Summary: Forget Gigli!
Review: This should have taken the razzi. It's got no plot and its boring. There are many scenes that are unneccesary.
Such as the scene where the girl shoots herself. She had the gun before, so she could have done it before getting in the van. Also, If she wanted to kill herself she should have just stayed with Leatherface. The acting is tres horrible too. so unbelivable. Especially when you see the rest of Leatherface's Family and the cop scene at the beggining. There is no shock value to this movie. It isn't the slightest bit disterbing. It's just a collection of murders and cruelty.
SEE THE 1ST TCM. IT's 1000000 TIMES BETTER.
I love scary movies. so here are some recommendations:
TCM(1974), Tenebre, Videodrome, Suspiria, Bad Taste, Dead ringers, Actually any Cronenberg or Argento film will do.

Summary: Blasphemous 'remake'...
Review: I can't believe anyone whom liked the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre would give this movie a good review... I have to believe that you're a bunch of kids that like the original because it's a classic, but have no comprehension of why the original was great.
This movie could have easily been enlisted as the fourth sequel in the TCM series... that's how off base it is from the original, Jessica Biel is decent as the star victim, but she certainly couldn't hope to carry this mess of a movie on her own, thank god I rented this and didn't buy it. it's horrendous, completely dismissable as hollywood executives trying to make a quick buck on the original title because they knew a sequel wouldn't attract such attention... The fact that EVERYONE in the town is in on it, completely cheapens leatherface, almost making him a non entity. Anyone that likes this movie can't possibly be a fan of the original... this is kindergarten garbage... anyone could have made a better remake than this.

Summary: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
Review: This movie is about five friends who drive through Texas on their way to a concert. They stop in a small Texas town to report a suicide. They spend the first part of the movie looking for the Sheriff. Little do they know that they are all about to die.

The casting was perfect. Jessica Biel made an outstanding performance as the main character. Her fear was real. The hick townies were also believable.

This movie was excellent. I saw this verion before I rented the original 1974 version. I was very disappointed in the orginial. I will definitely buy the 2003 verion. It is a movie I can watch over and over again.

Summary: Much better than the original!!
Review: I was wondering how this was goanna end up like the original 1974 movie. When I saw this, it was completely different to the original, some characters were different, the story was different, and it's so much more scary. This is all about a group of five teenagers who are heading across country, they soon pick up a hitchhiker, but she is totally strange, and she shoots herself in the head inside the van. The kids are asked to take the body to an old mill so they can speak to the sheriff. But what they don't realize is that someone is out there waiting for them. Leatherface. The five teenage characters on this are different to the others from the original, but similar in some ways. The acting is briliant, I liked Jessica Biel a lot. The gore was quite high. And the film was definately scary, so many shocking scenes and suspenseful. Also, the dinner scene from the original isn't in this one, it is replaced with a big chase scene with Leatherface and Jessica Biel, and I think that works better, 'cause they go inside a slaughterhouse, and I think that works well with the movie. I haven't seen all the special features yet, but I have seen the screen tests, which are interesting to watch. I've seen the redux documentary, which lasts for about an hour and fifteen minutes and it contains some cool stuff to see behind scenes. I haven't seen the rest of the features yet. So, this is a brilliant horror film, one of the best I've ever seen, much better than the original.

Summary: Great Collector's Edition Set
Review: It's been a while since I've written a review, but I was so impressed with this 21 century remake of the legendary horror film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" I felt it was a movie worth commenting on, and even more so, for the sake of the collector's edition dvd 2 disk set.

Like the fist Texas Chainsaw... the 2003 remake is, of course, about the tragedy that befalls a group of 5 youths traveling along the Texas countryside, and how they end of massacred by a chainsaw wielding maniac who offs them one by one (slaughters them....), however in this retelling, there are more dynamics between the characters (both the victims, and the clan of killers), the circumstances surrounding their deaths, as well as this films ability to re-tale the same story without being a carbon copy of the original:

*More characters: The crooked Serif, the mother of Leather face & his clan, little Jedidiah (what was he all about?), the old man in the wheelchair (who was he to the family?), & the 2 strange women in the mobile home. *The dirtor's commentary (you get 3 different versions of commentary) & "Texas chainsaw redux" section explains these new characters and their roll in this 2003 remake very well.

