Summary: Freddy vs Jason
Review: I've heard about Freddy and Jason going at it so i watched all the Nightmare and Friday the 13 movies again and i rEalized on "Jason Goes To Hell The Final Friday" Freddy grabs Jason's mask. Then the same friend said Jason is mad because Freddy was the one who pushed Jason in the water so he would drown. ater, Freddy was burnt to death by his Elm Street neighbors. So now that Freddy and Jason are both back Jason is seeking revenge!!

Summary: oh this is going to be horrible
Review: "freddy VS jason"..a movie that all freddy fans and jason fans have been waiting to see for years.
all of us back in the day when freddy was a huge success and anybody who was anybody loved freddy all thought this movie was going to be the greatest movie EVER!
well back in those days horror was at its best..now horror in general is at its all time worst..
now lets look at this movie..kane hodder isnt going to be playing jason due to the fact that ronny yu wants jason to have a little bit of a thin build..and even be a little "sympathetic" a side of jason im sure none of us wanted to ever see!
its almost like this movie dont belong to the enjoyment of the fans anymore..im sure ronny yu knew we had some great ideas for this..one of those ideas im sure we wanted was to keep hodder in freddy vs jason..to have jason be the monster we always loved..but noooo ronny yu wanted jason to be the good and caring jason we never saw.
another flaw about this movie is the fact that MISTAKES such as NEW NIGHTMARE and JASON X have killed the idea of having freddy vs jason.
bottom line is this...if your a true fan of the nightmare series then its worth a peek due to the fact freddys in this back to his old ways..but if your a die hard jason fan who pretty much got used to kane hodder then who knows..
but either way at least in my view FREDDY VS JASON is going to be down right horrible.
freddy vs jason does have the potential to be a great movie..but ronny yu didnt want to listen to fans and obviously didnt want to study the psychology of both the nightmare series and the jason series so thus..this will be a joke just like "bride of chucky" another series ronny yu had no idea about

Summary: Clash of the Slashers!
Review: With a combined 17 movies between them, horror icons Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees finally duke it out on DVD. The results are great.

After years in development hell, "Freddy vs. Jason" finally premiered in August 2003. The film boasts alot of gore, nudity and a surprisingly good story that made it a box-office hit.

Freddy Krueger(Robert Englund) from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series recruites Jason from the "Friday the 13th" series to bring back terror to Elm Street in order to have Freddy instill fear into the community. After several bloody slayings to teenagers from Jason, Freddy realizes that the Crystal Lake madman won't stop into he's ready to. The result is a kick-ass battle. I was going for Jason. Even though he's dull, doesn't talk and has no personality unlike Freddy, he's great. You kind of feel sorry for him as a child. A disfigured retarded kid being picked and then drowned to death. But hey, he did kill more then 200 people. I guess payback was due.

The DVD extras are fun. There's commentary by stars Englund and Ken Kirzinger(Jason). The only problem with this movie is that I miss Kane Hodder from the previous 4 movies as Jason. Kirzinger is good, he's tall and sleaker. But I guess the role was really born to Hodder. He was really Jason! His movements, stance and sheer size was perfect! How can director Ronny Yu miss his credentials? He played Jason 4 times! Anyway treasure the DVD! Expect a sequel, too!

Summary: Is this a joke?... because it's funny
Review: I found it mentally impossible to take this movie seriously. Maybe I just can't follow along with slasher movie plots but this movie was pretty ridiculous. As far as I can tell the plot is mindless and personality-less teenagers trying to get 2 famous slashers to kill each other before they kil them. This movie is poorly acted, and poorly written. Freddy does get a lot of laughs though, about 50% of them are intentional.

Summary: Freddy Vs Jason is DVD is great! Special thanks to New Line
Review: After over 10 years of development Freddy Vs Jason has finally come to pass. I have to say I was very surprised that I liked Freddy Vs. Jason. I thought the 2 main actors (Jason Ritter & Monica Kenna) portrayed more believable characters than I can remember in either of the series recent history. I especially liked John Ritters (Jack Triper from Threes Company) son Jason Ritter who did a great job acting. Monica Kenna also did a great job with the emotion she put across the screen, but sometimes she does over do it. I also liked the way the movie took place in both Freddys and Jasons home towns. From Elm St. to Camp Crystal Lake this movie has some major blood shed, and to see both of these infamous killers on the screen together is a little strange and silly at first but it really does work. Having been long forgotten by the new children of Elm Street, Freddy Krueger's power over his potential victims' dreams has been dead. After being dead for far too long, he enlists the aid of Camp Crystal Lake psychopath Jason Voorhees to rise from the dead by sending the apparition of his mother to awaken Jason, and send him to Springwood to put back fear into the Elm Street children. Freddy then hopes to regain his powers and, to kill teenagers in their dreams. Now things seem to being going as planed until Jason carries out his job better than than expected, Freddy quickly grows angry with Jason getting all the attention, and tries to stop Jason himself. In the middle of Freddy and Jason's battle are several teenagers. I will not say who won as the ending is well worth the long bloody battle between the two. I do think you have to be a die hard Nightmare On Elm St and/or Friday The 13th fan to really appreciate this movie. This movie opened with over 36 Million dollars on its first weekend, which is amazing considering the last sequels in both series (Wes Cravels New Nightmare and Jason X) opened both at a little over 6 million.

The highlights of this film are Freddy and Jason being brought back to their roots. Freddy was a truly frightening figure back when he first came out, but before too long he was being turned into a wise cracking comedian in later Elm St. films. What I really like about this film is the way Freddy Krueger has been brought back to his horror icon self rather than a comedian. Freddy still makes some wise cracks but focuses more on his horror skills. Jason Voorhees, is still the same stalker with a hockey mask and his machete, but has his painful past more expored than before and showing how he became such a horrible killer.

