Summary: Better than it was originally going to turn out to be!
Review: If you have the DVD, and you read the Fangoria articles on the DVD, you know what I am talking about. Several scripts had been written throughout the course of ten years. And many of them were just plain dumb! For instance, did you know one of the ideas was to have Freddy and Jason fight in a boxing ring with Freddy getting caught in a satellite beam and shot off to the sun? That's right. Some of the stories originally written up for this epic were just plain ridiculous!
Fortunately, it turned out the way it did. The film stays true to both franchises, which is a HUGE plus! The gore is there and, of course, the teenage sex scene.
Aside from that, in a nutshell, Freddy Vs. Jason delivers everything that the fans would expect to see. The only downers are that the movie should have been longer than what it was (about an hour and a half), and the movie is more of an action flick rather than a horror movie.
But in the end, it was well worth it!

Summary: Not Even One Star!!
Review: I asked my husband if it was possible to give a movie 0 stars, and he seemed to think that it deserved at least something, so I am giving it a half-star. In the 80's I was a true fan of the "Nightmare on Elmstreet" and "Friday the 13th" films. This film is downright ridiculous. The acting is horrible, and I'm wondering if Robert Englund was off his rocker when he agreed to do this film. If anything can finally put Jason and Freddy to death, it's this movie. I couldn't wait for it to end and kept looking at my watch. Don't see this movie unless you're masochistic. I didn't even take a chance on watching "Friday the 13: X" because the whole thought of seeing Jason in outer space made me want to die of laughter. "Freddy vs. Jason" is a glorified film for fans of WWE to get their kicks in one five-minute scene where Freddy and Jason go at it with hard-rockin' music. Good luck to those of you who choose to watch it. I'd be curious to know what you think of it.

Summary: the best press conference
Review: ok this review is deticated to the press conference on disk 2. the movie is good and the alternate ending is ok but THE PRESS CONFERENCE is the BEST. i can't belive they put something this funny on a horor movie. horror is for scarying people not too have them out of their chair trying to hold their breath to stop laughing like a maniac. the press conference isn't even that violent no blood or gore or anything like that. maybe like a push or something but thats about it.and the costumrs freddy and jason have it's so hilareous i mean freddy's is funnier but i prefer jason. the money is good like jason and freddy work together but freddy gets angry because jason kills too much people or something. then later on they start fighting. but on both alternate endings jason seems to win which is good cause i prefer jason. who ever likes freddy better obviosly doesn't know that he won't win against jason.

Summary: Blood flows and heads roll...all in good fun.
Review: Horror movies experienced a bit of a rebirth last year, with both "Freddy Vs. Jason" and the remake of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" raking in loads at the box office, and both are now treated to a deluxe special edition DVD, this is something none of the previous "Friday the 13th" or "Nightmare on Elm Street" (outside of the box set) got. The FVJ DVD is loaded with supplements that compliment the movie, which was surprisingly good.

You probably already know the story, so I won't waste keystrokes on describing it ad tedium for you. But what I will say is that this is very much the movie that fans have been ravenous for. Director Ronny Yu wanted to make a back-to-basics slasher movie that respected the mythologies of both series, but added some new twists that would bring them together. Considering how movies ventures of this kind turn out, this movie rises above all the dredge that filled the slasher genre since the craze died in the 80s. This is definitely not a movie for the critics, but fans of either series should be satisfied, if for nothing else than the copious amounts of blood spilled on screen.

Obviously owing to the box office success of FVJ, the New Line DVD gives a nice package of supplements to go with the movie. Here is a breakdown of what you can look forward to:

-Disc one has a nice commentary track featuring Director Ronny Yu, and the two titans themselves, Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger. Englund is the most vocal, and humorous of the bunch. Kirzinger offers a few tidbits, but is mostly quiet. Yu, in his heavily accented but perfectly understandable English, is the most technically inclined. The commentary track is light on the technical details, but is loads of fun.

-There are loads of deleted scenes, but most of them are extended versions of existing scenes in the movie, and are nothing to get excited about. The alternate opening is, again, an extension of the first scene, though it is very classic "Friday the 13th". The alternate ending included is actually pretty good, but I can see why they opted for the other one.

-There is a 1 hour documentary sectioned into 10-15 minute featurettes that cover all aspects of the movie. This is where you can find all the technical details that were not in the commentary. They cover the long and grueling road from inception to completion, including bits on the screenwriting, set design, and the stunts. It has interviews with all the principle players, including Sean Cunningham and some of the New Line executives.

-The best supplement for me was the reprint of the 2 part Fangoria article on the many scripts and the long road to finding the right story to put to screen. It goes into detail about the many script ideas, and how off-the-wall some of them were. Fascinating stuff.

