Summary: Obviously not as good as original, but still good
Review: It seems as if the only reason people bash Halloween 2 is because they want it to be Halloween, and get upset that it wasn't a re-release of the original. Well, if you are more open-minded, and watch it, and appreciate it for what it is as its own film, you will realize that it is a good solid film with some chilling scares, and stands well on its own. Halloween 3(no true relation to the series), 4, 5, 6, H20, and the new [movies] with busta"move"rhymes don't have nearly as much suspense, chills, creativity, and good cinamatography combined as Halloween 2. The truth is that Halloween and Halloween 2 are the only two movies that are worth seeing in this series. Part 4 was decent enough, but a waste of time overall. The rest(3,5,6,h20, and resurrection) should burned and forgotten. I could have [made] better films !! But, 2 was good, and continues and ends the story of Halloween, and it should have stopped when the credits rolled at the end of it. If it had, the Halloween series would have been two movies, and would have been great, but unfortanetly it went to hell and got turned into cliched slasher films by awful two-bit directors and writers.

Summary: Picture: good. Sound: bad.
Review: The picture quality on Universal's re-release of Halloween 2 is excellent. Like the Goodtimes release, H2 is presented in its original aspect ratio of 2:35.1, and it looks great. What I like about H2 is it takes place directly after the events of H1---Michael Myers, the deranged serial killer who escapes from a psychiatric hospital 15 years after he brutally murdered his sister at the age of 6, is shot off the balcony of the Strode house by his doctor, Sam Loomis. After killing three of teenage girl Laurie Strode's friends, during the earlier hours of the night, and stalking Laurie for the day & attacking her at night, Laurie is injured and shocked and taken to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. The hunt continues for Michael, with Sam Loomis and Sheriff Brackett hot on his trail. Whereas in this film's predecessor, the authorities were oblivious to Sam's warnings, now they are in full alert, a town experiencing its first panic in years, and Brackett's daughter, having been murdered by Michael in Halloween 1, is found in this film. The main gripe about this DVD is the audio. The sound quality is horrible. Presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 (Dolby Pro Logic) the sound is very bad, compared to other DVDs. The original commentary, promised by Rick Rosenthal, and the deleted scenes were scrapped off the disc at the last minute before H2 was rereleased. Now it only has Production Notes and a Theatrical Trailer. Not worth buying, but worth a rent to see a great horror sequel.

Summary: More of the Night He Came Home
Review: As you can see, I've given only one star to Halloween II. Here's why. The film doesn't set out to scare, it sets out to torture with explicitly graphic and gory scenes that would leave any sane person cringing. Halloween II is a BIG letdown and one of the worst sequels ever made. It's better than Halloween III only because it atleast shares a small fraction of what made the original so great. After ruining John Carpenter's classic piano score with a synthesizer version, the film begins where the original left off. Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) is hunting down Michael and Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) is taken to the hospital. This is where it gets silly. Since when are hospitals so dimly lit that you can barely see down the hallways? And where are all the other patients? Michael walks all the way to the hospital, doing nothing to avoid the police, but does anyway. Also, no one notices a knife-wielding lunatic with six gunshot wounds walking around town, which is very idiotic. Once at the hospital, an explosion of violence erupts. In trying to outdo the violence level in Friday the 13th, Halloween II lacks originality and believable characters. If you think I'm wrong, remember this-Halloween II features an injection needle insertion into an eyeball and a face scalding in boiling water. If you like that sort of thing, then go ahead. Remember to bring a vomit bag.

Summary: The Terror Continues!
Review: First of all, I've never seen the original Halloween (1978). One day a few weeks ago, I was flipping through channels on my TV. I came upon USA and Halloween II was on. I watched it, and I thought it was great. The murder sequences are truly scary, and John Carpenter's music is creepy and chilling. After being shot six times in the heart and falling off a balcony, Michael Myers was left by Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) for dead. But, it turns out he's alive and he's after his sister Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), who's being treated at Haddonfield Hospital. Michael gets in and starts killing everyone (the best death was when he dunked a girl's head in a hot tub and she burned) and Dr. Loomis is trying to stop the horror. Will Dr. Loomis defeat Michael before he kills Laurie? To find out, watch the movie. This is a great film, even if you haven't seen any others. Note: I've also seen some of Halloween: H20 (1998).

