Summary: the REmake of what movie?
Review: OK THIS IS THE STUPIDEST REMAKE I HAVE EVER SEEN.
WHERE IS THE COOK,FRANK,CRAZY BROTHER/HITCH HIKER,OR EVER THE PLOT.. THE LEFT SO MUCH OUT OF THE REFAKE,IT IS LIKE WATCHING A FAILED SEQUEL.THE MOVIE DOESNT EVEN SHOW AND "MEAT" EATING WITCH IS THE POINT OF THE KIDS GETTING KILLED.AND THE GRAVE ROBBINGS WHERE ARE THEY AT? THE ENDING TO THIS ONE SUCKED ALSO!
IF YOU WATCH PART 2 AFTER YOU WATCH THE REMAKE IT MAKES NO CENS,BUT IF YOU WATCH PART 2 WITH THE REAL TCM,THEN IT MAKES CENS...IN THIS ONE THEY ADDED SOME NEW/DUMB IDEAS TOO LIKE,HAVING THE TEENS TO BE POT HEADS,A HITCH HIKER SUICIDE,
A LITTLE KID (A.K.A. A LITTLE BROTHER) A "CRAZY COP",KIDNAPPING WOMEN,AND THE MADE LETHERFACE REALLY SMART IN THIS ONE,NO TALK ABOUT CANNIBALISM AT ALL AND THIS REFAKE SUCKS!

Summary: The unessesary studio remake massacre.
Review: Yawn. First off the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE was pretty good even by today's standards. TOBE HOOPER did a great job of creating a low budget scare-fest that is not only creepy but also darkly humerous. The sequels/remakes that followed were completely unessesary, and pretty crappy, too. The 2003 version is no different. Gone are the sickest and funniest aspects of the original. The script is the first of many handicaps that keep this film bedridden as a solitary horror film, relying on the asumption that the viewer has already seen the original and some plot points are just unexplained. The cannibal aspect is absent making the motivation for the family pure cruelty, one can only guess. The infamous dinner scene is non-existant, as is most of the sickly humerous angles of HOOPER's film. Most of the focus is on LEATHERFACE, whom has a bad skin disease and was teased as a kid, therefore it is understandable why the whole clan would lure young people to their farmhouse for him to butcher, saving their faces as masks. The wary travellers who become blade fodder are about as complex as a straight line. Without saying a word during running time the character of LEATHERFACE is ten times developed over the twenty-somethings on their way to a LYNARD SKYNARD concert who like to walk around spooky, run-down dwellings saying "hello" loud enough to wake even the heaviest sleeping maniac. They're idiots and we can't help but want them gruesomely slaughtered. The whole film's production design is SE7ENesque, and the prologue and epilogue are blatant BLAIR WITCH rip-offs. All and all this flick lacks any originallity and/or creativity. Other reviews might lead you to believe this film IS different from every other cookie-cutter 'horror' film out these days (e.g.- WRONG TURN, DARKNESS FALLS, FREDDY VS. JASON, etc.), however it is not. Not scary, not different, not thrilling, this film is NOT the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, the one released in 1974 is.

Summary: Return of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Review: Chainsaw fans should bow down and praise this film for being a worthy addition to the series unlike the horrid sequels. Yes, it's more of a modern day slasher but it's a hell of a lot better then most of the garbage that comes out today. The film looks great and feels creepy but the one thing that makes this movie great is none other then LEATHERFACE! He kicks ass! Best Leatherface yet! This movie is distrubing and sickening and that's why I love it!

Summary: 5 Stars for the Movie..but also 5 for the Package & Features
Review: This is my second favorite horror remake right behind "Dawn of the Dead." I have already reviewed the film once, so now I will talk about the features on the Platinum Series Special Edition. First off you get three commentary tracks, which I don't care for, but lots of people seem to like to listen to this sort of thing. Then you get an awesome 75 minute making of feature that talks about the old TCM and the new one. Then you get a 25 minute documentary feature on the real life sick pycho Ed Gein who influenced the making of the original TCM and many other horror films. This documentary contains real footage and some disturbing photographs and it's quite hard to fathom what Gein actually did to people's bodies. Very morbid feature, yet somehow very interesting. Then you get about 8 deleted scenes. The only one that stands out is Alternate Death of Morgan. In the film Leatherface hooks him up to the ceiling and you hear his chainsaw, but it never shows what he does and Morgan dies almost instantly. But in this deleted scene, lets just say the scene left a much bigger impression in my mind and the film could have benefited from more chainsaw gore since you don't really see the Pepper girl killed either. You also get your promotional stuff: Trailer, Photo Galleries, and DVD-Rom Feature. Make sure you buy this Special Edition version, because for only around $10.00 more you get loads of stuff. Also included in the set is a cool metal display cover featuring Leatherface and 8 Crime Scene Photos. Not to mention the dvd display folds out with a chainsaw background. This Disc is worth every penny to all horror fans out there.

