Summary: BOOO! Where's Coffy??
Review: Okay. Let's look at this from two angles. As a MOVIE and as a DVD. Well, the general feeling is correct. This was a terrible TERRIBLE movie. The budget was good -- and "Trevor" is hot enough to droooool over, but that's about all the movie is good for. Not only does it rip off the ideas responsible for SCREAM, but the camera work is lazy and the attack scenes are cheesy. I mean, SLOW MOTION tacky. What can you expect from a first time director. For those expecting a follow-up to the first part, don't hold your breath. Hollywood hasn't quite learned that sequels don't do well when you write a movie about something DIFFERENT and slap the same name on it.That said, as a DVD I was disappointed. Though there are a LOT of deleted scenes and a boring blooper reel, the menu looks like it was whipped up by a child and.... I was THOROUGHLY ANGERED by the fact that a scene was missing altogether. After seeing UL2 in the theatres, I was ecstatic at a scene in which Reese (the security guard portrayed by Loretta Divine) is acting out a scene from COFFY as it plays on her monitors. I went out and bought all of PAM GRIER'S movies afterwards. And yet... WHERE IS THIS SCENE ON THE DVD??? It's gone. Wiped from existence. All they left was her dancing to the FOXY BROWN theme. If you're a faithful slasher/horror buff like me, you'll buy it. But it doesn't mean you have to like it. P.S. The point of the horror genre is NOT to notice references to other movies. That was SCREAM'S point. Not what should be the point of every movie that followed.

Summary: People actually LIKED this????
Review: Oh good lord, where to begin? The first one was really good. A bit of a twist on the run-of-the-mill slasher plot from Scream, Halloween, etc. In fact, I would put the first one on par with the first Scream movie (3rd was the best IMO) and better than most other movies of this genre. This one however...was pathetic. Nothing more than a badly acted rush-job of a sequel made to cash in on how good the first one was. The plot had a few interesting points, but the characters didn't really DO or say anything to make me...ya know...CARE about them. And the killer was not scary at all...in fact I thought the murderer, complete with his totally frightening FENCING HELMET, was laughable and had the IQ of a turnip. Don't bother. Rent a good slasher movie. I recommend the first and most recent Halloween movies and the 3rd Scream movie. And the original Urban Legends, if only to make you forget the crud that this movie was.

Summary: Easily On Par with the Original (but has a Better Ending).
Review: After the Barrage of Awful reviews that followed this Sequel like a bad smell, I skipped seeing it at the Cinema and waited for video. I took a big chance and bought this DVD without even seeing the film.. And the Gamble paid off well. The film is Great and the DVD is Wonderful. Deleted Scenes, Gag Reel, Director's Commentary, Making Of; we get a lot of good extras. Like the original, "Urban Legends, Final Cut" gives us all the Teen Slasher Ingredients, and in Perfect Doses. Some of the Acting may be below average, but the star, Jennifer Morrison gives a Sympathetic, Likeable performance. Anthony Anderson gets the Silver Medal playing (you guessed it) the Comic Relief. The Death Scenes, one in particular, are Inspired. Gore Hounds Rejoice. Being that it's a "Film within a Film" scenario, there is a lot of potential for False Scares and clever kills, and the director never misses a chance to use them. The Ending is the one thing that stands Head and Shoulders over the original. This one is actually believable and the Unmasking of the killer is Cleverly Built up and Worked Out. But Is it Better than the original? On a Whole, I would say it's a Dead Tie. I couldn't pick if my life depended on it. They're both Flawed Fun for all Horror fans. See them both and make up your own mind.

Summary: Good movie, but DON'T watch it alone.
Review: This movie scared me when I first saw it! It was just like I Know What You Did Last Summer except even scarier. Just don't watch this movie alone because it will give you the creeps. But this movie is the best horror movie I ever saw since the Scream movies and I Know What You Did Last Summer. There's not much to say about this movie all I know is that it's a good movie but the only thing that's not good about this movie is that it doesn't have very good acting. That's all I have to say. If you want to know more about this movie go rent it and you will like it. But watch out it might scare you!!!

