Rating: Summary: Just Let It Go. Review: I mean REALLY. These days, there aren't a whole lot of movies that impress me. I loved this one. I have pondered many things concerning the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and now I have an answer. The people who voice their opinions on this movie can probably be classified into two groups: Those who love it and those who hate it. Since there aren't a whole lot of people who tout the "meh, it was okay" view, I think we can safely assume that bad or good, this movie is definately a benchmark in movie history. Just like everyone else in the world, my opinion is not without bias, but I'm confident that the assertion I'm about to make is solid and reasonable: This movie is unbelievable. It's almost an insult to call this a "remake" of the original TCM, because it is incredibly innovative. It's a different story, different cast, and a different kind of drive than that of the first. It's more raw, more terrifying, and it never lets up throughout the entire film. First things first: Jessica Biel. I don't care what other projects she's participated in before. She did an amazing job in this film. Let me take that a step further and say that EVERYone in this movie put forth a wonderful effort. The acting is natural and realistic; these actors make you believe that this really did and could happen. From what I know, there was a deep concern that the movie would be nothing more than a showcase of Jessica's clevage. But this is not the case. Although she is definitely an attractive woman, I'm afraid your mind won't be able to concentrate on the curves. She plays a character who quickly figures out exactly how much trouble she and her friends are in, and she forces herself and her companions to face this horror and survive. Jessica Biel's character is the "silent leader" in this movie, and her performance is astounding. Then there's LeatherFace. Let the record show that I have been an original TCM fan for quite some time. It was an amazing, innovative movie, and it was a blast to watch over and over again. But let's not kid ourselves. Leatherface, while tall and creepy (especially with the mask of skin), had a sort of dumb air around him. He made funny sounds and was clumsy to the point that he was actually humorous. This LeatherFace is nowhere to be found in the new movie. In his place is a ruthless, cunning, and INCREDIBLY fast LeatherFace. One of the things about the first TCM that slightly dulled the fear element is that LeatherFace never really ran. He jogged. This new LeatherFace SPRINTS. These poor kids run from him screaming at the top of their lungs because they know that he IS going to catch them. They scream and cry because there truly is no hope for them. I remember screaming in that movie because a particular foot chase scene would lead you to believe that a victim was starting to slightly get ahead of LeatherFace... And then cut back behind the poor fellow to reveal the gruesome truth, that he was delivering the fatal stroke. Conclusion: Please don't listen to the whining nastolgics who have made themselves believe that if a movie is made in modern times that it can't possibly be worth seeing. Please don't listen to people who have constructed entire websites for the sole purpose of thrashing this remake and idolizing the original. And PLEASE... Don't listen to the people who gave this movie one star-not because they saw it and hated it, but because they made themselves hate it from the moment it was conceived. By the way, most people who hate this movie are die-hard worshippers of the infamous "Dawn Of The Living Dead." (Snickers)
Rating: Summary: Watch it before you judge it Review: OK, I'm 19 and went to see this last halloween, It was so scary. Very well done and so much better than the original. Don't get me wrong as i thought the original was good but very overrated. The thing with the remake is it is scary where as the original now put into a cinema wouldn't have the same affect as the remake. Very gory, keeps you glued to the screen watching. I am a huge fan of Horror films and this has to be my top movie. Much better than the poor horrors like Freddy Vs Jason (how cheesey was that film). I would recommend you see the film and watch the original, I'd watch the remake first so as you can laugh at the original version of the film. Trust me you'll jump at least once.
Rating: Summary: It's About Time Review: This movie ROCKED! as for the other Massacres this one is the best. Definately better than the campy, boring, supposed to be scary original. A must have for any avid horror fan.
Rating: Summary: crawled out from below a rock Review: This is a very sick film. If you enjoy a relentless assault of images upon images of disgusting, dark, dreary, horrible things happening to poor ... teenagers, this is the film for you. The film very cheaply trys to play with your head, making it seem like events are scary, when really they are just gruesome and horrific. As for the promise on the film's poster that its "based on a true story," its a sick lie. That bit of "information" is almost as disgusting as the film itself. I wonder if the writers of this piece of trash ever investigated about ed gein. if they did, they are being hideously exploitive by depicting things he never did. if they didnt, well lets say i wouldnt be surprised. the one positive thing i have to say about this is that after i sat there watching it i had a sudden, emotionally charged desire to go outside, breathe some fresh air and frolic around a bit, to escape the grimy, disgusting vortex that is the new texas chainsaw massacre.
