Summary: What a Waste of Time
Review: To begin with, both the "Elm Street" and "Friday the 13th" franchises have been 'done to death' to forgive a bad pun. Still, the idea that someone could create a hybrid of these two stories, and moreover, their lead characters, was an interesting idea. In lite of having seen this movie, it was an idea that should have been 'put to rest'.The movie is an uninspired, rehashed telling of the Nightmare and Friday fables, rolled into a bloodbath of meaningless violence and almost comedic fight scenes. The story, narrated by a Freddy who sounds like he has lost all the menace from his voice, begins with the forementioned character in hell, trying to figure a means to which he can return to Elm Street and continue his task of killing. He enters the mind of rival killer, Jason Voorhees, and sets about convincing Jason that he should go to Elm Street and kill. (One of the very few clever plot twists is that Freddy pretends to be Jason's mother, (a driving motivator in the Friday the 13ths storyline)). Jason obliges and begins wiping out the kids that live in the now infamous 1428 Elm Street house. Before long, though, Freddy realizes that, though he is growing stronger (because people are beginning to believe he is back, (their fear gives him strength)), he is only getting credit for the murders, not actually committing them, and so he decides, in turn, to take Jason on, to eliminate him from the Elm Street equation and thus reclaim his throne. Mixed up in this whole mess is a bunch of, you guessed it, naughty teenagers, who engage in drugs, alcohol, promiscous sex, and the like. Two of these teens were locked up years earlier in a mental instiution where all those who believed in Freddy were sent to prevent Freddy's continued bloodbath on Elm Street. They escape, return to Elm street, inform their friends that Freddy is back, and manage to bump into Jason Voorhees. Through a series of events, they end up at Camp Crystal Lake, pull Freddy out of their dreams, and allow the title characters to beat the living hell out of each other. Perhaps, had I never seen the first Elm Street movie and the first couple of Friday the 13th movies, I wouldn't have been so bothered, but both of these franchises began with a story that was genuinely creepy, inspired and very frightening. What was left by the time this movie was released was the realization that marketing can sell garbage, no matter how much it stinks. Robert Englund, who created the role of Fred Krueger in all of the previous films, looks tired, and contrived....his burns look like a rubber mask stretched over an aging man's face, and his posture, poise and general demeanor make him look tired, as though his heart was not into playing this role yet again. Jason, at least, looked like he did in the other films, though it takes minimal talent to walk around stiffly, carrying a machette. Save your money folks....the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre comes out next month, and it, at least, looks like it remains faithful to the original idea behind that misguided horror franchise. We will see...

Summary: a masterpeice
Review: this is, by far, the best freddy/jason movie i've seen. it's a movie for all fans of the genre. if you like freddy, jason or horror movies, this is one to see.

Summary: Let's get ready to RUMBLE!!
Review: First off, don't go overanalyzing this movie. This is a teen slasher flick for cryin' out loud, so shut up, eat your popcorn and drink your soda and watch it the way it's supposed to be watched. By the way: I hate Destiny's Child. So it seems that Freddy's been all forgotten about, so he revives Mr. Machete to do some chopping and inspire some fear in the teens of Elm Street. Blah blah blah. Who cares about the teens of Elm Street? We care about the head-on collision between two slasher titans. Much gory action ensues, and we see what happens when an unstoppable destructive force (Freddy) meets an immovable, or in this case unkillable, object (Jason). Englund gets to talk more than he did in any of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, AND IT'S GOOD, because Freddy hasn't ever looked quite as joyfully twisted and sadistic. As an added bonus, there are naked boobs galore and Kelly Rowland gets abused. Did I mention I hate Destiny's Child?

Summary: This is a cool movie.
Review: This movie's cool. I saw it in the theature once. I havn't seen a lot of the Jason movies in a long time. I have only seen Nightmare on Elm Street Parts 1 and 2.
I had been looking forward to seeing this since I heard and saw the end of Jason goes to Hell. At the end of of Jason Goes to Hell It shows Freddy Kruger's glove and claws come out of the ground, grabs Jason's Mask, and pulls it underground. This is the sequal to Jason Goes to Hell.

