Rating: Summary: From personal experience Review: Perhaps I have a slightly different perspective. You see, at arelatively young age, I've spent the past several months having myteeth removed in preparation for dentures. Being hysterical throughout the entire procedure, my brother (as demented and dark as myself, probably a genetic thing) was so kind as to buy me the tape of, "The Dentist." Of course, it was black, freaky and extremely funny, and I haven't been laughing a lot lately. As a side note, I asked my dentist if he had seen the movie. To which he replied: "Yes, it was absolutely hideous! Funny thing though, almost all my patients loved it!" Well, that's a no-brainer!
Rating: Summary: Not scary at all. Review: Since Dentists are already scary enough I thought "Ohh this will be scary" but sadly I fell asleep 4 times while trying to watch it. This is one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen. It's terrible. I also had to sit through it's sequel as well. You should avoid anything that is low budget or not heard of becaude 9/10 times it's bad.
Rating: Summary: Don't Watch If You Have Dental Phobia Review: So many people are afraid of going to the dentist and they come out with a movie about a psychotic dentist that tortures his patients, right. After seeing this movie you'll be paranoid about going to the dentist!
Rating: Summary: Gorey and poorly acted low budget wanna be suspense film. Review: The plot is idiotic, the acting is poor and it looks every bit a low buget film.
Rating: Summary: THE DENTIST Review: This film was actually pretty good. The story concerns a professional dentist who catches his wife having sex with there pool cleaning man...and after that, the dentist begins to slowly lose his mind, he hallucinates, and then he starts killing! Everyone is in jeopardy: his wife, her lover, and his patients. Great suspense and a great cast make this one an instant classic!
Rating: Summary: Extremely Funny Dark Comedy Review: This is a very funny movie if you've got a sarcastic or warped sense humor like I do. Corbin Bernsen fits the role perfectly as a dentist who goes nuts killing everyone and doing his best to cover up his tracks. A great movie, and it's on DVD!!!
Rating: Summary: Didn't scare me.... Review: This movie is a complete waist of time. If you really enjoy movies with 90 minutes of blood, then this just MIGHT be your movie. If you're looking for any kind of quality though, then leave it... Included in my top 5 list of "the worst movies ever"!
Rating: Summary: A True Nightmare! Review: This movie was very frightening. After I watched some of the dental torture scenes my teeth started to ache, but after I gave it a try. The music was really creepy and Corbin Bernsen did a wonderful job in this film. It kinda has that dark comedy tone to it. The mutilation parts aren't very pretty. Once you see them you will never want to go to get a checkup again. The scary thing is that this could happen in real life, but somethings are just dragged a little out of hand. The movie I still get nightmares about once in awhile. I can't tell why though that I'm addicted to this movie. I think it is because of Corbin Bernsen's(Alan Feinstone-The Dentist) performance. I know the dental torture is not my thing. If this sort of thing doesn't bother you give it a try otherwise stay away if you are very sensitive!
Rating: Summary: An incredibly nasty fun movie! Review: This was the goriest, most nastiest movies I have seen. I was afraid to go to the dentist after seeing this movie. If you watch this, be sure to be sick!
Rating: Summary: decay on parade Review: Ths is a most tragic tale involving a dentist and his madness induced quest to fight both moral and tooth decay. Dr feinstone is stressed. The IRS is after him. His wife is cheating with the poolman and his patients and neighbours are moral deviants. So he snaps. And when these people find themselves in his dentist's chair, its time for revenge. This is a film not for the sqeamish. It takes a bit to get going as the Dr's decent into madness is a gradual process. But once he goes over the deep end, its one horrible tooth job after another. Jaws are cracked open, teeth are ripped out from their sockets and needles and scalpels are used with impunity. Director Brian Yuzna seems to relish these scenes as his camera lovingly zooms in to show the mutalations in all their glory. Sceams of pain are interspersed with the awfull sounds of breaking mouth parts.Oddly enough, you might even find yourself cheering the dentist on as his victims are real scumbags. But does anyone really deserve this kind opf retribution? Each viewer must decide for himself. After all, there is a sequel! You really will never look at your dentist quite the same again.
