Rating: Summary: Make a Rght Turn and see "Wrong Turn" Review: I truly enjoyed this movie! In fact, it's the first "scary" movie I've seen in quite a while that had any tension at all. I rate horror movies on a "jump" scale--and this one had me jumping quite often. I won't give away any plot details, but the tree descension scene was something else. And the guy at the gas station/country market was one of the most gross people ever introduced in a movie. The gore in this movie is not over the top, in my opinion. I've noticed other "named" critics who have just skewered this movie. It has been compared to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. I would like to say that I view movies to be ENTERTAINED--that's all. I don't go looking for some deep, hidden message. If that's what you like, then I'd say this is your type of movie also.
Rating: Summary: WRONG TURN IS A "DEAD END" Review: With all the hype and the cool website the film had to offer, I wandered into my neighborhood cinema expecting a little something different. What I got for my $8.00 was truly miserable. In short, don't waste your time or money on this film. Wrong Turn fails to deliver. Their exists no character development, no motive for the "inbreds" to track and kill their prey and the dialogue is pretty sloppy. I have seen very small indies much better than this....the best part of this "DEAD END" was the trailers before it.... TRUST ME: YOU WILL BE VERY DISSAPOINTED. Save your money and stay at home, "Wrong Turn" is the wrong movie.
Rating: Summary: EXCEPTIONAL HORROR FILM Review: If you combine 70s classics like TOURIST TRAP, THE HILLS HAVE EYES and TEXAS CHAINSAW with the relentless suspense and horror of the recent thriller JOYRIDE, you end up with WRONG TURN. This is what JEEPERS CREEPERS wanted to be!
Rating: Summary: THE GREATEST HORROR MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!! Review: WRONG TURN HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST HORROR MOVIE THAT HAS BEEN RELEASED IN THE PAST 20 YEARS. I AM A HORROR MOVIE BUFF AND HAVE SEEN A NUMBER OF HORROR MOVIES AND I MUST SAY THAT THIS IS THE BEST HORROR FILM THAT I HAVE SEEN IN THE THEATRE IN MY LIFETIME. I AM 25 YEARS OLD AND THE MOST RECENT HORROR FILMS THAT I HAVE SEEN HAVE ALL BEEN NOTHING MORE THAN A SPECIAL EFFECTS EXTRAVAGANZA. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THIS: THEY JUST AREN'T SCARY. SOME THINGS ARE BETTER LEFT TO THE IMAGINATION. THE CAST FEATURED SEXY WOMEN, VIOLENCE, SUSPENSE AND BLOOD. I HAVE SEEN THIS FILM TWICE IN THE THEATRE HERE AND I ENJOYED IT BOTH TIMES. IF YOU ENJOY A 70S SYLE HORROR FILM, THEN SEE THIS MOVIE!! IT HAS A GOOD STORY, A GOOD CAST AND A LIMITED USE OF COMPUTER-GENERATED SPECIAL EFFECTS. THE PRODUCTION STAFF BEHIND THIS MOVIE HAD IT ALL TOGETHER AND IT WAS NICE TO SEE A "GOOD" HORROR MOVIE FOR A CHANGE!!! PLOT SUMMARY: A GROUP OF PEOPLE ARE STRANDED IN A FAIRLY DESERTED TOWN AFTER TWO CAR ACCIDENTS TAKE PLACE. THE SURVIVORS OF THE INCIDENTS SOON DISCOVER THAT THEY ARE ON A FIGHT FOR THEIR LIVES. THE AREA WHERE THEY ARE STRANDED IS THE HOME OF 4 INBREAD GOONS(PEOPLE).(THE MAKEUP EFFECTS ARE IMPRESSIVE.) THE GROUP SOON HAS TO TRY TO FIND AN ESCAPE OR DIE!! THE TOWER SCENE IN THE WOODS IS VERY COOL AND THE FINALE IS QUITE A NAIL-BITER!! SEE THIS FILM AT ALL COSTS!!
