Summary: Awful and Pointless
Review: Freddy vs Jason is a huge letdown. Aside from the humorous battle in the end, this films sole purpose is to collect our money, and move on to the next sucker.
We've come along way since the original Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street, which were great slasher films.
In this film Freddy enlists the help of Jason, to instill fear in the teens of Elm Street. Apparently the teens have forgotten about Freddy because the parents are all giving their children a drug that prevents them from dreaming. Sound ludicrous? Yeah I thought so.
After Jason starts slaughtering the teens, Freddy starts weeding his way into the teens dreams, but then gets jealous because Jason is taking his children away from him. Then the battle to the death(if there ever is such a thing with these two) begins, with some hilarious results.
One of the films stars is Kelly Rowland from the pop group Destiny's Child, who character dies by being slammed into a tree.
If Kelly is trying to cash in on fellow Desitiny's Child's Beyonce Knowells success, then I'm hoping she starts choosing better scripts, or she's going to wind up in the sequel to the next Childs Play film.
It wouldn't be right if one of these movies ends with the possiblilty for a sequel, and this one doesn't let you down. You'll find yourself saying "Oh they better not!" right before the stupid open ending.
I actually enjoyed Jason X better, which is really sad.
Save your time and skip this one, and watch Cabin Fever instead.

Summary: Really a stretch
Review: For these movies, they should get better with each version because the budget is bigger, the audience knows the background, and the Director is given more freedom. This film was surpringly tedious. Skip it and watch the others instead.

Summary: Freddy vs. Jason
Review: Finally after years of waiting, the movie came out. Me being a Freddy fan I was in his corner. It was an interesting movie. If you like both, then you probably won't care who does what to whom. If you are a big Jason fan, you will enjoy it, if you are a Freddy fan you will enjoy it. I loved the gore!!! What's a horror movie without some gore!!!!

Maybe they can do a Michael Myers vs. Jason next?

Summary: SEVERED LIMBS, GALORE
Review: This movie actually made me a little nauseous. The stumps of severed limbs spray blood like garden hoses.

It's a fun movie, but sickening.

Summary: How big a fan are you?
Review: Right when I started this film and the "Elm St" theme music started playing with the "Jason jason jason" playing over it, I got the chills up my spine. Unfortunately, that was the only time I felt creeped out at all by this.
When I saw the original "Nightmare on Elm Street", I was really freaked out. It still would stand as one of the scariest films ever if the studio hadn't later made Freddy into such a clown with the inevitable march of endless sequels. But I always held out hope that they could make the character interesting again. Part III and "Wes Craven's New Nightmare" both had coolness in them, but it would take awhile to seperate part II and IV from my memory. Jason was always silly, but the series knew exactly what it was, and gave the audience the series of kills and nude shots it required. Never really my cup of tea on the whole, but fun to see with a group. Strangely though, when I first heard of this, I thought it was a great idea. Together, maybe both series could become fun again.
Ok, basic synopsis is: Due to extraordinary efforts by the parents of Elm St kids, everyone has forgotten all about Freddy Krueger and he's lost all his power. So, he looks around Hell until he finds the comfortably-slumbering-until-he-assumably-gets-launched-into-the-future Jason. Fred's idea is to send Jason to Elm St to kill kids, and make people think Freddy is back, then the fear gets started, Freddy gets power, Jason takes a powder, and 17,000 more Nightmare sequels spawn. Unfortunately for Fredster, Jason isn't ready to step quietly back into the night when his purpose has been served, so like most testosterone-driven unkillable monsters, they duke it out.
This is about as good as anything in the Jason series has been and probably as good as anything but the first Nightmare, but that won't be a recommendation to anyone but HARDCORE fans of either or both series. It's really just more of the same we've seen before, just overlapping. Only the end has some novel entertainment value, when Freddy and Jason really throw down and kick the crap out of each other for fifteen minutes or so. But, when you know that neither one of them is really gonna die, where's the tension? (See "Matrix: Reloaded"-any Neo fight) Well, it wasn't a complete waste of time, but it was clear watching it, that the director really made this amped up for a theater crowd. I'm sure it would have been fun there. At home, it's just kinda sad. One note for austinites: there is footage from "Aint it cool news"'s "Camp Hack-n-slash" in the extras, so if you were there, you might want to check it out just to see that.

Summary: Very fun, a must have
Review: This was a terrific movie. I have to give it 4.5 stars. It was scary and funny. There was the gratuidous nudity, but it was in a comedic way. It has unrealistic violence where the blood squirts in different directions and squirts on and off. There were also some good jumps. The downside was it didn't really refernce previous films which is what I really wanted. There weere some but not enough. It would have also been cool to see a previous charater, besides freddy or jason, come back. The plot was a little bizarre but fun. All in all, if you like horror films you'll love this.

Summary: IT'S O.K!!!!!!!!!
Review: I didn't really take this movie all that seriously, but I was entertained at least. Frankly, I thought it was hilarious because it definitely wasn't scary at all. It was interesting watching two indestructable forces battle it out though. I've always wanted to see what it would be like for those two horror titans clash, and I must say I wasn't too disappointed.

Summary: Best movie from both series
Review: This film is freat. Its about freddy bringing Jason to life so Jason can kill the elm street kids aand put fear in them. Their fear will make freddy strong enough to once again re enter the children's dreams. But then freddy realises Jason is killing everybody and not giving fredyy a hance to kill. so now freddy has to kill jason first. Although the big battle between the 2 isn't until the end, it is still good. When the big ending battle started, heavy metal music started playing and and jason was pushing freddy through alot of windows. This movie is great and is highly suggested. Plus there are hopes for an F vs J 2!!!!!!!!!

Summary: WELCOME TO MY WORLD, B***H!
Review: This is the best film to ever be released. I think that it deserves more credit from the critics, but of course they're into stuff like Under the Tuscan Sun. People don't get that horror movies are the ones that are supposed to just be fun to watch. The Ring sucked as a horror, but I'd buy it just 'cuz I thought it was more of a comedy. I'm hoping for a sequel and I'm currently trying to type a script for it, but I don't think New Line will take it. This DVD is packed with features that I couldn't even finish the first day I got it. I watched with and without the commentary and I watched all the trailers and spots and stuff. It's an excellent buy. I laugh and I get scared at times too. I only wish that Linderman and Kia were the couple to survive. (Sorry for the spoiler!) I didn't like Will and Lori because 1) They were sissies! and 2) When Kia and Linderman needed help, they didn't help them a bit. Linderman was spearing Jason with the flag and Will just stood there. When Kia confronted Freddy, Will and Lori could have tried to hit Freddy or tell her Jason was behind her. Instead they just ran to a boat. Sad. Other than those two characters, the movie is the best movie ever filmed. Buy it!

Summary: ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MOVIE OF ITS KIND IN 2003
Review: This was the best movie ever. What an unexpected treat. When I first saw this movie was coming out I expected a train wreck. But I was pleasantly surprised by the humor and story continuity of FREDDY VS. JASON. Robert Englund was right on throughout as he outwitted and out-jested Jason in just about every scene.

This was the old Universal horror flicks and Abbott & Costello paradies from the 1940's & 50's all over again. Very well done with respect to the characters and their genres. If you liked any of the original FRIDAY THE 13th or NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET installments you owe it to yourself to see this.

Absolutely the best of both series right here. Even non-fans will find some cheap laughs in this movie. Enjoy.