Rating: Summary: Scary As Hell Review: This is one of the few horror movies that doesnt rely on the blood and guts factor (even though it is present through the film). It really stuck to the characters and you begin to feel that actually know each one of them personally...that is before they are chopped up into 5 or 6 pieces. But really, this is a great horror movie along the lines of Scream...the suspense is awsome...just as long as you people know that IT IS NOT A TRUE STORY. It is loosley based on a serial Killer from Wisconsin named Ed Gein, who inspired such movies as the original Texas Chainsaw and Silence of The Lambs. All in all...this was a great movie, and if you haven't seen it yet...GET A LIFE.

Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: This movie was brilliant. I am a big fan of horror movies and seeing Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre i wasen't I didn't think it was as good as the re-make. Some parts of the original can be very boring and i think Leatherface should not scream as much. Also, leatherface acts like he's a big dumb idiot in the orignal. I think the plot is a lot better for the remake and it is a lot more scary. I know the orignal was made in 1974 but its just boring to me. For example, the parts where Pam falls into the bones, they show the bones forever. And the car scene is very long in the orginal in the beginning. So basically, the Re-make is a lot more exciting and the actor who played leatherface is a lot better than gunner hansen. I can't wait until the Re-make comes out to DVD.
Rating: Summary: A Great Remake Compared to "Psycho" Review: I've seen every single "TCM" movie and I own every single one except this one but I saw this in the theatre and this was awesome. Now unlike "Psycho" the film isn't the same as the original with only little resemblance. The characters Erin,Kemper, Morgan,Aaron, and Pepper are driving through Texas with a pinata full of weed and they pick up a shell shocked hitchiker instead of a freaky guy with knife. She warns them not to go any farther before pulling a gun out and shooting herself point blank in the head. They freak out and pull into a gas station where they meet an old woman who tells them the Sheriff played rather hilariously by R.Lee Ermey will meet them at an old mill. Now the story begins its resemblance with Erin and Kemper going to an old house where they meet an old legless man who allows Erin to use the phone and that is where we see the first glimpse of Leatherface.I can see where a lot of people didn't like this film but in my oppinion it was a good movie and was truly deeply haunting. The film has some of the goriest scenes in recent movie history and Leatherface hasn't looked that cool since Gunnar Hansen portrayed him in the original. If you are a horror fan you need to buy this movie plain and simple, get it. Rating: Summary: THIS MOVIE KICKS ... Review: This movie blew me out of my seat! This movie is hot, new, fresh. The only reason it gets bad reviews from some people is either because it was made soooo well that it seemed too real and that scared them or because they are attached to the old one (I don't blame them). I however think it was totaly kool cause it seemed soo real (although the story isnt). The movie stars off with a really nice begining (beautiful Texas, friends, all having a good time). Then it starts getting darker and darker till it's soooo dark you can hardly see. If i could give it ten stars I would cause it scared the heck out of me! I recommend it to any one who can handle and enjoy a good scary film.(usully I don't write reviews but this film was outstanding)But don't take my or anyone else's word for it see it yourself. TWO THUMBS WAY UP!!!
Rating: Summary: Sick, disgusting and grusome. I hated it! Review: This is not my kind of film in any sense of the word. But, hey -- I like to explore new things. I was one of the few adults in the theater. Everyone else seemed to be 16 years old or less. They screamed throughout. And so did I. That's because this was a scary movie. Very scary. It was also sick, disgusting and gruesome. It's about a group of young people who get lost, have awful things happen to them, and then get murdered one by one. The people in the town were all weird with agendas of their own which was never made clear. As far as the acting goes, I guess it was all right. I just didn't really notice. Technical effects made the horror more real than real and there is lots of blood as arms and legs get chopped off and people get hung up on meat hooks. My feeling throughout was one of nausea. I even thought about getting up and walking out. What plot there was was confused and not worth even trying to follow. And by the end of the film, I had completely lost any appetite for dinner. Clearly, this is one of the worst films I've ever seen. Stay away. Stay away. Stay away.
