Summary: Slasher-comedy
Review: I thought this film was just plain funny, and so will happily fork out the cash when it gets released. Angel fans will be happy to see David Boreanaz smiling, a change from his usual brooding vampire, and given the nothing-special plotline, he does deliver a fantastic portrayel of a role that could have lead to the film being pathetic, but which he manages to avoid. Denise Richard fans will love the hot tub scene, while scream/slasher followers will put this down as a cult classic, while not being terribly scary, there is the expected tension, numerous gory deaths and gallons of bloodshed which allow it to leave a mark in your memory, while not wholly oscar worthy, this is a great films to watch with a bucket of popcorn and a bunch of friends when you have a free evening.

Summary: Slasher at it's best
Review: I kind of expected Valentine to be a bit of a let down, but as it turns out,it was a pretty suspencful slasher movie. The movie was well paced, well written, well acted, well produced, and well directed.David Boreanaz actually carried his role quite well.Director,Jamie Blanks, really did a great job with this movie,as he did with his previous movie,Urban Legend. And I have to give props for the creative death scenes.Valentine might not be nearly as good as Urban Legen or Scream, but it still is a great slasher.

Summary: Great Suspensful Movie
Review: I went into this movie thinking it would be the greatest slasher since Scream. I was right. Everything about this movie I loved. It had a great atmosphere (the mansion, the medical school.) It had jump scenes, a great cast and very cool deaths. This is a very good DVD. I would recommend this to any horror fan.

Summary: The BAD, the SAD and a WASTE OF TIME!
Review: Wow, it has been a LONG time since I have seen such a BAD movie! The acting was bad, the story was bad and I don't recall ever being scared. What are they thinking. You would think Hollywood can do better then this. If you think about it, most of the scary movies, I mean REALLY scary movies, are the old ones, classics, NOT this ...! I would really like to see some good horror movies come out. This unfortumately is not one of them. A well deserved 1 star for this one!!

Summary: First quality slasher flick in a LONG time.
Review: When I first saw the previews for "Valentine" I was intrigued, but expected the worst. Given the average horror film of the last decade or so, I wasn't going to get my hopes up. After garbage films like the "Scream" series, and "I know what you did last summer", how can one expect a quality product from a major company? This film harkens back to the good ole days when horror movies were entertaining. Films made between 1976-1984. This was the golden age of the horror film. Starting in 1987 everything began to go downhill, thanks to the 3rd film in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. This film introduced to the masses, totally out of place, ridiculous, kindergarten level, attempted humor. This became a staple of the horror film from that point on, and it's always in the most inappropriate places, which ultimately counteracts any possibility of fear. Horror isn't supposed to have more bad humor in it than it does mediocre suspense, but that's what's been selling for the past 10+ years, and it's rare that you see a horror film without it. Then comes "Valentine". The first thing that caught my attention was the mask, for the obvious retro reasons. The film is essentially about a group of girls that were extra nasty to a boy some years previous, which resulted in the kid being sent away. Now someone is taking revenge on the girls. Could it be this boy? No one knows what he would look like now so he could be anyone. There is some suspense in this film, plus you don't absolutely hate all the characters. They aren't running around, smoking dope, and making stupid one-liners just before being killed. The film does have it's humerous moments, but it's generally quality sarcasm and wit, which is placed in the proper areas. Not during deadly chases. I've been furious at the horror films demise, and was pleased to see "Valentine" capture some of what made the older horror films classics. Sadly, it didn't do to well at the box office, which probably means we will be seeing more of the adolecent nonsense that people seem to think is worth paying for. Hopefully this movie will become a cult favorite, and eventually spawn a new batch of serious horror movies in the same manner.

Summary: Great Scary Flick!
Review: This movie was not bad at all. It will keep you tense on whats going to happen next. It's very comparable to Friday the 13th IMO. It has alot of killing and pretty intense!! The olny bad thing that made me give it 4 out of 5 stars is because the polt kinda sucks!! But diffently recommend to add to your scary movie DVD collection. Oh yea,,, if you have an A/V amp w/ Surround Sound then you will know why its really worth buying the movie!! DTS/Dolby Digital All the way!!!!!

Summary: Stupid Cupid
Review: Why all the rave? This movie was just watchable for some reason it does hold your attention but when it is over I kept thinking to my self "self, why is it obviouse that this is just another typical slice and dice escapade, the story line is preschool however i still remain interested in the movie"? and then it dawned on me that the actors and actresses are actually talented and that is what saved this flick.

Summary: straight ahead slasher, and the better for it
Review: Imagine the "sex and the city" coterie takes a wrong turn down a dark alley. And, really, how hard is it nowadays to catch a date without being stalked afterwards? A traumatic childhood event gives rise to the stalking of our several comely heroines in later life. The director pays homage to greats like Carrie and Deep Red, but does so by staging rather than explicit verbal reference. And so this movie sidesteps the overly self-aware attitude and dialogue that plagues recent genre entries. This killer isn't laconic at all, he is mad and wants revenge. Plot holes (gashes if you will) or understated reactions to threatening events en route to more pressingly threatening events are to be forgiven. This entry stikes the right tone, connecting with early 80'slashers more than Scream/Post-Scream, which, I am suggesting, is a good thing, and, along with its engaging actors, makes this slasher more enjoyable than most recent scare-fare.
