Review: Sure, Jason Voorhees is cool, tough, and scary...but it's hard not to root for ol' Freddy Krueger when the two psychopaths meet face-to-ruined-face in the classic "Freddy vs. Jason."Jason is an unstoppable juggernaut of evil, like a dark force of nature--but he never speaks. He displays no personality, unless it's a hint of black humor expressed by his methods of dispatching a victim. Freddy, on the other hand, displays (perverse) charm, wit and panache! His constant wisecracks skewer prey as effectively as his claws, and his habit of theatrically scraping his bladed glove across metal surfaces will send shivers down anyone's spine. Plus, Freddy has magical powers...making him the ultimate Dream Warrior. True, Jason has a superhuman ability to heal, but Freddy could magically possess Jason's body, and add the Man Behind the Mask's brute strength to his own! How cool is that?!? Jason may look quite intimidating in his ragged coveralls and battered hockey mask, but Freddy's colorful sweater and jaunty hat evoke nightmarish images of a demented hobo (this is not meant to be an insult to hobos--I'm sure most of them are friendly, gentle folks). Weaponry: Come on--a glove on one hand? Only a child-molesting nutjob FREAK would dare to promote THAT fashion statement. MUCH more terrifying than a rusty old machete, I'd say. Now, Jason has appeared in ten previous movies (although he was barely in the first "Friday the 13th"), while Freddy has only been in, like, seven. At first glance, that may seem like Jason is more popular and successful--but I'd say that makes him pretty repetitive. He's used the "bash the counselor in the zipped-up sleeping bag" trick twice, for example. But either whether you like the Crystal Lake Killer or the Elm Street Stalker, you'll enjoy watching this DVD at home just as much as seeing it in the theater--so you can catch moments from the melee you may have missed the first time. Plus, it never hurts to see the gravity-defying Monica Keena.

Summary: Freddy vs. Jason - Not good enough
Review: Freddy vs. Jason felt like an action movie trying to be a horror movie when it should have been a horror movie with elements of action. It's filled with the same old, boring and tired clichés. The story is unoriginal and "talks down" to its audience. The computer generated effects are cheap and unrealistic. The cinematography is second-rate. (And, Kade Hodder should have been cast as Jason.) The only good things was Freddy's new face make-up (even though it looked rubbery at times.) Truly a disappointing effort for horror fans.

Summary: Movie Monsters Better Kept Apart...
Review: Freddy has an undying craving for more murdering of young children, and therefore seeks help by manipulating Jason Voorhees to murder some children on Elm Street. As the gruesome murders begin, someone whispers Freddy's name and once again the town of Springwood is cursed. Freddy Vs. Jason is an attempt in making a horror film that turns into a gory Wrestle-Mania with movie monsters. As the end credits cross the screen, the audience has endured a rather poor cinematic experience.

Review: This movie is SOOO bad! The special effects are terrible, the costumes are terrible, the script is horrible, the acting is awful, the story...what story? So why am I giving this 5 stars? Because everything bad about it was intentional. It's supposed to be corny. That's what people love about these movies. And the battle between Freddy and Jason is pretty cool. I also love the brief appearance by George W. Bush in this movie. An awful president in an awful movie. Love it!