*Better & extended scenarios: The new hitchhiker scenario (totally different & better), the infamous "meathook" scene (more intense & agonizing), the dire chase through the slaughter house (not in the 1974 original), the final try at escape.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Unlike the collector's edition dvd for the 1974 version -- which provided little-more-than-nothing for it's extra features -- the collector's edition for this modern-day rendition really packs a punch! Not only does it provide excellent info. on the making and production of this film, it also has superb extra footage outtakes, cast screen test, various Director's Commentaries, and an outstanding documentary of the notorious Wisconsin ghoul, Ed Gein; the inspiration for not only Texas Chainsaw..., but for Psycho, and Silence of The Lambs. Every clip is not only informative, but extensive, as they provide hours of sheer entertainment for the viewer. Enjoyed it very much ! !

*Also, this collector's edition set comes with an envelope of crime scene photos & a neat metal plate depicting the omenous silhouette of Leatherface standing solemnly in the woods(advertisment photo [dvd coverface]): Great memorabilia!

This DVD set has a lot to offer. GET YOUR COPY NOW!!

Summary: Desecration of the orginal.
Review: The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is probably the most frightening film I have ever seen. Every time I watch it, chills run down my spine, and I feel a compulsive need to keep the lights on. This remake, however, is nowhere near as effective. The original was much more visceral and disturbing, this film tried to replicate that, but failed, mostly because the filmmakers tried to do it simply with gore. You must keep in mind that the original is banned in some countries, yet has less on-screen violence than "Jurassic Park." This is clearly a sensationalistic approach to the original story. The whole thing just looks more refined. The family is a far cry from the gruesome and horrifying originals, and Leatherface is awfully portrayed. He is unrealistic, unsympathetic, and simply less disturbing than Gunnar Hansen's original portrayal. The feeling of reality that so propelled the original is completely gone with the addition of well-known actors and predictable plot. This is "Scream" on steroids. Visually, the film leaves nothing to the imagination, which completely ruins the psychological aspect that dominated in the original. The musical score failed entirely in the building of tension. Instead of the grinding, metallic clangings, and fingernail-on-chalkboard sounds of the 1974 classic, we are presented with an over-done symphonic score, which may have been interesting if the movie itsself was. The film, overall, also lacks the feeling of unrelenting suspense that left audiences, including critic Rex Reed, in a state of total shock to the very end with its original release. I am also supremely angered at the fact that most people who have seen this film didn't even know there was an original.
Basically, this is a gritty, horrifying classic that was hurled into a garbage compactor. Hardly worth your time.

Summary: The BEST version on DVD with bloody good extras!
Review: REV UP THE CHAINSAW AND PUT ON THE MAKEUP! This is the BEST movie remake ever made in cinema. (Not to mention is one of the scariest I've seen in a long time!) Normally, a remake of a classic movie would be bad and not too great. The 2003 version of TCM is as good as the 1974 original with the same amount of suspense and gore. The storyline is pretty much the same, only a bit different at times. Concerning five teenagers, they discover a lone hitchiker walking along the side of the road and decide to give her a lift. But after she commits suicide, all hell breaks loose! A chainsaw wielding maniac (AKA "Leatherface") hunts them all down, hacking them up and torturing them down in the basement of his house. The death sequences were nicely done and grotesque, and the suspense is top notch edge-of-your-seat thrills! I first saw this last October 2003 and just kept jumping at numerous scenes. Tobe Hooper & Kim Henkel wrote the screenplay, therefore you know it's going to be good! BONUS MATERIALS include a documentary on the life of actual serial killer, Ed Gein (which the film is loosely based off of), a music video by Motograter, ALL Theatrical trailers and T.V. spots, and let's all not forget the deleted scenes! Inside this SPECIAL EDITION DVD packaging, you also get a FREE TCM metal faceplate and a small envelope encased with actual photographic evidence. What's especially scary at the film altogether is that it's based on a TRUE STORY! You want a good scary horror flick, this is the one to see! BUY TODAY!!! Rated R for strong horror violence/gore, language and drug usage.

Summary: Now I'm Pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Who the hell do you people putting down this movie are? Why do you feel that you need to pick fights with teenagers that enjoy this film?

Most of you are in your 40's and 50's that were around in that corner of time when the original was released. You had you're fun with the original, now let us have ours with the remake.

(1)You didn't make the original one, so stop acting like you are so much better than everyone else

(2)Stop treating the original as a masterpiece and one of the greatest films of all time.....BECAUSE IT ISN'T

AND(3)See this movie with an open mind, most of you all went into this movie with a set mind that you were gonna hate it, so you never had a chance to enjoy it

Like I saw in an earlier review "If you think good acting, good directing, and good producing makes a movie bad there's something wrong with you."

So get off your high horses and stop bad mouthing this movie.
