Review: Halloween gets five stars out of five for a well done masterpecie, creativity, and horror. The film is well done and scary and proves to be the best out of it's sequels. Halloween is better than I Know What You Did Last Summer, Friday The 13th, and A Nightmare On Elm Street sereis. The sequels were outstanding. Halloween is the best, followed by Halloween 6, than Halloween H2o. Halloween is a true scare, the features are wonderful, the aduio and vedio were superb and good, I recommend you rent it before you buy it.

Summary: A horror classic from the director of Assault on Precinct 13
Review: Violent death can stalk us anywhere, even in our own quiet little town. That's the message John Carpenter sent to the filmgoing public when he released Halloween upon the world back in 1978. Using suspense and atmosphere rather then blood and guts for it's scares, Halloween can be called a 'purists horror film'. It was shot on a shoestring budget with little to no special effects. It's just a guy in a mask stalking a babysitter. So Why is it so powerful? For the same reason HP Lovecraft stories are so frightening... it's setting and characters. It could easily be you or me in this situation. Carpenter and his co-writer Debra Hill do a good job keeping one foot in reality throughout most of the movie and Carpenter's direction is still the most inventive and unnerving piece of art in all of horror. This is a movie you don't watch so much as FEEL. Carpenter's electronic score, the natural performances by Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Loomis, and the late Donald Pleasence, and the brilliant cinemotography of Dean Cundy all make Halloween what it is: the best horror film ever to grace the screen since Psycho.

Summary: Scary, Man, Scary.
Review: This is absolutely the best horror flick of all time. This one started it all, all the slasher flicks originated from "Halloween" (even though some argue it was "Psycho"). Trust me, it's "Halloween."

This film has it all- murder, suspense, murder, a psycho killer, murder, sex, some murder, graphic violence, murder, superb acting (for a horror movie), murder, near perfect direction, and did I meantion MURDER? The suspense will you have you biting away all your nails on your hands, the psycho killer will make you fear for your pathetic life, the sex will make you "in the mood," the graphic violence will make you cover your eyes, the superb acting will make you think twice about Jamie Lee Curtis and friends, and the near perfect direction by John Carpenter is bar none only to Mike Nichols' "The Graduate." Really. No lie, dude.

But what's most likely the best feature in this movie is the music. The classic score makes you realize Carpenter is a cinematic genius (we can now forgive him for "Halloween 2"). I ran right out and bought the soundtrack and I don't have any regrets.

I highly advise, ok, I BEG you to see this movie! Then you can be like me and say, "What a movie!"

Review: If you are into horror, go rent "Scream" But if you want a real post-modern materialistic 1970s view of small town America, see "The Stepford Wives" If these two titles are out at the video store, I guess you could see "Halloween"

It's Ok

Summary: The nightmare never ends...
Review: In 1963 a young Michael Myers brutally murdered his older sister. After 15 years in a mental hospital, he escapes. This time he's after his kid sister, Laurie Strode. The nightmare never ends...

"Halloween" is one of the few horror movies I can accept as a standard horror movie. It was original when it was released back in 1978. But unfortunately it spawned several useless sequels. The sequels were both gross and stupid, and it didn't seem to catch the spirit that "Halloween" had.

Anchor Bay recently released a new version of "Halloween" on DVD. This version has been fully restored and the sound is digitally remastered. The result is breathtaking. The transfer looks like the movie was shot yesterday and the sound is amazing.

There are some really valueable extras on the DVD. There's a documentary called "Halloween Unmasked 2000" which features interviews with the director and the cast. I really wished that there was a interview with the late Donald Pleasence for obvious reasons. Recommended to all Halloween fans.

Summary: The #1 Horror of All Time!
Review: No movie in this world will ever be more chilling and thrilling than HALLOWEEN. It's been over 20 years and this movie is still being talked about. Today's movies arent scary anymore because they add special effects and the background music isn't scary at all. HALLOWEEN is a type of movie that will always scare us no matter how old the movie gets and make us think who has us on there targets! If you want a really scary movie, then buy HALLOWEEN...because as far as I know, it will scare you to death! 5 stars all the way!

Review: This move is a true cult classic, perfect for the adrenaline junkie begging to be scared. This film uses a hauntingly, erie, theme, and a great use of erie effects to instill fear. From the opening scene where Michael kills Judith,to his escape, and through his terrifying killing spree.John Carpenter and Moustaphha Akkhad And the brilliance of the crew, the cast, and brilliant performances by relatively unknown Jamie Lee Curtis(this film earned her the title of SCREAM QUEEN),Donald Pleasance, among others. This film took what little funding and resources it had, and became the a monumental blockbuster, and The ESSENTIAL film for every horror movie fan!Unlike many films since the original halloween scared us without actually being just a slasher flick. The plot very easily could happen in this sick world!Brilliant Movie great plot, and even better performances.Long Live Michael Myers! Btw Halloween3 might carry the Halloween Title But will never be recognized by many fans as being part of that lineage!