Review: After over 10 years of development Freddy Vs Jason has finally come to pass. I have to say I was very surprised that I liked Freddy Vs. Jason. I thought the 2 main actors (Jason Ritter & Monica Kenna) portrayed more believable characters than I can remember in either of the series recent history. I especially liked John Ritters (Jack Triper from Threes Company) son Jason Ritter who did a great job acting. Monica Kenna also did a great job with the emotion she put across the screen, but sometimes she does over do it. I also liked the way the movie took place in both Freddys and Jasons home towns. From Elm St. to Camp Crystal Lake this movie has some major blood shed, and to see both of these infamous killers on the screen together is a little strange and silly at first but it really does work. Having been long forgotten by the new children of Elm Street, Freddy Krueger's power over his potential victims' dreams has been dead. After being dead for far too long, he enlists the aid of Camp Crystal Lake psychopath Jason Voorhees to rise from the dead by sending the apparition of his mother to awaken Jason, and send him to Springwood to put back fear into the Elm Street children. Freddy then hopes to regain his powers and, to kill teenagers in their dreams. Now things seem to being going as planed until Jason carries out his job better than than expected, Freddy quickly grows angry with Jason getting all the attention, and tries to stop Jason himself. In the middle of Freddy and Jason's battle are several teenagers. I will not say who won as the ending is well worth the long bloody battle between the two. I do think you have to be a die hard Nightmare On Elm St and/or Friday The 13th fan to really appreciate this movie. This movie opened with over 36 Million dollars on its first weekend, which is amazing considering the last sequels in both series (Wes Cravels New Nightmare and Jason X) opened both at a little over 6 million. The highlights of this film are Freddy and Jason being brought back to their roots. Freddy was a truly frightening figure back when he first came out, but before too long he was being turned into a wise cracking comedian in later Elm St. films. What I really like about this film is the way Freddy Krueger has been brought back to his horror icon self rather than a comedian. Freddy still makes some wise cracks but focuses more on his horror skills. Jason Voorhees, is still the same stalker with a hockey mask and his machete, but has his painful past more expored than before and showing how he became such a horrible killer. Image & Sound: I have to say the picture quality is truly amazing. Presented in 2.35:1 along with the Full Screen Version, the print is near perfect. Grain is practically non-existent, the Color levels are all rich and vibrant, and the black levels are solid with no murkiness. The fine detail is sharp which all combined give Freddy Vs. Jason a excellent overall print. Like the video, the audio truly stands out as well. The Dolby Digital 5.1 EX audio track makes excellent use of the surround channels for maximum fright as the sounds creep from the speaker to speaker scare the hell out of you at times. The voices and dialogue are clear and easily heard at all times. The soundtrack is crystal clear. Extras: New Line sure is very giving when it comes to the DVD extras. Disc two is where most of the extras are found. First up are 20 Deleted and Alternate scenes with commentary (including original opening & closing) all of them looking like the final product, with choices of anamorphic widescreen and full screen video and Dolby Digital audio. You can play it with the commentary from Yu and executive producer Doug Curtis. Behind the Scenes Coverage including screenwriting, set design, make up, stunts and photography, Visual Effects Exploration, Storyboards and Galleries, Script-to-Screen & Trivia viewing modes, Cutting Room Floor - make your own fight scene, Killer sound bites, Fangoria magazine articles, and jump to a nightmare. Commentaries: The commentary track, features director Ronny Yu, Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger. Actorss Robert Englund (Freddy) and Ken Kirzingereem (Jason) reflect their on-screen personas. Robert Englund is very talkative, but Ken Kirzinger does not relly have much to say. Director Ronny Yu discusses scenes, but Englund makes this commentary entertaining. I would highly recommend watching or purchasing this Freddy Vs. Jason DVD. I feel to really appreciate this movie you need to be a Nightmare on Elm St. and/or Friday The 13th Fan. If your not a fan you can still appreciate what this DVD has to offer. From the amazing picture, and outstanding audio to all the Bonus Feautures on Disc 2 (which are loaded with enough extras to keep you busy for a few hours) check this DVD out to see what all DVDs should be like. Final Words: What can I say that I have not said all ready? I do have to thank New Line Home Entertainment for creating such a wonderful DVD with a near perfect print from the company that's known for excellent transfers, and who are known for giving fans what they want... all the extra stuff. Great Job New line!

Summary: A Major Letdown
Review: I have never liked "A Nightmare On Elm Street" movies beyond the first film. I have enjoyed "Friday The 13th" films however. Freddy as a character does nothing for me. However I like Jason and even own Jason action figures. This was Freddy's movie. Freddy was given better scenes, if that is saying much. Also, Freddy's makeup was much better than the makeup job on Jason.
What is up with the annoying woman who played Jason's mother? She didn't even look like Betsy Palmer. I had to laugh at the kids with their glowsticks at the rave, and the cheesy dancing to the cheesy music. Also, The blood looks like red syrup. Why is it in all these movies they perceive psychiatric wards as places were people wander around in strait jackets and drooling?When they showed Jason as a child, what was up with the bad sound dubbing? What kind of kid makes those annoying whimpering noises?. I hear next they are considering adding Ash (Evil Dead) into the fight. UGH.

Summary: Great concepet but poorly acted....
Review: The film has a great concept to it but the acting is a little forced. The story line is strong, the plot is thin and the special effects are corny in some areas. It seems that the CGI department was a bunch of amatuers. Freddy vs. Jason has everything you like about slasher films and a lot that you don't.
Now if only we could see Leatherface Vs. Michael.

Summary: A fun enjoyable movie
Review: I thought this movie was a great addition to both series in my opinion. If you want to watch this movie for a strong plot and story then you need to avoid this. It has a good story to it and just like the other movies it has it's cheesy moments. A lot of blood is shed. There is some great kills in this movie. Kelly Rowland wasn't as annoying as I thought she would be. I actually laughed at her a few times. Jason Ritter did a good job and was probably the only non-annoying character in the movie. The movie does have a lot of laughs as well. The dvd has some great extras too. The alternate ending was stale and liked the one we saw in theatres. So I think anyone who wants to watch a fast paced movie with lots of blood and laughs then get this.

Review: what more could those of us who grew up in the late 70s or early 80s ask for? after talking about it on the playground for years, this movie is finally a reality. Five stars easy. cant wait for the sequel!