Summary: Wny God Why?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Review: First off, I have to say that I am no horror purist. I like a good horror movie as much as the next guy, but I do not discriminate between genre. I just like movies.

But I hated, hated, hated this movie. I am a big fan of the origanel since I first saw it when I was thirteen, and was a little skeptical about this remake, but a killer trailor and the recent "Dawn of the Dead" remake, which isn't as good as the origanel but was still a good movie, convinced me that maybe I should check this out. And boy am I sorry I did.

This movie is nasty, ugly and boring. It loses all of the charm of the origanel. Any humor or humanity that was evident in the 1974 classic is gone here, replaced with MTV style visuals and piss poor acting. Though the box claims that this disaster is only ninty some odd minutes, it feels as if its three hours or carnage with no reason, and though that is kinda the whole reason for the "Evil Dead" series, at least they had a sense of humor, a sense of style and Bruce Campbell.

There wasn't a single thing that was good about this movie. They take out the family pretty much as a whole, including grandpa who was the origanels funniest part. This I could've partially forgiven, but they make two fatal errors. These are:
1. Do not, ever, under any circumstances, take off Leatherface's mask. EVER
2. I don't want any sembelance of Leatherface's back story. I had my own ideas, and I would like to keep those thank you.

This "movie" doesn't even offer up any explantation as to why Leatherface is killing these people. Not that I particuallarly cared, because I was hoping every charactor would die quickly, but still. It makes this movie feels like just a bunch of random chaos. It didn't work for Rob Zombie's "House of 1000 Corpses", but at least he had a sense of style. This movie doesn't even have that.

Maybe the hitchhiker in the beginning had the best idea: she got out of this debacle quickly.

The only reason that this movie exists is because the devil himself Michael Bay wanted to make a few bucks off of a bunch of naive teenagers. Don't be one of those. Buy the origanel instead.

Summary: A great new look for the classic
Review: I definitely enjoyed this movie as much as the original. It defitely had a faster pace and did do a good job remaking the original, but sill adding enough differences to keep the movie interesting. I actually like the ending on this one a little better than the first.

Summary: Great Remake
Review: The original 70's Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a pioneer of its genre. Although many horror films have been made none of the films in my opinion can compare to this film. Every moment of the movie is very eerie and definetly creepy. The movie also has this documentary style filming which makes you think that this event actually did occur. The most intense scene of the original movie is when the family is seated for dinner and they are trying to feed grandpa.(for those who havent seen the original check it out please you dont know what your missing). Now with the newest remake, Micheal Bay and Marcus Nispel did a fantastic job. The movie brought back many of the same chills I had from the original and this newer remake focuses mostly on Leather face. I feel that remakes should be different from originals because if you just redo someone elses ideas, isnt that considered plagurizing? Just something for you all to consider. I think that the casting was excellent even with 7th Heaven star Jessica Biel. I personally think that she did a marvelous job. The other cast members were also good, I cannot remember their names off the top of my head but they all make the viewer feel the exact horror these teenagers are facing. If you buy the DVD you will know what I mean. I think the best character in this one is the sheriff, played by the boot camp officer in the movie Full Metal Jacket (Sorry I dont remember his name either), because he is so evil that you cant help but feel sad for the kids he is messing with. In the remake of TCM, there is a lot more gore than in the original, which some people obviously do not like, but when there is a movie with the words "chainsaw" and "massacre" you should expect it to be gorey. Sorry to all those who hate this movie but I personally think that it is the best horror movie of ITS time, just like the original was the best of ITS time. Please those of you who like horror films, check this one out.

Summary: For All You Remake Haters
Review: Alright look, obviously most of the people who hate this movie are fans of the original. I agree the original was much better, but come on how can you say that this movie was not well done. I think that the casting, directing, and producing was really great. I like the fact that Michael Bay took out some of the things from the original, because it brings the focus on the best character, LEATHERFACE! In the original leather face was whinny and in the new one he is a straight up savage. He does not waste his time with a dumb little chainsaw dance at the end, come on that is a cheesy idea. The only thing that I really did not like about this movie is that the producer and director tried to stay away from the cannibal idea. I think that that idea adds extra intensity and makes the movie more scary. Trust me folks if you want a gory in your face type of movie then check it out, otherwise go rent that corny flick Freddy Vs. Jason. Peace!
