killer. Jason and Freddy are opposites, and you will find yourself rooting for both characters throughout the movie. I for one enjoyed, and will never grow tire of it. It is a classic. There have been much better Friday The 13th movies, especially part 6, and 7, but this movie is something different, as it combines both series. The special effects alone are worth every penny of the movie. I was not let down, and at first did not expect even as much as i got from the movie. It left me feeling very satisfied, and wanting more. Finally a match up i have been waiting for over 20 years has taken place. Any Jason or Freddy fan must have this movie! (Sirbrad)
Rating: Summary: Now THAT'S comedy! Review: Freddy vs. Jason (Ronny Yu, 2003) After ten years of talking, more talking, delays, and more delays, America's favorite serial killers, Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund [V, Dead and Buried] from the Nightmare on Elm Street series, and Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger, professional stuntman; guess Kane Hodder got sick of the job) from the Friday the 13th series, mix it up. The movie manages to hearken back to the days when every movie monster was pitted against every other, while retaining not a shred of the too-seriousness with which those movies took themselves. The first thing to remember about Freddy vs. Jason is that this is in no way a horror film. Veteran action director Ronny Yu (probably best-known in America for The Bride with White Hair) tried that once, with disastrous results (Bride of Chucky). So he went back to doing what he does best: action flicks. This should be obvious in any of the big fight scenes; take away the makeup and put them in a big field of bamboo and you have Crouching Tiger, Over Hyped. Yes, folks, this is wire-fu, and probably some of the most amusing wire-fu you've ever seen. Even though the big fight scenes between the two are the main focus, it's a Friday the 13th/Nightmare on Elm St. movie, so you have to have a complement of moronic teens as Jason/Freddy fodder. This time, instead of trying to break new talent (and really, how many of the Nightmare/Friday kids have gone on to stardom? Let me count them for you: two, Johnny Depp and Patricia Arquette), the crew racked up the body count with somewhat established stars. The Parade of Pretty Underaged Bodies is led by Lori Campbell (Dawson's Creek temptress Monica Keena) and her boyfriend Will (Joan of Arcadia's wheelchair-bound Jason Ritter, looking considerably less disabled here). The story goes something like this: Lori is part of a new generation of Elm St. kids, who are no longer afraid of Freddy Krueger. Since their fear drives him, he needs some way to get them scared of him again. So he raises Jason from his Crystal Lake grave and sends him to Elm St. in order to make the kids think Freddy's back (cue Alice Cooper music. Whoops, that was the OTHER series). Now (please ignore the giant plot hole) the last round of Freddy-inspired terror had happened four years previously, during which time Will thought he saw Lori's father murder her mother inside their house. The resulting trauma caused Will, and a number of the other near-victims (including Will's best friend Mark [Brendan Fletcher, who wisely disassociated himself with the Air Bud movies after the first one]), to be committed to a mental hospital outside town. (Lori knows nothing of this and thinks Will just moved away.) But after Jason commits his first murder inside Lori's house and Will catches a piece of a news story, he and Mark decide to escape and go make sure everyone's okay. Which, of course, they're not. Perhaps the most inventive part of the storyline is the fact that you think you're being dropped into a Nightmare on Elm Street sequel, but (as far as I can tell from reading IMDB cast lists) this is a new storyline, created for this movie. Very subtle, and quite well done. But that said, everyone who's going to want to see this movie is going to see it for one reason: Freddy and Jason mixing it up. Like I said, the fight scenes are wire-fu, so be prepared for Freddy and Jason bounding around in three dimensions like giant pinballs. (As Freddy says at one point during the first big dust-up, "oooooh... tilt. <SLAM!>) But then, expecting realism in a fight between two undead serial killers is kind of like expecting realism from a Monkees movie, so it doesn't really detract. Instead, you get the unstoppable object meeting the immovable post, and it's a lot of fun. And certainly a lot better than I thought it would be. ***
Rating: Summary: YOU STUPID IDIOTIC REVIEWERS! Review: UGH! You good for nothing piece of crap reviewers! This movie isn't suppose to be a horror movie! Have you seen any of the recent horror movies? Not very many of them are scary now days! and come on, its like the 11th instalment in the Jason series, do you think its going to be scary? After about 6 sequals they start to get kinda cheesy! Anyways, this movie actully is pretty cool, but don't expect to much if you are a hardcore gorehound! this is one of those "horror" movies that i can watch before i go to sleep! ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE SCARY!
Rating: Summary: A good movie, but not really what I am waiting for Review: I really liked this movie, and got only a little scared of it. It was more humorous, sick, and stupid than scary. What I'm really waiting for is a battle between Michael Myers from Halloween vs. Leatherface from TX. Chainsaw Massacre.
Rating: Summary: Freddy Vs. Jason is a Horror Fans Gold Review: If your a horrow movie Fan, no Doubt, you will LOVE this movie. Even if your not, you should still enjoy it. The movie is somewhat of what you'd expect from a slasher film, but with more twists, and a much more modern updated version, with some killer special effects. This is a movie not to miss.
