Summary: one hellish movie
Review: i watched it on video a couple of years ago and i got it on dvd last year and it was uncut which i thought was better than the video it is a total classic but jason x is better than the other nine movies put together

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Couldn't have been more frightening
Review: This is the must own dvd for anyone who likes the series. the first time i saw it, i was frightened, not to mention speachless. It was so graphic as well as amazing, as well as probably the most violent and graphic sex scene of the series, and of all horror films. It takes place from Jason being blown to smitherines, despite his brain living. a paramedic is forced by jasons soul to eat the brain, which is just the begginging of the terror. It is a curse which can be passed on to anyone. leaving the question, where is jason now? he could be anywhere. he shows up at the end, for a final battle of his life. (or so i wished, with the acception of jason x.) despite the fact it SHOULD have been the final movie of the series, the reason they made Jason x, is probably because they wanted to remind people there was still a hockey masked sedistic psycho killer who can do none other than kill, and simply whisper chh chh chh haa haa haa. chh chh chh haa haa haa. chh chh chh haa haa haa.

Summary: It's a great DVD, but the movie still tanks
Review: I had originally lambasted Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday before it finally hit DVD and Jason X was released, but here I go again with this film which I believe is the absolute worst in the series (and that is saying something). The film starts off with a great surprise by seeing our favorite masked killer get blown to bits, followed by a slithering, slimy creature which is really Jason that is jumping from body to body. It sounds like a nice idea, but it isn't pulled off well at all, and Jason Goes to Hell is just one big bore. However, there are some good points. It is very nice to see an older film in the Friday series on DVD with some actual extras on it (thanks to New Line/Warner, who now own the Jason property, while the other older films were distributed by Paramount) including a commentary by the director and screen writer, and it also includes the extremely violent unrated version that is by far the absolute goriest film in this long running series. All in all, fans of Jason should give this a look (if they haven't already), but otherwise than that, Jason Goes to Hell is a dud.

Summary: OFF THE MARK!!
Review: People that give this movie a good review, forget what the story is about. You can't follow the same storyline for 7 parts and then screw it up with Manhattan and this scifi bodysnatching garbage. Two stars for begining and ending and it's apart of the greatest horror legacy,so I do have it in my collection.

Summary: Something new for a change
Review: Out of all the Fridays ive seen this is by far second most creative in the series. I like it mostly because of the plot twist in this one. The story like New Blood is a new kind of story, Jason returns and is quickly killed off in the beginning when later examining his heart a surgeon eats it and jason posseses his mind to kill. Later on they switch off characters to become the possesive Jason. This installment is quite good of the trilogy. This one is by far the goriest one of the saga. I mean some of this stuff will get you saying ewww. The acting is bad though but the death, gore, and story makes up for the bad acting, but the one thing i cant handle in this one is the score.

Summary: Jason's "How to" On Outliving Your Childhood Camping Spot
Review: After marketing your own brand of serial-stalking Nikes (well, not really, but he should look into the franchise) and becoming something of a commercialized hockeymask wearing, machete-toting killer, what is left to do for a murder to do? Why, be blown to bits and then reborn into another body, of course! In this installation of the Jason Vorheez's saga, Jason finds himself targeted by what seem to be military forces, baited out into the open by his favorite type of unsuspectingly showering pray, and then introduced to firepower that the slow-walking nightmare has only dreamed of. With him finally dead, the public sigh of relief can be heard resounding from the lungs of the populous at large. Its too bad for them that legends, like moves that spawn sequel after sequel, can always be remade - especially when they have a mystically endowed plan on their side!

Of all the Friday the 13ths, this seemed the most akin to a bloody comedy/shoutout film to me, garnering both laughs and closely accompanying "ouch, that has to hurt"s in close succession. There were many features that made it like this, beginning in the opening chase where the cutaway scene were badly edited and a barefoot runner can be seen wearing shoes off and on, and slowly crawling through the spectacle as it powered forward. In certain scenes there were greetings thrown to other films as well, such as a copy of the infamously acclaimed Necronomicon lying about in beautiful detail and the Nightmare on Elm Street exclamation point that appears later in the film. Added onto that were some gory moments of demise as all sorts of objects are commandeered and plunged into unsuspectingly (and oftentimes partially nude) victims, keeping the pace from getting too dull as a story is attached in B-class fashions.

