Rating: Summary: Way Better Than Part 2 & 3, But Can't Beat The Classic! Review: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation is way better than Part 2 & 3. However it isn't better than the original nor the remake! This one I believe was written by the co-writer of the original! The writer has brought some scenes from the original to this version which I loved! I especially liked the fact that Renee Zellewegger & Matthew McConaughy were in it! This was one of McConaughy's best performances, and this was I believe Zellewegger's break out film! They were great in it! It was hilarious having the fact of Leatherface as a cross-dresser! I enjoyed this film from beginning to end!
Rating: Summary: too stupid for those who normally like stupid Review: There are movies that are so bad they're good, part 2 was like that. This movie is more like part 3 though, so bad that it surpasses good and finds its way back to bad again. It starts out like a paint by numbers horror film then tuns into a pathetic homage to the original that has no continuity with the series. I'd say they were trying to forget part's 2 and 3 ever happened, but they're acknowledged in the opening sequence, so forget that idea. We know Renee Zellweger is capable of better than this, but a bad director can't even get much out of the most talented actors. When she says things like "There's a guy out there with a chainsaw" or "Don't hurt her." She says it with about as much passion as one might say, "pass the remote." Then there's Matthew McConaughey's character which seems to be a return of the hitchhiker, I don't know for sure if that's their intention or how they can do that but whatever. He's just this annoying guy who'd you'd wish would just shut up. Of course, what would a TCM movie be without leatherface, who's now a gender bending transvestite. An idea that hit the cutting room floor of the original that's back in full force of this one. Too bad his chainsaw never incised into any human flesh, can you really call it a chainsaw massacre when blade and flesh don't meet? What's even worse yet is that they don't even appear to be cannibals anymore. All you see them eat is pizza, vegetarian pizza even, that's just so wrong. The ending is totally derivative of the original, but can someone tell me how someone can get run over by an airplane in the middle of nowhere? I hope the next generation is the last generation if this is what the future holds. TCM had the potential to be one of the greatest horror series' ever, but sequels as this have killed that idea.
Rating: Summary: enjoyable twisted comedy Review: there's a lot to love about this chainsaw. velmer is over the top and having a top notch actress like renee tortured in this thing makes it even more entertaining. tons of comedic bits abound. i for one loved the vegetarian pizza bit especially since the pizza idea first popped up in part 3 and then to have it be a veggie pizza is just too damned funny! tcmng is so "bad" it's beautiful!
Rating: Summary: Don't listen to all the crap! Review: This 1995 'remake' to the classic mid 70's flick TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is genuinely entertaining. The acting is fairly good and the movie is actually kind of funny at points (in a good way). The dark humor and ferocious horror/suspense is pretty thrilling. The movie is a re-make so it's basically the same thing as the first one except the teens (although they look 30) are coming home from prom when they get stuck out in the woods. Eventually they come toward the demented family and the 'fun' really starts. I really found it scary BECAUSE you don't know in the beginning whether that lady is one of them or she realy wants to help out... the last 20 minutes were fairly weak compared to the original but this was a pretty decent movie all in all. I thought it was creepy and had some funny moments. Not the strong point in the series, I think part 3 was better then this one, but it is worth a watch. GRADE: C+

Rating: Summary: So bad it made even my Dvd player getting the hic ups .. Review: This movie is so bad you gotta see it to believe. This movie it pure, total 100% crap! No humor, bad (over)acting, (or no acting at all) no story, no horror(!), no nothing. Even the quality of the sound and images are way below standard. Only bought & saw it cuzz it was only 3 Euro's, wich is way, way, way, waaayyyyyyyy too much money for such a shamefull dud. My tip? Throw it in the open fire place, it may stink a bit, but at least it warms ye up for a few wee minutes.. Ps. It's not possible to give no stars.. so henceforth the one :(
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: This movie was very action packed and fillied with alot of comedy I would recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: One of the WORST horror films EVER!!! Review: When I first heard of this movie, I was exicited. I was kinda disapointed when I learned that Tobe Hooper wasn't directing it, but I realized that it had the next best thing, which was Kim Henkel, co-writer of the orignal TCM. I was also interested in seeing two good actors (Matthew and Zellwegger) appear in a horror series which never really contained any big stars (besides Dennis Hopper).I thought that this had the making of a good sequel, but I was sadly,SADLY mistaken. This movie is terrible. Surprisely, the acting is horrible, and the plot is stupid. This not just an awful movie, but it's just so disappointing too. I expected too much, I guess. This movie is easily the worst of all the TCM sequels. And that is not a good thing because all the sequels are bad as well
