Summary: One, Two...Freddys Coming For You..........
Review: Who hasn't seen this movie? Wes Craven's monumental directoral achievements shine in what is no doubt his most successful film. There is no need to rehash the plot of this fine horror masterpiece, as it is so well known by now. I am writing this review only as a recomendation to those who want to add this title to their collection. Obviously, this film is the paramount of the series, the rest of which can be forgotten for the most part! This is Freddy before his charcter was turned into more of a comedian than a slasher! A frightful good time, not to be missed! Four Stars!

Summary: Not quite up there with 'Psycho'
Review: As my title suggests, this film is definitely not in the same class as 'Psycho' or 'Rosemary's Baby'. But this was one of the first films to bring a new meaning to the term 'slasher film'. In the storyline of this film, a group of teenagers are having violent nightmares about some strange looking (and extremely ugly) man who is burned beyond recognition. Nobody at first knows who he is, all they do know is that he wants to murder them. His name is Freddy, they know this because he taunts them by calling out to them and then saying 'Come to Freddy' (a legacy from his human life, perhaps?).
When the best friend of Nancy is murdered, she becomes determined to find out who this Freddy is and what he wants, and to ultimately beat him at his own game. However, finding out just who Freddy is will force her own mother into confessing a terrible sin from her own past.
Though this film is really a teen flick, it does have an original concept, and Wes Craven made it impossible for people to sleep properly after seeing it. Like all films, this was definitely a product of it's time. So, if you're looking to have a horror night at home, you can't go past this film.

Summary: "Creepy..."
Review: The very first Freddy Krueger movie, extremely creepy, but a little weird. It's Robert Englund who portrays the dream monster Freddy, so either Englund and Kane Hodder (the man behind Jason since F-13 pt. 7) are great friends, or sworn enemies. The weirdness is that when Glenn gets pulled down through his bed, more blood than any human could ever have shoots up and splatters the ceiling, weird or weird? And what the heck was Freddy doin' to Nancy's mom? I didn't know Johnny Depp was gonna be in this, I'm not sure who he played, I guess I didn't pay attention. I probably missed a lot since I slept through like 10 minutes of it, but from what I saw, it wasn't that bad. Freddy was pretty creepy, he reminded me of the Creeper (Jeepers Creepers). A Nightmare on Elm Street is one to see, so see it.

Summary: Very Creative!
Review: I watched this movie, and I was in awe. I couldn't believe how someone could come up with such a creative plot. If you love horror movies, then you can't miss this one.

Summary: Never sleep again
Review: Every child hears about certain mythical beings in their youth: Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, The Boogeyman, and Freddy Krueger. Is it any wonder that he is such a cultural icon after this movie? Craven brings to the nightmares of the teens of Elm Street, and to us, a nightmare of his own youth. This movie explores the dark hearts of "the guy next door" in such characters as Freddy, Nancy's parents, and Tina's boyfriend. Just how much evil can exist in the suburbs? This movie also shows Nancy as a head's on ... gal who faces up to Freddy most of the movie instead of running away like most heroines do for the first few movies. Entertaining, ethereal, certainly scary. This is a must-see for any serious horror fan.

Summary: Wes Craven's original masterpiece
Review: If you haven't seen A Nightmare on Elm Street, you really need to check it out. This is one movie where bad dreams come true. However, if you are someone who gets nightmares from watching scary movies then don't view this film.

Summary: Classic.
Review: This is a classic horror movie from 1984. When I first saw this movie I was 5 and it scared me to death. I would not go to sleep without a light on. This movie stars Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon and Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. The scariest scene in the movie is in the school and she goes to look for Tina and instead she finds Freddy and thats when she realizes that her dreams were real. This movie realesed in 1984 is scary without special effects. I recommend this movie. Skip the 2nd movie and go right to the third because the second Freddy was really bad.

Summary: Awsome Movie and Excellent DVD!
Review: This was, literally, a mind-ripping film! Krueger is REALLY, REALLY REALLY scary! I have all 7 NOES movies on DVD. Each DVD offers a main menu, you choose wheather you want to watch the movie in widescreen or fullscreen, theatrical trailer, and more! All those options are offered on each DVD See all the Nightmare films! They really are triffic. But I have to warn you, parts 4 and 5 aren't so great. 4 was actually pretty confusing. In my opinion, the original and New Nightmare were the best of the series.

Summary: Introducing Freddy Kreuger
Review: This was probably one of the best and inventive horror flicks of the 80's. Wes Craven intorduced us to a killer we could not escape if we tried. Freddy Kreuger was not some flesh and blood stalker, but a hellish demon that haunted your dreams.

The flim is well directed and acted. It is also very well written. For a movie in which few die, the chase sequences make up for killing scenes. These chase scenes are top rate, the staircase one in particular.

This movie also introduced us to Johnny Depp. The movie though is not Freddy's show, much like the sequels that followed. This is a showcase for Heather Lagenkamp's character Nancy. Nancy is probably the most well written horror heroines since Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode.

This movie is the best in the series, it's a shame New Line just greenlit "Freddy vs Jason" a film sure to taint this films legacy.
