Summary: Nothing This Evil Ever Dies...
Review: "Nothing this evil ever dies". True. And nothing this bad ever *ends*.
Actually, to be fair, this has to be my favourite movie in an otherwise sour series of films, because it was the first to introduce an element of humour into the proceedings. The randomness of the James Bond opening credits, for instance, or that Smiley Face that one of the victims leaves imprinted on the tree when they slide off of it. It's zany, it's nuts, and it's also quite, quite fun.
Basically, Tommy Jarvis (all growned up) returns to the place they buried Jason *just* to make sure that the unstoppable madman is really dead. Cue timely lightning bolt, that resurrects the murderer for a brand new slaughter spree. It's like Night of the Living Dead on acid, for Jason is now an indestructible *zombie*, as if things couldn't get any worse. So he begins to hack and slash his way through the local population on a journey to... well, God knows *where*, all the while being chased by Tommy and his dubiously dressed sidekick, the lovely Sheriff's daughter. A romance forms admist the bloodshed, but who really cares?? What's more important is that Mr Voorhees is off once again, and he's taking everybody with him.
I definitely recommend this as one of the best of the franchise, along with Jason X and The Final Friday, which also have big production values and oodles of gore, respectively. (**SPOILER**) Look out for my favourite scene, where Jason stands astride the burning motor home he has just capsized, as the fire rages around him... it's *so* iconic.

Summary: Bad Way to Bring Jason Back to Life
Review: This movie definetly had some comedy in it, but I think the beginning really took some points off. Figures that there's a huge lightning bolt that brings him back to life. I guess you could watch this movie. After part 4, the series really went downhill. It's better than part 5 at least.

Summary: Friday The 13th Part VI is a strong entry into the series.
Review: The Friday The 13th series is now 10 films in, and I still find it extremely entertaining. To be honest with you, I like the newer films in the series better than the first few.

In the 6th installment of Friday The 13th, nothing is really new except a few twists and turns here and there, but it's still a strong film in the series nonetheless. The main character this time around is the grown up Tommy Jarvis, (the little boy who destroyed Jason in Friday The 13th Part 4). Returning to Jason's grave, he digs it up to make sure he is really dead... and he is, until lightning strikes, awakening Jason once again (sound farmliar? Yep. Cheesey I know but you have to expect things like this in the series). Tommy manages to escape to the police but they shun his plea and lock him up for his "dangerous behavior". Meanwhile, Jason continues his massacre at Crystal Lake (now renamed to Forest Green, so that people will forget about the murders that happened there before).

Jason this time around has been provided with some great makeup artists. You'll see what I mean when Jason first rises from the grave. Impressing.

Something I don't like about this film is how the filmmakers decided to throw in a little humour, which IS humerous, but sort of ruins the mood for this slasher.

Like the films in the series before this, the acting is cheesey ... Don't expect any academy award winners here.

As far as blood and gore is concerned, look no further. Unlike Friday The 13th Part 7, you'll find lots of blood and guts in this one, and some of the death scenes are very creative. Good work.

Another reason why I gave this DVD 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are no special features and hardly any extras at all except for the theatre teaser which is kinda cool.

While this film tends to drag time to time, it is a STRONG entry into the Friday The 13th series. Well worth your time.

Summary: The Best Friday the 13th of all
Review: This was the best friday the 13th of all. It had a good soundtrack, mostly by the Alice Cooper of old and by all means was the scariest and most beleivable of them all. I first watched this movie when i was a little kid and it was the only horror movie that kept wouldn't let me sleep for almost two weeks without making sure my closets were closed, windows locked, etc. Jason was the scariest i'd ever seen him. He had the big and nasty look about him and just gave you one of those feelings that your glad your not the one he's after. Also, for all those who like a little romance in the horror movies they watch this one takes it. The grown up Tommy Jarvis (from Friday the 13th series 4 & 5) meets the sherriff's daughter and wind up liking each other and falling in love at first sight, it sounds pretty strange for a horror movie, but it mixes in perfectly well with the movie. So if you want to see an excellent horror movie with a loved one and scare the bejesus out of her or him watch this one, it's got a little of everything in it, from comedy, suspence, some romance, to mostly blood and guts to which is what every horror movie loves to see.

