Rating: Summary: Freddy's Final Nightmare Is A Nightmare Indeed Review: I had high hopes when Freddy's Dead was released in '91. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Lisa Zane stars as a social worker who tries to help a mysterious boy with an apparent case of amnesia. Trying to figure out who he is, the two, along with three stowaways in the shelter van, wind up in Springwood. The hometown of Freddy. There, Freddy preys on the newcomers because all of the teens in town are dead!. Interesting revelations come out concerning Freddy and the shelter worker. The effects are really good. That's always a strong point in every Elm Street movie. The acting is routine, with the exception of the always fabulous Robert Englund as Freddy. Alice Cooper playing Freddy's father in a flashback was inspired casting. That's the one great thing you can say about this movie. The background and all the details of Freddy's life. That's a major plus. That can't be said for the rest of the bland, boring film. The end fight scene is okay tho. Not one of the best.
Rating: Summary: Definitely the worst of the series Review: Freddy's Dead, I'm afraid, is a total bore. Poorly written, poorly made, no interest at all. Skip this bad movie and go straight to the excellent Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Here's the lowdown on the Nightmare series: The first and last movies are great (the only two that were written and directed by Wes Craven. Go figure.), the 2nd and 6th were awful, and the middle three are pretty good. Nightmare 3, 4 and 5 are not great movies, but enjoyable as horror/comedies with great special effects. The original Nightmare on Elm Street and Wes Craven's New Nightmare are the ones that should not be missed.
Rating: Summary: Stupidity at it's worst Review: This film was so it should have been cast out of the series before it hit the theater along with Nightmare 2. However to give a complement it does tell the story of Freddy's daughter who witnessed the murder of her mother by her father's hands. But now has amnesia. It also returns to the original solution to the Freddy problem (bringing him out of the Dream and into reality). And this time it works.
Rating: Summary: The Funniest Freddy Film Ever! Review: This is my second favourite 'Nightmare' film. It has so many funny jokes, coming from Freddy. The special effects are really cool, too. It looks like visions.... If you like Freddy because, he's funny and not scary. Then you're going to like this one. This is the funniest Freddy yet.
Rating: Summary: Freddy's perspective Review: I saw this movie on theaters, when I was 11 years old, and tought specially the end was awesome, because of the 3D fact. Growing make we think about the movie in a different way, I saw this one again 3 years ago and tought it was awful at all. But I grown up more, and looking at this movie, is quite interesting. You could think Freddy is an retard, seeing scenes like the one he plays a video-game to kill one character, but we are going to the point... All the movie have an dream atmosphere that overcome the other ones, it's just like the dreams are, a confusing twist of sadness, happiness and madness. You could not like this confusion, but it's up to you. The way the deaths are shown, it's just by the freddy's eye, an old and distorced eye beyond the imagination. This movie was creative, and this creativity messed many minds, like mine. It's not comedy with horror, because the scenes are not fun, but the movie don't want you to have a great time, the director wanted to show us more about Freddy, his life, his hard time, and touching this point, I clap my hands, looking into the Freddy's past was an very sadness and sometimes terrific trip. his angry grew up with the help of his parents, in particular his father, played by Alice Cooper, and played very well tought. And the Freddy's perspective it's this movie all about, an mixture of fairy tale with nightmares. The acting was ok, not deserving any award, like all the predecessors, don't forget that, and the music score was very good and traditionally well put into the entire movie. Watching this movie, you have serious chances of getting lost in the middle, and this thing happened because of the promotion of the movie when it was released, mistake, big mistake, but don't let that down you, pay attention in freddy's mind, don't you think, for his deformed face and mind, he wasn't having fun when he kill the childrens and the tennagers? For him, it was all about a revenge, but played like an video-game. You don't really need to like this movie, I didn't like it very much, but you have to respect it!
Rating: Summary: Not that great of a sequel Review: the worst film in the series, but good for laughs. freddy is too comical with rediculous killings, out of the blue family member, and subpar ending
Rating: Summary: Delving Into Freddy's Past . . . Review: Freddy's Dead : The Final Nightmare was a decent entry in the Nightmare series. There were a few problems though. The dialogue, some of it, was a little corny. Most of the dialogue spoken by Freddy in the beginning and middle of Final Nightmare wasn't dark and scary at all. The only thing a little bit scary about the Freddy we see in the present world in the movie is his image, which is getting to be a little comical. Lisa Zane and the other actors all gave believable performances. Especially Lezlie Deane, who played Tracie, a girl who was abused by her father. That gave her rage, and I believe she could've made it as the film's heroine. But they stuck with Lisa Zane, playing Freddy's daughter. She being Freddy's daughter was a nice little twist though, since we all thought the character of John was Freddy's son. What really made Final Nightmare was how we were introduced to Freddy's past. We saw him as a little kid where he was picked upon by his fellow classmates and how demented he was, even at a tender age. They also go through his teen years to show how he was abused by his own father (Alice Cooper camoed as Freddy's father), and into his adulthood, where he murdered his own wife. We also see how he evolved into the dream stalker he is.
Rating: Summary: Freddy's Dead is sure right! Review: I only saw this freddy flick 4 times and I don't want to see it ever again. The setting and story of this film was so stupid and confusing I fell asleep during it twice! If you want to see a good Freddy flick see Nightmare1,2,3,4,5,and Wes Craven's New Nightmare.Freddy's Dead stinks!
Rating: Summary: What happened! Review: What happened. I loved the original Nightmare on Elm Street but this. This is like Tales from the Crypt meets in the kitchen with Bob. Totally wierd. I did like the part about learning about Freedi's history but the rest was pretty lame. Whatever happened to the evil dark Freddi from the first movie. I'm pretty amune to scary movies so don't take my judgement but I don't think that this movie would scare a five year old. Do not get this movie if your looking for thrills get it if your looking for information on Freddi's background.
