Rating: Summary: pretty good Review: this one is the best in the series, but still isn't a great movie
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE GREAT HORROR FLICKS OF ALL TIME Review: I remember seeing this movie back in 1980 when it was just out. I was 14 and there were no special effects at that time to compare. I was totally grossed out. It was one of the best films I'd seen yet. Halloween and Prom Night were about the only comparable films that I can think of and then Nightmare On Elm Street. I recommend this movie to any one who enjoys a romp in the woods. We've all been naughty, come on!!!!!
Rating: Summary: "Friday the 13th" A Suprising Treat Review: Just about everyone I've spoken to on the issue of horror movies has told me what a terrible film "Friday the 13th" was. What a surprise then, when I actually found myself enjoying it when it came on cable one rainy night. Granted, the movie lacks logic and originality, but overall, I thought it was a fairly entertaining, suspenceful horror film, that I can honestly compare to John Carpenter's classic "Halloween."
Rating: Summary: Good slasher flick Review: This was a good horror movie. I only gave it 4 stars because of bad acting. Mrs. Vorhees is a great murderer and the best women killer (much better than Rebecca Gayheart in Urban Legends). Other reviews say it doesn't have a plot, well it does. I didn't say it had a good plot, but it was creative. I am a slasher horror fan, but I don't get scare that often. This movie wasn't scary.
Rating: Summary: Great Horror flick Review: I do not care what people say, this is a great horror flick. The scene where the chick is alone in her cabin at nite reading, and it is pouring down rain outside, when all of a sudden she hears a faint cry far off in the distance saying..."help me!!! help me!!" for some reason that scene scares the hell out of me! A must see for any true horror fan.
Rating: Summary: BEST MOIVE EVER Review: BUY THIS MOVIE 100% BETTER THAN HALLOWEEN I HAVE SEEN THIS MOVIE MANY TIMES AND I NEVER GET TIRED OF IT
Rating: Summary: Friday the 13th is a deliciously bad "camp" classic Review: I first checked this movie out over the summer, with no idea what I was getting into. A child of the Reagan era, I have always been fascinated by films that were pop- culture icons at the time. Instead of unbearable, gut-wrenching suspense, I was treated to an unintentionally silly laugh-fest. The dialogue is sophomoric, the acting inept, and the story so shamelessly stupid I found it hard not to love it. Betsy Palmer's rendering of a vengeful, schizophrenic mommy is hilarious! The film is also full of Freudian phallic symbols, and smothering parental figures, punishing their children for discovering the joys of fornication! A real treat!
Rating: Summary: Looks good, sounds good but it really stinks! Review: People are still wanting to see this dreadful chiller usually because of it's title but they do not know that it is a completely dull and boring film. I was one of those people but now I've suddenly reallised how bad it is. A bunch of teenagers with sex on their minds go camping at a place where two people got mudered in 1958 and the son of the murderer returns to chop 'em all up to bits. You can see a young Kevin Bacon and Betsy Palmer's head getting chopped off (in a grusomely memorable way) but that's about it.
Rating: Summary: Don't go into the woods. Review: When I first saw Friday The 13th I was taken by the simplicity of the script. You have a group of sex craved teenagers lining up to be slaugherted. But what makes this movie stand ahead of all the other slasher movies of the 80's is that this one had true suspense and mystery. Were jason took the helm in future movies this one played who done it from beginning to end. making everyone look like a suspect. Also Mr.Tom Savinis make up was really effective and had a few stomachs churning when i first saw it in 1980. Even though the movie lacks in plot, the chills at every corner makes the lsit of any true horror fan. Also the actors and actresses are above par on your usual slasher flick actors. They looked like they had fun with the movie and do not take themselves to serious. A young Kevin Bacon(pre nose job) plays a great obnoxiuos pot head who gets speared in one of the best effects in the movie. So grab your popcorn and date and check your brain at the door and sit back and get ready to jump and truly be scared, especially when little Jason makes his cameo at the lake.
Rating: Summary: Friday The 13th Review: I think this movie was great! I think the violence was a little too much for kids, but all well. I thunk it was a great story too.