Review: great sequel I thought Halloween 4 was better then 2. 2 is still great John Carpenter worked on this installment and it shows. If you want a good time and a good sequal check this out

Summary: Best sequel in the series
Review: I am a huge fan of the original Halloween. I saw it at a young age and it completely blew my mind and ever since then, I've been devoted to the entire series. I can't say that I hate any of the sequels, but some of them are a far cry from what the first movie was all about. Halloween II is probably the one sequel in the series that fans can agree is good. It completely expands on everything Halloween started. It picks up immediately after the first one ended and in this movie we follow Laurie Strode to a hospital where she is being treated for her stab wound. However, Michael is determined to track her down and follows her there. Well, seeing how the hospital is full of people and sharp objects and this is a Halloween movie, you can figure out what ensues over the next hour and a half. There is PLENTY of gore and graphic murders to go around in this flick. Even though the first half hour completely stinks and is torture to sit through, the rest of the movie is just flat out awesome. If you liked the first one, give Halloween II a chance.

Summary: Sequel varies from original yet maintains basic plot
Review: Michael Myers does not seem to keep himself hidden from view in this sequel. He walks around Haddonfield and the hospital in clear sight of everyone. Still, Halloween 2 maintains the plot of the original and continues the storyline. The same characters are brought back and the story continues on the same night the original ended. I give this movie 4 stars because of its variation of Myers actions, including non-typical random killings and more blood. Halloween 2 is a great movie despite the minor changes and I think you will certainly enjoy it.

Summary: The best sequal ever
Review: Personally I think that this movie is one of the best sequals. Not only does it follow on from exactly where the origional finnished but it has twice the blood and gore and a really good story line. It is a must see.

Summary: Outstanding Story, Excellent Disc
Review: 4 stars only because it does lack something from the original Halloween... On a positive note, however, what Halloween accomplished with character development (a sense that you know these people or someone much like them) and with a mood of unease, Halloween II accomplished by creating an eerie feeling of isolation in the darkest hours of night and the wee hours of the morning; somewhat like one of those nightmares you feel trapped in until you wake up in a cold sweat. This is exemplified by the scene where Laurie is clutched with horror to the point that she cannot summon the strength to run and just claws on the asphalt of the parking lot.
Halloween II is a very logical sequel and there was really no way to avoid the path it took and still have it make any sense. Michael Meyers is devisive but some of his tricks are tacky and some seem to be a waste of time. I would say that the most ridiculous part of the film was the steadily increasing body count. Rick Rosenthal should have concentrated more on developing a quality story and less on thrilling people with peculiar killing methods. Still the story is worthy of its predecessor and a fitting end to the series. All the other sequels are unecessary fluff though still fun to watch.
Universal's newest disc is awesome in quality. I saw Halloween II on TV shortly after buying the disc. There is no comparison. I do wish, though, that Universal would release an "R" rated version with the made-for television scenes added in (except for the alternate ending) much like Anchor Bay did with Halloween. It would mildly improve the story, especially where the hospital staff are unsuccessfully trying to reach Laurie's parents. And what happened to the original movie poster art that made the VHS so creepy? Perhaps if Universal does another release they can restore the original cover, or maybe treat us to the cover art from Jack Martin's 1981 novel adaptation of the movie.

Summary: Brent a 12 year old viewer - this movie has it all!
Review: I think that this sequel to halloween had everything a good horror movie could have. Gore, edge of your seat suspense, good plot, the finale is great, and a good body count so if your hoping for a saturday night chiller see Halloween II which is MORE OF THE NIGHT HE CAME HOME!
