Review: Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a very low-budget horror flik. I truly despise this film, it is boring from the beginning to end. The acting is shallow, there is NO plot at all, other than this deranged pervert killing people and "using" them...The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is just as bad as any other slasher film. If you want a movie that is actually frightening and GOOD, see The Exorcist.

Summary: Graphic Violence Meets the Three Stooges
Review: Should anyone watch This? No. If someone pays you to? How badly do you need the money... The acting is absurd, the dialogue is absurd, the story is absurd. The guy with the chainsaw desperately needs a Curly Fine voice over: "Woob woob woob, woob-woob..."A true masturpiece (sic). With it's main focus being the hatred of women, this movie will especially appeal to guys who can't get a date. I won't say it's a bad film. I will however say it's atrocious, awful, cheesy, dreadful, inferior, lousy, poor, vile, putrid, rancid, rotten, disastrous, painful, terrible, sick, regretful, disagreeable and unfortunate. If I wanted to give American cinema an enema I'd put the needle right here. When I want to punish my dog I make him watch this. Makes me feel like hell when I do too, Get my drift?

Summary: DID NOT SCARE ME ONE BIT!
Review: so i see the trailers to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE on DVD and a narrator says that film critic rex reed called it "the scariest movie i've ever seen" (?--rex reed?!). leonard maltin rated it 3 stars; most critics like this horror flick while a lotta fans call it a cult classic. me? i finally viewed TCM in its entirety after seeing some scenes here and there. i didn't want to see it at 1st due to the gory stuff where leatherface slices and dices everyone in sight. i was very surprised it wasn't that bloody yet i was very bored by it. and there was 1 gal who just didn't know how to shut her screaming up towards the end when she was kidnapped by leatherface and his creepy cannibal family. must've lasted a 1/2 hr and no laryngitis! i just wasn't interested in TCM and why the heck 3 sequels and this just in, why even bother do a new remake of this junk that is due out late 2003?! nice features on the DVD though.

Summary: great movie but not that scary
Review: i rented this movie the other day because i herd it was supposed to be so scary. don't get me wrong it was a great movies but i wasn't scared for one minute. im 14 so you think it would scary. there wasn't that much blood in it eather. i do recomend this movie but if your looking for gore don't get this. get the evil dead or somthing. i did give it four stars because it is a great classic horror film. but if you like horror, get this one.

Review: This is the first film about a cannibalistic maniac by horror specialist Tobe Hopper, went pretty much unnoticed in its original release.Thats probably because it sounds like a run of the mill drive in exploitation fair.While it was made on a very low budget it has been hailed as a ground breaking genre work by critics and film buffs.

Review: This is a classic horror movie. This is before I know what you did last summer and scream. It's not as good as them but still good. This is scary! Turn out the lights, watch by yourself and then go out when it's dark. I bet you can't. This DVd also has great features. You'll love it.

Review: Tobe Hooper did a great job making this film. With almost no money he managed to pull off a movie that would change the horror genre forever. This is a must see for anyone that enjoys film in general.

Summary: Watch Out For The Chainsaw!
Review: This shows a great detail of how Ed Gein was with a chainsaw effect, though. I really enjoyed this film. It was cool how the family lived at the end, and how it keeps you wondering what the sequel will be like.
There are a lot of surprises in this one. If you haven't seen it before This movie is real old, and there are a lot of people, mostly teens who dislike it. But I like it because I can understand old horror movies.

Summary: Classic Horror with plenty of Extras
Review: The last time I had seen this movie was back in 1984 on VHS. Pioneer really did a great job with the DVD audio and extras on this one. Unfortunately the video does have some defects. I read on a DVD web site that Pioneer actually used the wrong source material when creating the DVD. They used the copy before the digital cleanup was done. You can notice some black streaks in about four or five shots. That aside the video is great but I did deduct a star for the inferior source material used. Pioneer has not admitted this mistake to date. The movie itself requires little review. It is classic horror at is best and relies a lot on suggestion as compared to outright gore. It truely is one of the most chilling horror movies of all time and ranks right up there with the Exorcist, Evil Dead, and Night of the Living Dead.

Summary: Great horror movie
Review: Shame on the AFI for not including this film among its top 100 Thrillers. This is one of the most disturbing, frightening films of all time and it deserves more recognition. This DVD includes a quality print of the film, so if you've only seen it on twenty year old VHS tapes from your local rental store you're in for a surprise. I envy anyone who gets to see this for the first time.