Summary: "Finally, I can give an F-13 movie 5 stars!"
Review: This one was the best I have seen, besides "Jason Takes Manhattan," and it was actually scary! Plus, when it just showed Jason's eye looking through the mask, it will definately remind you of the Creeper from "Jeepers Creepers." Unlike the last one, this is Jason and he's meaner than ever! The plot is, Tommy Jarvis keeps having hallucinations of Jason and keeps dreaming about the hockey-masked killer coming back to life. So, he and his friend go to the graveyard and dig up Jason's corpse, Tommy begins to stab it with a pole and suddenly it gets struck by lightening and it electricutes Jason's body, putting life back into it once more. And so, the diabolical Jason Voorhees has returned to what he does best -- KILL! A definate Wall-of-Famer, "Jason Lives" really packs a wallop in horror, action, and humor (especially during the little paintball squabble in the woods). So, you should definately buy this one, you'll wanna watch it over and over. No, really, you will.

Summary: Ch ch ch ch... Go Jason Go...
Review: I LOVE this movie! This is an awesome entry into the Friday the 13th series. It's got some excellent kills, some hillarious lines, such as in a scene where Jason is standing in the middle of a dirt road holding an iron fence bar and the male passenger in an approaching volkswagon tells his girlfriend who is driving to just keep driving and it will "scare" him, and she replies, "We're going to scare him?" absolutely hillarious. My favourite "kill" was the very first one when Jason who has just been so rudely disturbed from the after life, and has just been reenergized by a bolt of lightning, jams his hand into the chest of the character played by Ron Palillo of Welcome Back Kotter fame, and rips out his heart. Cool. The only thing I didn't appreciate was all of the editing of the kill scenes. I wish that Paramount and/or New Line Cinema, would release uncut, unedited versions of all the films on DVD. Of course the movie had the typical naive Sherrif who naturally doesn't believe that Jason is out there, geez, don't these guys ever watch horror movies? All in all, a great addition to the series, which I'm sure, if you accept it for what it is, you'll enjoy it.

Summary: The best friday the 13th
Review: Ah Jason's back and better then ever, Brought back to life by the very person who put him in the ground! OK it's not the best movie on earth but it's very entertaining and well acted and directed. Odds are you know what this movie is about, I can't fathom anyone not knowing what a friday the 13th movie is about so I'll talk about the quality of this dvd. The anamorphic widescreen picture is great very sharp with minimal graininess, very clear and colorful. The Dolby 4.0 souround sound surprisingly very good, Sound comes from all 5 speakers and creates a believable soundfield and it's pretty load too. As with all other friday the 13th dvd's there are no special features there's only a theatrical trailer, Paramount could have at least put some of those funny alice copper music videos on this disc (anyone remember those?). This dvd is a must own for any horror movie fan and it's definitly the best Jason flick to date.Pros: Great picture and sound quality Theatrical trailerCons: No special features.

Summary: He's back
Review: After being absent from the fifth sequel, our loveable hockey-masked murderer returns from the dead to do his business. Jason is revived accidentally by Tommy from the 4th & 5th movies. This is the start of what I like to call "The Angry Jason Trilogy" which includes this, Pt. 7 and Pt. 8. In this movie, and in all three, Jason is back from the dead and is virtually unstopable. Nothing effects him. In the earlier movies he could be knocked unconcious or tripped or something, but in this movie, he is just impossible to take down. So naturally, this translates into a very good movie. Even though some of the essential Friday the 13th elements are missing (Nudity, Blood) this sequel is often named the best by most Friday the 13th fans. Well, in my opinion, the fact that it is missing those elements is the reason why this will never be my favorite.
