Summary: better than the original
Review: When you here the review of this movie they just tell you this was about a couple of teenagers who went on a road trip and got slaughtered by a maniac. Think of it, it does sound a little corny. This was not corny. You might consider this the scariest movie you ever saw. This isn't just scary it's extremely terrifying and extremely dark. You won't want to be alone ever again. When I saw the original I thaught it was great but it wasn't that dark. It wasn't really dark because the only music in the original was the chainsaw, but in the remake the music was extremely creepy.I'm sure the dvd will have great special features. One more thing don't forget Jessica Biel, originaly star of seventh heaven, played the main role in the movie, and also one of the hottest stars of today. Finaly when the texas chainsaw massacre comes out on dvd I urge you to rent it.
i'm a weirdo and a nerd so don't listen to me sometimes

Summary: The Worst Remake Yet!!!!!
Review: People should be ashamed! I read some reviews off this website and I began getting sick at my stomach. I know five to ten of the reviewers said "I haven't seen the first, and don't want to! This movie was awsome"! Okay someone smack the ever-loving-crap out of these teenagers and make them watch the original! Such an amazing film was the original! It's why horror films took off really. Gory and psychologically overwhelming. To everyone who gives me an unhelpful vote, it proves to me how many spoiled teens out there who actually need a lesson in horror. Also, I heard about the remake of Dawn of the Dead! That's almost as rediculous as this piece of crap! Don't remake classics. It's almost like saying "well, were going to remake 'The Godfather' and see if we can't make some more cash!" COME ON! Someone please stop Hollywood before all our favorite classics are dumped on! Oh, and for all you teens who liked this piece of crap I only got one thing to say: YOU CAN'T CALL YOURSELF A HORROR FAN UNTIL YOU'VE SEEN ALL CLASSIC HORROR MOVIES! Nuff said.

Summary: Better than the original
Review: There is only one thing to say about the different versions of this movie....this remake blows the others away. The original is a laugh compared to this thrilling and terrifying new version. Definetely worth the money. Too bad I have to wait until March 30th.

Summary: Blasphemy
Review: Lets face it. Modern American Filmmakers SUCK! I have nothing but contempt for money hungry, talentless movie makers who insist on remaking timeless classics. Do yourself a favor and see the original if you haven't already. It's far and above the more superior version of the two. This remake was almost as ridiculous as the Godzilla joke a while ago. Next up, Dawn of the Dead!!! That's like remaking citizen kane! It's sad to see how many people fall for hollywood's money making schemes like this film. It only goes to show the pathetic state of movie audiences in America. Well, they do know their audiences! Watch them remake The Exorcist or Rosemary's Baby. I wouldn't put it past them!

Summary: Scared the Crap out of me
Review: I am a guy that usually doesn't get scared in movies. But I'll tell you, when a group of friends asked me if I wanted to go with and see it,I was just going to see jesica Beal. Little did I know what I was in for. It scared the $hit out of me. When you try and brace for it and your ready for a scary part, it doesn't come. Somehow it came every part came when you didn't expect it. I would try to brace myself for it when the music turned, but that wasn't it.
See the movie, you won't regret it.

Summary: Top Notch!
Review: Ive seen this movie 2 times in the theatre and both time i was terrified from start to finish!! I have never seen the first one, and now I dont want to cuz I dont think it could live up to this remake!!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: cold, cruel, n' completely disturbing
Review: One of the best movies I've seen in a while. TCM remake was actually fun even though with some very brutal and disturbing scenes. Especially with the finger nails. That was just disgusting and should have been cut. I havent seen the original nor do I really plan on it. The remake is more than enough for me and I dont need to drag in the original to make myself hurl (even more). The gore and blood kinda ruined the the "imagination" thingy that most of us like.

The acting was better than you'd expect and a few scenes where you might actually jump. The movie in it's entire self is scary. The story with it's atmosphere and tension makes it true to the title.

Overall it's fun for it's well put together piece of horror that very unsettling.
