Rating: Summary: horrible remake Review: I loved the first TCSM, I thought it was great, and when I heard that a remake was in the works I thought yo my self, oh no. I saw it anyway, and wow, it sucked. It isnt even a remake, so many things were changed in the movie compared to the original I dont know where to begin. For anyone who was a fan of the original dont see the remake, its horrible, and to anyone who hasnt seen the original, rent it or buy it, its worth your money much more then this crap.
Rating: Summary: Leatherface's return Review: This version of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is not original in the least bit. It is, however, scary in it's own way. The first one has streight forward, grainy, a very documentry feel to it. This one is much slicker (hey, it was produced by Michael Bay, after all), with a lot of effective boo scares (if it was in 3-D, I would have had a heart attack!), and a whole lot more gore. The story is also different, a little. While remaining close to the spirit of the origanal, it is it's own movie. Jessica Biel makes a lot more interesting and smarter hero. R. Lee Emery is here as your stock red neck police officer, and he's pretty creepy funny kind of menace. While it relies on the reputation of the classic, it stakes it's own claim by being a pumped up meaner steriod thriller. Not for the faint of heart or stomach.
Rating: Summary: where do i complain Review: Utterly gobsmacked, onced finished I couldnt speak all I could ask was where can I complain, we drove home very silent in the car looking for something to jump out from the side of the road chop our legs off and rub salt in our wounds, It is one on the best scary movies ever!!!!!! utterly sickening.
Rating: Summary: Very Cooooool Review: I liked this movie alot. It looked cool from the previews, alone. Some horror movies, need to be redone. After seeing the original, especially this one. I never saw the origianl before. It didn't interest me. It looked boring. After seeing the remake, I wanted to see the original. Just to compare and contrast. See which one I liked better. Hands down, the remake. I tried to get scared by the original movie. I shut off all the lights and watched it late at night, dead silent in the house. Nothing, absolutely nothing. It was so boring. I just about fell asleep. I was waiting and waiting for the movie to even get started. Before I knew it, it was over. I was like "Wait a minute!" It was just sad. And when I think of all the trouble I went threw to find this movie, it was not worth it. Let's see, for one thing, the hitchhickers in both movies. A man and a girl. In the remake, she was a creepy character. She was a great start to getting things going. I would go into more detail, but I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it. Let's just say, "WOW!" And leave it at that. The guy, on the other hand in the original, was stupid. He did nothing for the story. He was just wacked out on drugs or somthing. I never did figure it out on what he was suppose to do. It looks like they pulled him off the street and put him in the movie and said, act. Anyway one of my favorite scenes in the remake was with the girl hitchhicker. Very good movie. Don't bother with the origianl. I gave it a 4.5 because, it needed a little more blood and carnage. Other than that, killer movie!
Rating: Summary: Scary as Hell Review: This movie scared me so much, taht I never wanna go to Texas. EVER. It the heck out of my friends and my gf, who both loved the film. If you have a weak stomache this film is NOT FOR YOU. Th e moments of intense violence and gore are simply frightning and enjoyable to horrorfilm fans liek myself. O, and all you people who dont think it's based on a true story, LEAVE US WHO DO ALONE. I belive fully taht it was real, and it make sthe move 10 rimes better from that perspective. When this movie opened, they ahd a premire in Texas. if you went, you got to tour the house afterwards. i have a friend who went, and said the house scared the crap out of him. I dont think I would have been able to go in......would you??
Rating: Summary: Actually worth 4.5 Review: I absolutely LOVED this movie. I didn't think I would, (alot of scary movies these days aren't worth the gas it takes to get to the theater), but I was very happy with my decision to see it. It definitely leaves you with a happy feeling when the credits came up, but the actual feeling you get (pure terror) is appropriate. The movie kept me glued to my seat the entire time and I was afraid to move or even look away from the screen. I encourage everyone to give it a chance.
Rating: Summary: TO HELL WITH THE ORIGINAL Review: Well where to start??? I saw the original Texas three times the first time I saw it I was bored beyond belief and turned it off and the ten minute mark. A few years later I rented it again after being blasted by many for not have seen it and after watching it my feelings were confused so I waited a few more years and when I heard that they were making the remake I thought it best to brush up on the original. I should not have bothered, throughout the whole movie I did not care about a one of them I wanted them all to die especially Franklin (wheelchair guy) and after a while I wanted our so called heroine to get the chop as well. To be honest I hated the film, I truely did. I found nothing scary in it at all and found it to be a big joke that I couldn't even take seriously. Some of the dumbest moments that stick in my mind are when the heroine is looking through the house and finds her girlfriends corpse which spring to life convulting???? Then the "legendary" dance at the end of the film performed by leatherface. Yeah that was fun! (insert sarcasism here) So disregarding Hooper's flm I ventured out to see this version of Texas and OH MY GOD! The surprise that I got was not only how good this film was but actually that I found myself caring for the characters. By no means is this a perfect film (what is perfect nowadays with horror especially being so over done?) but it's pretty damn close. Although I wouldn't classify as a scary movie, although there are some scenes that do give the old ticker a jump start, I would have to say that what makes this film work is that it more focused on providing tension and giving us a movie that is so very disturbing and cringe worthy. It makes you really think about the kinds of people out there, and believe me you will never look at a passerby the same way. The performances for the most part are spot on expecially by Jessica Biel who in my oppinion steals the crown for the previous scream queen hack. Her acting was amazing making the film even more captivating as we watch her go fromporr helpless victim to a courageous young woman willing to do anything to survive. There are those out there who say the original is far superior, why because it came first? There's nothing done inn the old grainy, boring film that was notched up tightly in this movie. This movie is great, however if you want to see something that will make you laugh by all means watch the original and it sequels, but if you want something that will stay with ou for a long time forget all the other Texas films and watch a movie that was done properly.
Rating: Summary: BEST MOVIE EVERRRRRRRR!!! Review: The texas chainsaw massacre remake is what I think the best movie ever. It has got everything a movie needs. Horror, chills, suspence, gore, and a lot of violence. It is even better then the original. It totally deserves 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: It scarcest to find extraordinary good and terrifying movie Review: It scarcest to find a extraordinary good and terrifying movie but The texas chainsaw massacare is one of those rarely movies it not terror movie its SCARY movie...
Rating: Summary: Pretty young things being cut up. Review: I'd give this zero stars if that were possible - or maybe one star for the trailer. Where's the innovation? Another bad horror film that relies merely on shock value. The genre is not progressing at all. Dreadful.