Summary: Even fans of the first one will be disappointed.......
Review: This film was targeted for fans who liked the Scream trilogy and those who actaully liked the first Urban Legend (I admit I did enjoy the first one), but this one missed the mark. It could have been better. All you have to do is watch the deleted scenes on the DVD and you can see that it could have been better. Director John Ottman freely admits that he cut out the scenes that built characterization in order to get to the violence quicker. It's too bad that a story that had some potential fell victim to a mis-guided, first-time director and poor editing in order to just show the blood and guts. The plot that remains just basically puts the heroine (played nicely by Jennifer Morrison) and a freind in a situation being stalked by a masked killer. Of course, the friend is killed and the heroine lives to face the same situation but in a different location. It gets slightly repetitious. The characters, especially all the male characters seem the same and of course are left vague in order for you to suspect them as the killer. But once the killer is revealed, you don't really care because the motive for the killings is totally pointless. The special effects were pretty routine. The film within a film routine is getting a little overdone in this genre. My advice is to rent it if there is nothing else that grabs your attention .

Summary: Bad Sequel.
Review: The first Urban legends is pretty good. Not as good as Scream series but I like it better than "I know what you did last summer" series. But this one is a miss. Set in a film department of a University where film students got murdered. The actual killer is not surprising, most of you who watch this type of movie should be able to guess who it was. The DVD is OK. Bright and clear picture and solid sound. Not recommended though.

Summary: This movie makes the horror genre look bad
Review: The only reason I saw "Urban Legends: Final Cut" was because it was free. I would like to now express to the makers of this "film" that I require compensation. If you would be so kind, please write me a check for 100 minutes. The acting is horrid, the script is bland and midway through takes a turn for the absurd, and the look of the killer is just plain laughable. Why is the villain wearing a fencing mask of all things? Did the costume designers just give up one day? The story involves students being killed off while working on a thesis film concerning urban legends. Note: It has almost absolutely nothing to do with the previous film. Thus, it is not so much a sequel as a film trying to cash in on an already established (and sub par) horror title. The scares are banal stalker fare (i.e. someone pops out of the shadows) that are pathetically predictable and never haunt the viewer after leaving the film. "Urban Legends" also blatantly rips things off from numerous other films. Apart from being another "Scream"-esque potboiler, one gory death scene (which is the only gory scene) seems to borrow from Italian horror masters like Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento. Another killing borrows from the voyeur-murderer film "Peeping Tom." And, during one chase, one gets the more than distinct first person camera shakiness of "The Blair Witch Project." The characters are all one dimensional, even the villain. I didn't care that anyone died nor did I rally behind the very ridiculous looking slasher. To think that several million dollars went into this production that could have been used to fund the betterment of public schools, feed the homeless, or do research that would aid in curing terminal illnesses.

Summary: big deal another teen slasher flick.
Review: has anyone else noticed that all these movies are the exact same thing, a couple of hot chicks get sliced and diced, and one chick survives and some guy also. these type of movies arent even scary anymore, they are so predictable. Onto this movie itself, its about the killer in a mask(as usuall)who wants to slice up some teenagers because he wants some credit for this movie. When it comes down to it if youve seen scream or i know what you did last summer then youve see this one because its the same thing.

Summary: Surprisingly better than the first film.
Review: The Plot:At the alpine university, there a contest, anyone could win the best film award at any cost... even if it means eliminating the competition. No one is safe and everyone is suspect. This sequel is more believable and less silly than the first film, it has an more believable ending than the first film and even has surprise ending(The last min of the of the film) is a gem. Good performance by Jennifer Morrison(Stir of Echoes), Matthew Davis(Tigerland) and Lorette Devine in a good comic performance, she reprise her role from the first film. DVD`s has fine anamorphic(2.35:1) transer and Pan & Scan is also avilable in this Sngle Layer Disc. Also an fine Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. An running commentary track by the composer and the director-John Ottman(He`s composed the music for The Usual Suspects and Apt Pupil). Deleted Scenes with opitinal commentary by the director. Also a making of feaurette and gag reel, which some of it is pretty funny. It`s rare a sequel, is better than the first, this one is better than the first. Super 35. Grade:B+.

Summary: What a GREAT DVD!
Review: This DVD rules! It has great deleted scenes, commentary by director, a making of featurette and other great special features. About the movie, I thought the movie was cool. I love sequels. I liked SCREAM 2 and 3, BOOK OF SHADOWS: BW2, I STILL KNOW, and URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT. I hope this one is not the "final cut". I hope, for 2003 or a little later, that they come with an "URBAN LEGEND 3". Until there, buy URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT!
