Summary: Halloween Is The Best Film Ever
Review: This is my absolute favorite film. It is genuinely scary, and there are no flaws. Jamie Lee Curtis is at her best in the leading role. Michael Meyers, in a mental hospital for stabbing his mother at a early age, escapes and goes on a killing rampage. The sequel, which came out 3 years later, is equal to this superb slasher flick.

Summary: Horror Masterpiece
Review: This gripping film, second only to Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO in its genre (horror), invented the slasher genre alongside the aforementioned film. It is a great film for many reasons. It is masterfully directed by John Carpenter, it has effective and believable performances by its cast, and it has a haunting score. This is truly a landmark film, and is possibly one of the 100 best ever made. Unfortunately, like most horror films, its respectable image was tarninshed by its many sequels. I give this film my highest possible recommendation. As for the sequels, well, you can guess how good they are.

Summary: I'M SICK OF IT!
Review: Why Why Why does everything on DVD HAVE TO BE limited edition!?

This is totally unfair to fans of the film now that the super cool 2 disc set is gone forever and said to be a collector's item. People, this is not action figures your collecting, ITS HOME VIDEO!

It should be pressed in large amounts never be numbered like their collective plates with the death star painted on it!

It makes no sense, now I'm stuck with the regular crapo version I might as well just keep watching my VHS and not buy the DVD which I'm not until whoever put this out gets it through their thick skulls that ALOT of Halloween fans missed the awesome 2 disc set much like A TON of Evil Dead fans missed the 2 disc Army of Darkness set.

STOP MAKING LIMITED EDITIONS, THEY ARE POINTLESS!

the film of course gets 5 stars, the idea of putting out COMPLETE VERSIONS OF THE DIRECTOR'S VISION OUT FOR ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS THEN NEVER RELEASING IT AGAIN GETS ZEROX1000000 STARS!

This DVD is stinky, you might as well keep you VHS cause there's nothing new on it.

Summary: A disturbing masterpeice.
Review: John Carpenter's Halloween cares not for plot or technicalities. It's a simple disturbing horror film that appeals to our most baser sensiblities.

Carpenter weaves a simple story of an escaped crazed maniac who returns to his hometown 15 years after he murders his sister. He seemingly randomly chooses his victims and kills them.

The some of the acting is great and some is bad but it's non-detrimental to the whole feeling of the film because if feels laid back and real. The ingenious camera work by Dean Cundey is something that must be experienced by all horror buffs.

Carpenter knows how to manipulate an audience's feelings by keeping the plot simple but creating intense feelings of suspense and fear. He achieves this by making the whole experience ramdom and out of real life. It feels like this could happen to you because these characters aren't doing anything out of the ordinary when evil is visited upon them and therefore suggests that evil needs not a catalyst for manifestation. Also there are no witty one-liners that no one says in real life.

The score must be heared! I can't say any more than that.

Halloween needs no bubble gummy Hollywood decorum or broken fire hydrant overindulgence. It needs only to dictate the universal language of fear.

Summary: THIS IS THE KIND OF MOVIE THAT SCARES THE S**T OUT OF YOU!
Review: Except for The Exorcist (which I refuse to watch all the way through), this one is the one that will make you believe in the NRA -- although bullets don't seem to kill this bastard either! I first saw this when cable was just coming out in NY, ( I was about 13 at the time). My girlfriend and I was entertained through the whole film. The music really gets your blood jumping because everytime you heard it, you knew Michael Myers was going to do something to somebody. Although this movie revised the slasher movie, the one thing I have to say is that it isn't too gory. This is the only slasher movie I could say that had a really good script attached with it. If you can, read the book. It gives a little more insight into Dr. Loomis' attempt to understand the psyche of Michael Myers.

Summary: This Mike Myers doesn't do comedy
Review: Arguably the best horror film of all time. Michael Myers, the quintessential "boogie man". Jaime Leigh Curtis, a very believable heroine. Donald Pleasence, an entertaining psychiatrist turned vigilante. A movie, that successfully plays off of our most common childhood fears. A musical score that fits it's subject matter perfectly. John Carpenter has created a masterpiece. I remember at the end of the movie, I yearned for a sequel(s), unfortunately..........it happened.

Summary: A movie no horror fan should go without seeing
Review: This is by far the best horror/slasher flick ever made. This was jamie lee curtis first movie and by far her best. Also donald pleasence is great in it. The movie's plot is a 6 year old child who murdered his sister, now full grown escapes from the mental institution hes been in since and now returns to the town of his first murder to continue his killing spree. This movie is also cool because instead of like normal blood and guts horror movies this one substitutes gore for suspense. A definite must see for any horror fan!

Summary: Halloween- the best slasher movie
Review: This movie is awesome, and it stands far above your usual slasher movies in that it will keep you on the edge of your seat and it doesn't need that much gore or violence. The theme is the best I have ever heard from any movie. Although this series was killed by its sequels, Halloween is none-the-less a true horror movie and one that any and all horror fans should check out.