For anyone looking to attach a storyline to their Friday the 13th viewing, you should have learned by now. This is a sequel and should be enjoyed in the campiness of a theme drifting farther and farther away from its topic. The only thing I really fault the movie on is a lack of Jason himself through quite a bit of the film; but its something that works out all right because of the little monster looming inside that animated meat package and because of the fact that I liked the oddly fashioned tale. Anyone looking to tune in to the beginning, however, should never start this far up the slaughtering ladder.

Summary: Best Of The J-Man's Adventures!
Review: Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday. Wow. What a fun film. Best of the Friday the 13th series. An excellent flick. Underrated. Those are just some words that describe this movie.

I'm a huge fan of the Friday The 13th series. I even own them all on DVD, despite the fact that the Paramount DVDs are lacking in extras. I watch them over and over again. However, I'm with the small group of fans who find this one the best. It's different from the others, and I like that. Friday the 13th Part VIII Jason Takes Manhattan is actually my least favorite of them all, because it's very tired and pretty dull. That's what makes JGTH special. It tries to be a standout in the series, and delivers like no other. It never slows down in the slightsest. There's some really cool action scenes, and the gore is top notch. In fact, if you're watching the Unrated version (the only one that should be watched), it's safe to say this is the goriest of the whole series (I was extremely dissapointed with Jason X's gore scenes, which were few). What we got here is a probe through the head, an impalement through a naked girl (who is chopped in half), smashed neck, melting man, crushed skull, broken back, and many more. This one also has the most topless girls in it (only in the Unrated version), including an incredibly graphic sex scene that earned the film an NC-17!

The acting in this flick is way better than in the others. Everyone looks like they're having fun, and nobody's taking it to0 seriously (except maybe Erin Gray). Most of the people in this movie are adults, which is a change for these movies (though in the others 25 year olds were playing teens) and even some veteran actors like Erin Gray and Billy Green Bush (for the masterpiece Critters). John D. Lemay is very likeable as the nerdy but strong Steven, and Kari Keegan makes a realistic and smart Jessica. I loved Vicki, and Allison Smith played her just right. Other supporing roles were all fantastic, including Rusty Schwimmer, Richard Gant, Steven Culp, and Steven Williams.

The directing is dynamite. I can't believe 23 year olds could make such a good looking movie. The action sequences are very cool, and the deaths give you all the detail. My favorite action scenes is either the diner shoot-out or the police blow-out. Very fun.

Anyway, moving on to the DVD, it's very good. Not a special edition, or anything, but it is great. The picture is almost flawless (the movie always looked better than the others), and the sound is loud. The special features are what made me rush buy it though. There's a funny audio commentary that I've listened to twice, and the trailer. There's also an extremely uselful and fun for parties Jump to The Death. Click play all and let em roll! There's also very interesting television Scenes.

#1. Diner Scene. I really enjoy this extended scene and wish it hadn't been cut. it develops all the characters as friends more and was very sweet.

#2. Prank Phone Call. This is a hilarious scene that would have been in the film instead of the big sex scene had test audiences not asked for sex. So the guys had to go add that tasty little ten scene (which I prefer), so this scene was cut. It's funny, but ruined a little by bad TV dubbing ("Holy Crow! Holy Gee! Frig You! Freaking!").

#3. Cuffing Steven. This is so short (15 seconds) it really makes no difference.

#4. Introduction Scene. A short scene, but it should have been left in because it further proves what a scumbag Robert is, when he lies to the sheriff about why he's in Crystal Lake.

#5. Giving Vikci The Baby. Just an extended scene, which makes no difference to the film.

#6. Vicki and David. This is a nice little scene where we meet Vickie's boyfriends, David, although it doesn't show him getting killed.

#7. Vicki Gets To Work. This extended scene shows more to the mean side of Joey B, as she hangs up a fake sympathy sign stating how much they loved Diana Kimble.

#8. Jessica Alone At Home. This extended scene of Jessica wandering around at night makes no real difference.

#9. Randy and Steven On The Roadside. This is a stupid extended scene that was fortunately trimmed down.

