Summary: A TERRIFYING LITTLE JEWEL
Review: For weeks after I first saw this movie, I'd look in the mirror and the name would tremble on my lips, but I was always too frightened to let it slip out. That's how deep the effect on me was. The villian gives Jason, Freddy, et al a true run for their money due to being one of the few bad guys with real spirit. Another must-see for ANY true fan of the genre, without delay. Scream? Please. Sit down. Candyman completely blows it out of the water.

Summary: unlike any horror movie you have ever seen!
Review: canyman is truly one of the most original horror films ever made. It is dark and atmospheric and contains the most chilling score ever! The plot is truly creepy and the ending is really different from what one might expect. this is not your typical horror movie and it may not appeal to all horror fans, but it is worth giving a try.

Summary: Candyman is one horror film that really scared me!
Review: I don't know why but maybe because he's so dark and menacing but there's something about him that sends chills up my spine (I've seen 2 Candyman movies so far). I don't scare easily either! I really enjoyed being on edge watching this movie. It was different than other horror movies and I've seen them all.

Summary: What is everyone talking about???
Review: I was so excited when i rented this movie because of all the hype. My friend claimed it was the scarest movie ever. Is it just me who thinks this is the worst movie ever made? I don't think the movie even had one good scare in it. The story was stupid, the acting was worse. And i'm sorry, but I can't see a black guy being a serial killer...it just seemed like a white guys role...like freddy, jason, myers, leatherface, etc. Even though i know the point of the movie was about him being a slave or something....which made the story even more stupid. If anyone out there is looking for a good scare...forget this movie and rent halloween.

Summary: Scary for the first half, then plummets to disaster!
Review: I don't know why this movie was so popular. It starts out good, with barely any gore. Unfortunately, the silly ending erupts into an inferno of blood, crane hooks, and utter stupidity. If you are looking for a scary movie, watch Halloween (the best horror film ever made), but do yourself a favor and avoid this piece of garbage that has somehow gotten out of Hollywood

Summary: YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: A brilliant story by Clive Barker is turned into a worthless piece of crap film transfer. This movie is so potently disgusting and gory, that you are more revolted than scared. People seem to forget that a movies quality is not based on the amount of gore or blood that spills out of every scene. Its such a shame. If Clive Barker had directed this, it would have been watchable.

Summary: scariest movie
Review: the reason why i give it 4 stars is because how scary it is people say the excorsists is the scariest but i cant even say his name once

Summary: Fast paced horror/psychological thriller.
Review: Candyman is one of the best horror films I have seen that was made before 1996's SCREAM.Candyman tells the tragic story of Helen Lyle a gradstudent from the university of Illinois who starts to study an urban legend called CANDYMAN(a hook-weilding half dead slave). The story really takes off when a woman's baby is kidnapped by the Candyman and Helen is blamed for the crime. If you buy this movie,or are thinking about it you should read the short story by Clive Barker,In his "I the Flesh (which should be available at your local library.

Summary: The best horror film of the 90s.
Review: Scream comes close, but the comedy element of that film seems to fit in another genre, horror-comedy maybe. Candyman, on the other hand, is TRUE horror yet belongs in a category all it's own. Besides being downright scary as hell, it's an excellent FILM. Everything from the sound to story pacing is tight and extremely effective, and I have to agree with what someone else here said: Philip Glass' score is so subtle and creepy, it's PERFECT. I can't understand people who don't see the pure beauty of this movie. If you like horror like I do, you should really see this film, maybe even more than once. I saw Candyman in the theater back in '92 and I walked out shaken and completely freaked out. I couldn't look into a mirror for a few days. The only other horror films that have had that effect on me were Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Even though of course I'm not as scared when I watch it now, I can appreciate the skill in which it was crafted and still be swept up in the fantasy this movie creates. Then again, if you're into crap like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Faculty, and other trash-horror, you may not appreciate something of this caliber. As for anyone else, it's really is worth checking out.

Summary: One of the best movies ever
Review: I have seen this movie at least three times, and the more I see it, the more I like it. I can say it's one of my favourites movies ever.

It's frightening indeed, despite the lack of gore, because looks almost real, almost possible to happen.

In addition, I love the sublime score composed by Philipp Glass. I searched the web for days until I got a midi file of it.