Rating: Summary: Good Old fashioned slasher Horror! Review: If you loved 70's & 80's horror flicks like Friday the 13th & Halloween, if you don't need some cumbersome plotline explaining the motives of the killers, if you are tired of teeny-bopper TV stars doing horror films, then Wrong Turn is a movie for you. The plot.....simple six people take a wrong turn in the West Virginia mountains and are hunted down by three deformed mountain men who plan on killing and eating them. The movie is well acted, the special effects are great (Stan Winston), and the movie's pace is very fast and tense. Good old school horror.
Rating: Summary: Fun Horror at Its Best Review: Want some good horror fun? Check out Wrong Turn. From Rob Schmidt, this little bloodstained gem in the bushel was a nice surprise when I saw it in theaters. There's not some major plot to carry the movie along. It's simple. A group of stranded hikers and a lone businessman run and fight for their lives in the West Virginian woods as they are pursued by inbred cannibals. There's also not major smarts to the movie. The characters do the horror-cliched things such as separating, and there's the consistent comeback of the menaces. But the thing is, it's all done so swell-like that you do not groan at something you have seen 100 times before. Then there's the suspense. It's high in Wrong Turn. From the first couple of minutes until right time the credits roll, the air is full of tension. The treetop scene, that was awesome. A major highlight of the film. Eliza Dushku and Desmond Harrington our main stars, and they carried the movie with ease. Dushku is a great presence and it was good to not see her usual bad girl characterization. The rest of the cast fleshed out good enough, but it was easy to guess the killing order. Although one death with an arrow was unsuspected. And major props goes to Stan Winston for his creature designs for the cannibals. Those were some creepy looking crazies. Wrong Turn was just one of those fun theater experience, and on DVD, the experience will be the same. To watch a fun horror movie with enough suspense and gore to happify any horror fan.
Rating: Summary: The woods are scary, dark, and deep... Review: The forest primeval, peopled with ogres--a timeless tale updated with half-bared bosom 'n' belly babes (no maidens in distress they) and a stick-shifting hero who takes to the ax like any woodsman of yore! This suspense flick has brains--and not just the ones smashed on the floorboards. Refreshingly bereft of the buffoonery that has become de rigueur in recent creepers, this is a heart-thumping horrorfest delivered with deliberate and deadly seriousness. The cinematography is particularly striking, drawing the audience into a dark woodland made both magnificent and menacing. The pacing is prompt and neat, and screen time is not wasted on needless characterization and chatter. The terror comes quickly, and only the credits' roll allows an easy breath!
Rating: Summary: Ah, the Great Outdoors.... Review: Ah, the great outdoors...fresh air, beautiful scenery...inbreed cannibals. I just returned from seeing this film at the local theater. Wrong Turn was exactly what I expected it to be, a high adrenaline mixture to put you in mind of the classic films The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Deliverance. There are reletively no slow points to this film, and the action is tense and suspenseful with plenty of blood and gore for the hardcore horror fan. To top it all off, Eliza Dushku...wow, shes on fire! Definitely a must see for any fan of horror or suspense.
Rating: Summary: Wrong movie Review: At first I thought that this was gonna be a really cool scary movie but it really took a wrong turn. First the actress called Danielle was very very a bad actress.I just wanted to go in to the movie to kill her.Eliza Dushku didn t show her good acting in this movie.Secondly the killers weren t scary but funny. They looked like the hobbits from Lord of The Rings.I you wanna see a movie like this, just rent Jeepers Creepers insted.
Rating: Summary: DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!! Review: i just saw this movie yesterday and im going back today to see it again. I am a product of the early 80's horror, and have loved them since childhood.i have never taken the time to write a review, mostly because there has not been a movie worthy of my time."BUT," this one is different, it is an awesome movie.the story is very believable if you have ever been to the mountains of west virginia.i dont want to tell any part of the movie. but if you are a real horror fan, this movie will take you back to the old school. when horror was scary. eliza dushku does an excellent job in this movie,as well as her co-stars. she could very easily fill the shoes as the next jamie lee curtis. when jamie was at the top of her game in the 70's & 80's. this movie just blew my mind!! it starts and never stops.from beginning to end you will love this one. oh yeah, it has that old school gore that we true fans are lacking today. spend $... on seeing this movie, and you'll thank me later.