Image & Sound: I have to say the picture quality is truly amazing. Presented in 2.35:1 along with the Full Screen Version, the print is near perfect. Grain is practically non-existent, the Color levels are all rich and vibrant, and the black levels are solid with no murkiness. The fine detail is sharp which all combined give Freddy Vs. Jason a excellent overall print. Like the video, the audio truly stands out as well. The Dolby Digital 5.1 EX audio track makes excellent use of the surround channels for maximum fright as the sounds creep from the speaker to speaker scare the hell out of you at times. The voices and dialogue are clear and easily heard at all times. The soundtrack is crystal clear.

Extras: New Line sure is very giving when it comes to the DVD extras. Disc two is where most of the extras are found. First up are 20 Deleted and Alternate scenes with commentary (including original opening & closing) all of them looking like the final product, with choices of anamorphic widescreen and full screen video and Dolby Digital audio. You can play it with the commentary from Yu and executive producer Doug Curtis. Behind the Scenes Coverage including screenwriting, set design, make up, stunts and photography, Visual Effects Exploration, Storyboards and Galleries, Script-to-Screen & Trivia viewing modes, Cutting Room Floor - make your own fight scene, Killer sound bites, Fangoria magazine articles, and jump to a nightmare.

Commentaries: The commentary track, features director Ronny Yu, Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger. Actorss Robert Englund (Freddy) and Ken Kirzingereem (Jason) reflect their on-screen personas. Robert Englund is very talkative, but Ken Kirzinger does not relly have much to say. Director Ronny Yu discusses scenes, but Englund makes this commentary entertaining.

I would highly recommend watching or purchasing this Freddy Vs. Jason DVD. I feel to really appreciate this movie you need to be a Nightmare on Elm St. and/or Friday The 13th Fan. If your not a fan you can still appreciate what this DVD has to offer. From the amazing picture, and outstanding audio to all the Bonus Feautures on Disc 2 (which are loaded with enough extras to keep you busy for a few hours) check this DVD out to see what all DVDs should be like.

Final Words: What can I say that I have not said all ready? I do have to thank New Line Home Entertainment for creating such a wonderful DVD with a near perfect print from the company that's known for excellent transfers, and who are known for giving fans what they want... all the extra stuff. Great Job New line!

Summary: FREDDY vs. Jason
Review: Ok, first of all no one wins that is why they are talking about having a second one FREDDY vs. Jason 2. So, we could say Jason didn't win. Remember, FREDDY DID NOT DIE, he winked at the end. I watched an interview with Robert England and it seems like he is almost positive that they were going to do a second one, actually its already In Talks, so i am excited. I hope to god they do a second one. Robert England also said that they might introduce Michael Myers and Jamie Lee Curtis, BUT it might not happen, so don't get your hopes up just yet.

A lot of Poeple Told me they didn't like because Freddy was too funny. Well i say, if you watch all the of Nightmare Series Freddy is suppose to be funny that's how Freddy is, he is hilarious. He always made me laugh from the first one to the very last. If i had to choose between Freddy or Jason to kill me it would so be Freddy because at least he makes it somewhat interesting, Jason on the other hand doesn't, He just kills you and tosses you aside like your nothing.

Even though I am not a Jason fan, I do feel bad for him and i do understand why he goes out and kills all those people. He was tormented by everyone as a child because of his deformed figure. I say he actually has an excuse to get his revenge on the world cause he knows if he was still alive today people would do they same thing make fun of him, not help him when he drowns, torment him. They all had a chance to be his friend and no one wanted to be so now he is getting his revenge and they deserve it.

Summary: Surprisingly good...
Review: Freddy, that old child killer is back. This time he manges to somehow bring Jason back from the dead and send him on a murderous rampage through Freddy's old neighborhood. You see, the townsfolk have drugged the children so they won't dream, hence barring Freddy from killing people. Freddy need Jason to cause nightmares once again so he can return.
Soon Jason is out of control. Freddy decides to kill him, but can't. So he tranquilizes him (while posessing a stoner's body) to bring Jason into Freddy's dreamworld. Freddy pounds Jason to no avail. Seemingly nothing can stop him...at least until Freddy discovers his psychological weakness: water.
Exploiting Jason's hydrophobia, Freddy tries to drown Jason as a little boy. The sex crazed teens decide they must revive Jason and somehow pull Freddy into the real world so Jason can have a fighting chance. Jason is revived (and pissed, I might add) and Freddy is indeed pulled into the real world. What results is the most hyped movie fight in years.
I won't reveal who wins the fight here (I'm still not sure who really won anyway), but suffice it to say, one boy and one girl survive all of the killings.
This film seems to have been inspired by Universal's Frenakenstein Meets The Wolfman and Toho's King Kong Vs Godzilla. Interestingly, Jason resembles Universal's Mummy more than Frankenstein (Karis in the last four entries, not the first mummy). It is alwasy interesting to see two villains fight, because one has non idea who will win.
Though I would have staged the film a bit differently, it is surprisingly good. I would love to see Bruce Cambell's Ash added to the mix.
The main problem with this film (and ironicly one of it's strengths) is that it takes the 2 series too seriously. Of course another problem is that old budget thing. Some scenes looked very cheap.
Over all, I'm surprised to say I sort of enjoyed this film! Jason fans may be a bit disappointed, however. Notice the title: FREDDY Vs Jason. This is more of a Freddy vehicle that Jason has stumbled into. That's not surprising, however, since the Friday series never had much substance compared to the Nightmare one (though that's not saying much). For continuity buffs, this film ignores the last two or three Friday episodes.