Another thing the DVD features is the option of R-Rated or Unrated versions. I love this because I can show people why the R-Rated version is horrible. However, it seems this isn't the real R-Rated version. If I remember correctly, after the teens say to Steven "We're thinking about smoking some pot, having some pre-marital sex, and not worrying about getting slaughtered", in the R-Rated version Steven didn't say "To be young again", but he does in this R-Rated verskion. Also, Ward's hand getting broken off is here, but it wasn;t on video. I don't know what's up with this, but since I'm not planning to watch this version anytime soon, it doesn't matter much.

Anyway, hope this review helped. Buy this movie now.

Summary: What were they thinking?
Review: This movie is a victim of bad script writing and greedy movie executives. If you have not seen this movie stop reading this and go rent it, because I give away key plot points. I would like to meet the people that decided to make this movie and those that wrote it, because I would like to slap the [stuff] out them. Why does the coroner eat the brain of Jason, and why does the brain mutate into parasitic monster that spreads through human to human by the carrier throwing it up into the other persons mouth? Who is this bounty hunter that is searching for Jason and where was he when Jason was cutting up teenagers at Camp Crystal? Why does the parasite turn into Jason when it enters the body of a dead Vorehes? Why doesn't Jason kill the boyfriend instead of fighting him? He ruthlessly killed everybody else that has stood up to him. Where the heck did the bounty hunter get the knife that kills Jason, and didn't he use this knife when Jason was chopping up tons of teenagers at Camp Crystal? There is so much stuff in this movie that doesn't make sense compared to the rest of the Jason series. There are only two reasons this movie even gets two stars, one is because of the sex scene where Jason stabs the woman with a metal stake through the tent, while she was riding her man. The second is because of the scene in the cafe where Jason storms in and the owners stand up to him and eventually die. I can not recommend this movie for anyone.

Summary: No one can defy death better than Jason Voorhees!
Review: The murderous, diabolical, indestructable, psycho-fiend, Jason Voorhees, is back in his ninth film, and this time, he's not who he used to be! For all you Friday the 13th fans out there who have been wanting a different type of Jason movie, this is the break you've been waiting for.

Right at the beginning, we all see an event that sets the mood of the story. Late at night at Camp Crystal Lake, a sexy girl camper, the perfect kind of prey for the homicidal Jason Voorhees, gets ready to turn in for the night after showering. The lights go out and she is confronted by Jason (who else?). But little does Jason know that this camper is really an FBI agent. The under-cover agent lures Jason into the woods where teams of agents armed with lethal firearms lie in wait. As Jason raises his blood-stained machete and goes in for the kill, lights turn on and the squad starts filling him full of holes before Jason is blown apart in a grenade explosion. But as we watch Jason's body get blown to kingdom come, we see the serial killer bounty hunter, Creighton Duke, watching the scene from behind a tree. "I don't think so," he says. It's obvious that Jason is not actually dead. Each time Jason is believed to be finally gone, he arises with more rage and power than ever. Now he has the ability to jump between bodies. From the mourge where his remains are examined, Jason's dead, yet still beating, heart comes alive and takes over the body of the corenor after trancing him into eating it! And as the now-possesed man walks out of the room after murdering a fellow worker Jason-style, we catch a glimpse of his reflection on a steel door. Only it's not HIS reflection. We see Jason, in all his glory, instead. The essence of Jason, in the form of a snakelike monster, leaps from person to person through some bloody transfers of spirit so that Jason can pose as anyone. As it turns out, it's the ultimate identity crisis. Jason may not look the same, but he still has all the blood-frenzied rage and psycho killer instincts that make him the total mockery of humanity that he is (he doesn't wear that hockey mask for nothing either!).

Jason is out for more than just continuing his murders as he heads back to Crystal lake posing as someone else. And what is he after? Well, watch the movie and see for yourself! And remember, if you see the word "final" in the title of a Friday the 13th moive, you can assume that it really isn't final. If you puke easily, this movie isn't for you, especially the autopsy scene, that one will nuasiate even the most tolerant of watchers. Here's some last words to all of you out there who are trying to kill Jason: "You can shoot Jason down and blow him away. BUT HE'LL RISE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY!!!"