-You also get the assorted trailers, TV spots, and an excruciating music video by Ill Nino. Heard of them? You probably won't be.

"Freddy vs. Jason" is a nice homage to both the series and the fans. Since my expectations were not particularly high going into this movie, I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The DVD package from New Line is an easy recommendation for fans, and hopefully this will finally spark some progress into that "Friday the 13th" box set that fans have been eyeballing.

Summary: Decent
Review: A decent flick, with all of the prerequisite sadistic, twisted deaths of teenagers and warped humor throught. Those nostalgic for the glory (gory?) days of the'80's horror films should not be disappointed. Everything you loved about the Friday the 13th and Elm Street movies is here.

The plot is actuall better than one would aspect for a mainstream slasher flick. I won't spoil it here, but how they make the two movie series gel with each other is logical and satisfying. there are some plotholes (why would you go to a rave a day after two of your friends were brutally murdered?) but that can be quickl cast aside. The action is what you want to see, and it is i abundance.

Watching Freddy and Jason duke it out is a marvel to see. Whil i am not sure how fans reacted overall to the ending (it was s copout, i thought) but it was the getting there that was the most fun. This is a movie wel worth seeing for horror fans.

Summary: it's ok
Review: I don't think anybody actually expected this movie to be good. Needless to say, i enjoyed it, but be warned, this is not a GOOD movie. The script is poorly written, the characters aren't believable, and even for a horror movie, the situations can become quite ludicrous. Don't worry, there's plenty of gore and naked chicks to satisfy everybody who sees this, and the death sequences and fight between freddy and jason at the end are pretty cool to watch. A good movie to a) laugh at how bad it is and b) watch naked chicks getting killed to some great metal (the movie does boast an awesome soundtrack). Fun, but not good.

Summary: One of the best horror movies ever
Review: I didn't get to see this movie in theatres (cause its rated 18 and im not there yet) but when this movie came out, i immediatly rented it, being a horror movie buff and all. Well i'll have to say, i wasn't dissapointed! Lots of gore, action, nudity, and scares! The two best movie slashers (besides Michael Myers and Leatherface, who i'm for to face off), Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, face off to the death, with Jason being the winner, although Freddy still lives.

Highs: -lots of action
-lots of scares
-sexy actresses
-tons of gore
-awesome special features
-awesome music

Lows: -not enough kills
-Freddy only kills 1 person, while Jason kills the rest!!
-uses the "cheap" kind of slow-motion and some points;
When Brad is running around his room while his back is on
fire, and when Jason is on fire walking through the corn
field.
-blood sprays out in straight streams, making it look fake
-blood changes colors sometimes:red,pink,purple,black,blue

This movie is awesome, in everyway possible. Some people may think its cheesy, but most will like it. If you don't like horror movies, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, or blood, stay away!!!!

Summary: somewhere within this lies a good movie
Review: by good i mean in slasher flicks terms.lets go through the checklist.1)crazed lunatics....CHECK.2)high body count....CHECK.3)sexy,dumb as dirt girls just waiting to get beheaded....CHECK.4)gore factor....uuuummmmmm,check i guess.the shown violence was decent but at times cartoonish.5)cheesy acting....CHECK.6)believabilty....YEAH RIGHT.im still at a loss of how semi drowning gives jason invincibilty.and when hes down, not 1 person thought of lopping off his head?nah, that would not only kill jason but the cash cow.and finally,7)plot....uuummmmmmm,check kinda.pitting bad guys against eachother is a novel idea.but connecting them is the trick.if i had my way it would have been jason vs michael.but then again,2 silent stalkers isnt much fun.so in the end this is the best pairing.here, the kids are the typical dunce cap models, and adults even lamer.again, common sense kills the slasher/cash cow.to summerize(how official!)this is worth buying at a sale price of say,12.99(give it a month or so).

Summary: good but not extraordinary
Review: yeah, this is a cool movie... but after all not as much good as I thought. It is beautifully filmed, Freddy and Jason are well made characters but I can't classify it: I mean, this is not Horror (with capital H) is just a goodlooking movie with a (thank god) nice plot and some teens going around and being slaughtered... and sometimes it is even funny. I really don't know what to say, I was waiting for something different. I think a 4 stars is the highest score I can give.

Summary: This movies hella sizary
Review: Freddy vs. Jason is possibly one of the best horror movies of all time. It takes the legendary characters of Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger and puts them in the best and scarist movies of all time. Freddy brings Jason back to life and makes him come to the city and start a killing spree till he is strong enought to take control.
