Rating: Summary: a new level Review: there are many people who would say that the first movie was a masterpiece and others that would find it a piece of trash. The later should not waste their time watching this film. The followers of the first should prepare themselves for this version because it simply takes Tobe Hooper's goals for the story and elevates it to another level. This picture is well directed and has a few different takes on the story, characters, and tone, but the basic story and theme remain the same. This film just deals with the notion of how insane a person can become and how much madness and macabre can that cause. This film, realizing what fans have seen and expected from the original, elevates the madness...making the atmosphere darker, the deaths more horrible and bitter, leatherface is more sinister looking and more channeled and the family is more twisted than the original. The movie does have some good scares in it, but it is just meant to tell the story of a family that is purely engrossed in madness and the interaction that a few people had with them. This film sets out to do something that is not easy, and that is to expose, isolate, and focus on the small part of us that wonders how dark can humanity become? I left the theatre feeling disturbed from this picture. It did its job.
Rating: Summary: Texas Chainsaw Massacre Review: This movie was the best horror movie that we have ever viewed. Not only was it really scary, but it kept us tense throughout the entire movie. We strongly feel that you must view the movie before you make any judgement what so ever. If you haven't viewed the movie, we strongly suggest doing so.P.S. Bring an extra pair of underwear because you might need it.
Rating: Summary: A good movie. A good re-make Review: This was an OK movie for a re-make of one of the scariest, cult movies ever The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is not based on true facts. (...) In real life nothing happened in Texas at all, there was no chainsaw, no cannibalistic family, nothing like that. Ed Gein (thats how you spell it not Geen) lived in Kentucky I believe, the "true" parts of this movie and its original is that it involves a man who wears human skin across his face and body and opens up people, etc, etc. (...) Much better then I expected. Very gruesome, and moderatley scary, I really think the director did a good job. A very low budget horror movie (which in my opinion is always the best kind)it was able to go past all of my expectations. So go see the Texas Chainsaw Massacre to have a really good time and be prepared to be scared!

Rating: Summary: A Triumph!! Review: I saw this movie opening night, and i had very high expectations..and when the movie was over, i was not dissapointed. Infact i think this is probelly the scariest horror movie i have ever seen in my entire life. Now it takes alot to scare me, because i have seen every scary-slasher movie out there, but none of them got to me the way this movie did. It was absalutly amazing!! Michael Bay, i salute for making a true horror film..Your the man. This film in my opinion is a true triumph!!!
Rating: Summary: Not nearly as good as the original Review: I knew even before I saw this movie that it was not going to be as good as the original, I wanted to see it anyway. I will say that this was not a bad movie, but it wasnt a great one. The biggest problem i have with it is that is says it is a remake, that it is not. The premise is the same, but the story is not. This movie is like a remix of the original song, its the same song but sounds completly different. One thing I thought was good though was the way it was introduced, and the very end. Other then that, I would strongly recommend seeing the original first, it is much better and way more memorable.
Rating: Summary: Very Disappointing Review: I ended up walking out after Biel made it into the house and was thrown into the basement with her impaled, and impossibly alive, friend. I couldn't believe how they trashed the original flow and fear that made TCM so scary. It seemed like they were trying to sell it to a different crowd, almost like it had a mystery feel to it. Not that there is anything wrong with trying to make a few bucks, but i didn't like the approach at all. Go rent or buy the original and see what makes it so much better than the remake.
Rating: Summary: I Have Never Been So Scared In My Life!!!!!!!!! Review: Here it is, folks, the only horro thriller that TRULY scared me! This is, without a doubt, the best (and scariest) horror movie I have ever seen. So, there I was with my dad (and a whole theaterfull of other Leather-Face fans, waiting for the film to stop rolling those blasted previews and GET TO THE POINT!!!! When the real movie started, I was trembling with fear through almost the whole movie! I laughed a few times, too (the physchotic sherriff was a load of laughs!). This movie also has a powerful beginning and ending. See this movie, PLEASE!!! It's 1000 times scarier that the original TCM and all its sequels combined! IT WOULD BE A CRIME TO MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS ALSO EVERY BIT AS GOOD AS SILENCE OF THE LAMBS!!!!!! SEE THIS SCARY WORK OF ART, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
