Rating: Summary: Nothing but garbage... Review: This movie was like a bad dream that I couldn't wake up from. "House of 1000 Corpses" was nothing but shock and gratuitous gore at every turn. There was no discernable plot, no decent dialog and few characters worth remembering and the longer I watched this dog, the more upset I got. After an hour or so, I turned it off, not knowing (or even caring) if I was close to the end or not. I want my $20 back, Rob! Flush this turd and check out The Texas Chainsaw Massacre instead.
Rating: Summary: yawwwn Review: unless you're enthralled by marilyn manson videos then you'll probably not like this film. i have never been so bored. it wasn't funny. it wasn't stylish. it wasn't scary. it wasn't at all intelligent. it felt like a behind-the-scenes of a extra white trash haunted hayride (only totally un-funny). it wasn't even gross. it was so boring i think i'm going to barf. then i'm going to sell my copy of this movie.
Rating: Summary: No Halloween will be complete without this. Review: Rob Zombie is going to be next in a list of great horror film directors. Lets face it, he is creative. This film is a wonderful explosion of colors, lights, sounds and visuals. You can just see how ambitious this film is. Rob Zombie set out to make a great horror film and you can tell he poured his heart into it. He has obviously been influenced by "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" but by viewing this you can also tell that he has a deep appreciation for 1970's cheese, Aurora monster models, old issues of Creepy Magazine and obscure horror films. The film has a great pace and really good look to it. It also contains a trait that is important to horror films that has been lacking for some time, A sense of humour. You can actually be grossed out and have a great time with this instant classic. It is basically like going to a haunted house with a group of friends at Halloween time. The make-up and visuals are top notch and will satisfy any horror film fan. I look forward to seeing more from Rob Zombie in the directors chair. I really believe that he will achieve significant status. Hats off to you Rob.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST GHORRORS IN A WHILE Review: HAS REALation to all 4 texas films not to gory very disturbing a must see very creepy great special features
Rating: Summary: ZOMBIE RULZ! Review: I bought this on DVD when it was first released. Can't wait for the 2nd one!
Rating: Summary: House comes up 900 Corpses short............. Review: The movie starts out great. Captain Spaulding cracked me up. I thought to myself "Man, this is going to be great!" It quickly deteriorates into a "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" knock-off. The story is the same. A group of teenagers meets a family of weirdos. Nothing new here. Furthermore I was promised a gore feast and that wasn't delivered. Creepy lighting and shakey camera-work rob you of the illusion of bloody carnage. Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie but had much higher expectations. The best part of this DVD are the extras. I watched the whole movie again with commentary by Rob Zombie. It was very cool. I've never been a big Rob Zombie fan. I always thought he needed a shower and shave but after listening to his commentary I see things differently. I now see him as being a very intelligent person in need of a shower and shave. I'd be surprised to see another film by Rob Zombie. His commentary seems to indicate it was a real beating getting this film finished. Some of the other extras are too strange to describe. You just have to see it for yourself. "Knock, knock" "Who's there?" "Tiny" "Tiny who?" "Tiny ____ed a stump!"
Rating: Summary: Blame "Lion's Gate" Review: The company behind this film was less than willing to release a NC-17 rated film. Of course, as was the case here, Rob Zombie had nearly finished directing his movie when he was informed of this glaring technicality. It is a shame, really, because there are some truly shocking moments in this film that had me cringing and giggling with anxiety. There are not many films today that stand out in the horror genre anymore, most offerings are just copies of old plot lines. This movie has style and insanity mixed with a low-budget feel. It's just a shame Rob's vision was spliced and torn. There is so much potential here, it makes me want to scream!
Rating: Summary: House of 1000 Corpses Review: Well, let's see. Okay, I'll just say it. House of 1000 Corpses is completely awesome! It rocks sooo well! Combining classical horror with an original plot makes this film absolutely awesome! The acting is truely believable and the horror is truly relentless. This film is a must have for fans of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and those other gruesome maniac shows. This is truely a masterpiece, so I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Texas Chainsaw Massacre Meets Natural Born Killers Review: If you a true horror movie fan then you will love this movie. If you consider 13 Ghosts a horror movie you will hate it. Rob Zombie did a great job of writing and directing this masterpiece. It's like watching the Texas chainsaw Massacre and Natural Born Killers at the same time. It is a gruesome throwback to the 70's type horror flicks. Its full of blood spattering and gruesome special effects. You will love it or hate it.
Rating: Summary: The horror!! Review: I'll get right to it: I found the script clunky and awkward, the acting over-the-top, and the gore factor pretty lame, considering all the blood n' guts promised in the trailers and critics' reviews. It just seemed like Rob and company were trying too hard to be edgy, without any real concern for actually crafting the story (which had tremendous potential that might have been realized in more capable hands). And yes, I'm a "real" horror fan.
