Summary: horrible.
Review: i rented this movie a few years ago, figuring that it would probably not be that great. i had some hope, though. i mean, it does sport the "texas chainsaw massacre" name - it couldn't be all bad. alas, i was wrong. this is quite possibly one of the worst movies i've ever seen.

if anything, get this movie to laugh at how nonsensical and lame it is, because otherwise it's not going to be in any way enjoyable.

it says i give this movie one star, but if i could, i would probably give it less.

Summary: Bad, but still worth watching
Review: Originally filmed in 1994, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation was written and directed by Kim Henkel, who co-wrote the original film with Tobe Hooper. Originally set as a re-make of the original, the film was re-edited and re-distributed as a sequel, although there are still many a similarity between this film and the original. The plot is nothing new; four kids get lost in the backwoods and eventually get caught and hacked up by a maniacal family, but there is an overly campy humor that is present that makes this otherwise dreadful film worth watching. This film also features pre-fame Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey; both of which give great early performances, especially McConaughey who is laugh out loud hilarious and gives a maniacal performance that almost serves a precursor to his memorable characterizations in Frailty and Reign of Fire. Although I wasn't too fond of the ideas with Leatherface, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation is so bad it's almost good, and if your a fan of the series but missed this installment then it is still worth checking out.

Summary: What?
Review: I can't believe people actually enjoyed this movie. This movie is so bad I'm not even going to give my usual in depth analysis. It doesn't even deserve it...

Summary: Bad Bad Bad Bad.
Review: Please take off the 'Texas Chainsaw massacre' part off the name of this garbage. It puts shame to the first one and everyone involved in it. A note to Mr. Matthew McConaughey, slap yourself. Hard. This movie is just a pile of confusing, nonsensical nonsense. Tobe Hooper, pat yourself on the back for passing on this one. However, now that I've said all that, it's not too bad. It is very confusing.

Summary: Vapid nonsense
Review: Straight to video sequel purely made to squeeze the last dollars available out of the franchise. Director Tobe Hooper does not return for the final movie probably realising the film's future had run it's course.

From the reading of the title, you can't expect much from The Next Generation. We already know it's going to be a basic rehash of the first and that there will be no plot continuity whatsoever. The only thing this film offers is the dishy Matthew McConaughey as one of the crazed generation. and also the beautiful Renee Zellwegger as the hapless victim.

This is one of those films you will see at 3 o clock in the morning which is probably a good thing considering how weak and pathetic the film is. Avoid at all costs only unless you have a serious craving for Matthew McConaughey!!!

Summary: Partly Remake of the Original Film.
Review: On the Night of Prom Night, a young nedy teen (Renee Zellweger) and her friends (Lisa Marie Newmyer, John Harrison & Tyler Cone) are unexpectely get ina Car Crash and then, they are being stalked by a Tow-Truck Driver (Matthew McConaughey), his accomplice Darla (Tonie Perensky), W.E. (Joe Stevens) & the infamous Leatherface (Robert Jacks), try to get them One by One until one of the friends ended up fighting with these crazed murderers.

Written & Directed by Kim Henkel made a part remake of the Original film. Which Henkel did co-wrote the film with Tobe Hooper on the Original film. The most amazing thing about this film is seeing Zellweger and McCounaughey before they are well known actors in Hollywood. Which this film was unrelease for three years. The Canadian DVD has an good Pan & Scan (1.33:1) transfer and an strong Dolby Stereo 2.0 Surround Sound. The problem with the film is this, it`s somehow of a letdown, no wonder the Studio didn`t want to release it. But it`s really worth seeing for the two well-known actors. Wayne Bell did the music score for this film, as he did with the original Texas. Watch for Paul A. Partain and John Dagan from the Original film and also watch for Unbilled Cameo of Marylin Burns at the end of the film. Filmed in 1994. Grade:B+.

Summary: A pale shadow of its predecessors
Review: Very boring and lame. None of the humor, wacky characters, great acting and special effects of Saw 2.

Summary: This is the coolest thing I have ever seen.
Review: This movie had me absolutely spellbound -- phenomenal cinematography, captivating dialogue, and a plot with such intrigue and suspense, it will keep you guessing right to the very end . . . oh, wait. Sorry, wrong movie.

Summary: Just as twisted as the original TCM
Review: Unlike the past 2 sequels, this one stays true to the original and also pays homage to a couple of memorable scenes (like the infamous hanging on a meathook). However, unlike the original, this one is more of a dark comedy than straight up horror. I'm not big on dark comedies, but this movie kept me watching. It was funny and diabolical. If you know TCM 1 by verbatim, you'll notice this movie even parodies it in quite a few scenes. Crazy stuff but I like it!