Review: I think that freddy should battle micheal myers instead of jason make so much more sense. Jason only comes out 1 every year but micheal and freddy can battle year round. Pluse freddy and jason are both wimps so makes sence thay battle.

Summary: Scary: No. Entertaining: Oh, baby, yeah!
Review: I actually disagree with most of the people who say different stuff about this film. No, it wasn't one bit scary and the blood was a little unrealistic, I must have not gotten any jokes except several that Freddy said so it's not a comedy. That only left with me with one option, and some of you may not agree, but in the end this formed out more like an action movie. Sure, many people were killed by the two legendary monsters but I didn't care: All I wanted to see was Freddy and Jason to finally get together and smash each other to pieces. Was the acting great? No. Is it going to earn an Oscar? No. Should you listen to the critics and not go to see this movie? Absolutely not. It entertained me to the max and as the final battle didn't disappoint, as blood flew with the machete and knives. When I say this movie isn't scary, I'm not saying it isn't bloody, cause much gore is spilled. Several of the films incredibly gruesome moments include: The first scene is Freddy, talking about his past. He throws a doll into a fire and advances towards a little girl as he extends his blades. We then see the doll burning as screams are heard from the little girl. The first seen kill in the film is Jason, who stabs a young lady through a tree. Other kills include many people who get decapitated and mutilated throughout the film. Though the ending is kind of a tie, I would rate Jason the winner considering he killed many more victims than his nemesis, Freddy. Another death includes a man who puts two syringes into Jason's neck and puts sleeping drugs into him. Before Jason falls to sleep, he uses the machete to split the person in half and we see the two pieces land. Many people are sliced and diced throughout the film though surprisingly not in one of those when-is-he-going-to-attack-fashion. We know that a person is going to be killed, we're just surprised at how gruesomely it's done. In the movie, Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) recruits Jason to scare fear into the kids of Springwood's hearts so he can once again haunt their dreams (they take pills to prevent themselves from having dreams and Freddy needs them to have power). However, when Jason gets a little out of control and kills too many of Freddy's victims, Krueger is left with no choice to fight down the monster he first relied on. And in the process, over twenty people die, many of who had nothing to do with anyone and just appeared for less than ten seconds to have Jason insert his machete into them. Overall, not a family movie but still a blast of action, blood, monsters, blood, violence, and more blood (it may sound scary but you get kind of used to all the gore by the end). Four out of five stars. Running time: 97 minutes.

Summary: Long Live Jason!
Review: I have to say that after a decade's gone by since New Line Cinema made their first Friday the 13th movie and first sparked the idea of having Jason and Freddy finally square off, the end result wasn't too shabby. I definitely missed Kane Hodder everytime I saw Jason on screen but I guess Kirzinger's performance could've been worse. Robert Englund as the classic looking Freddy was a great touch. The fight sequences were well done and were very exciting to watch. I didn't at all agree with them having Kelly Rowland in the movie but at least she got dealt with before the end. And the ending of the film ended up being about as perfect as it could've been. A very nice way for fans of both characters to leave the theater with a smile on their faces. As a slasher flick, the critics and haters will spit on this movie and smash it down every chance they get. But to long-time fans of one or both franchises this is about as good as it gets!! Who cares what they say? We are the ones who have kept the makers interested in continuing these franchises. We are the ones who have supported the characters over all the years and bought the tickets. This is our movie and I for one am satisfied with it. Now give us the ultimate special edition DVD!

Summary: A Fun Flick
Review: I was really looking forward to this movie, and I was not let down. Why? Well, I never went in expecting a good movie. I knew it would be [cheese], but it was fun [cheese]. Its a movie you go to watch and shut your brain off. Its not high art, but it never tries to be high art. If it wanted to be high art than it wouldn't feature Freddy or Jason. There is a reason I only gave it four stars. Its Monica Keena as Lori... I liked the rest of the cast, a lot. Kelly Rowland was great, although the girl who played Gibb was wasted But Monica... Monica was just bad, and the problem was... she was the lead. I actually wanted her character to die by the end, and very rarely do I want that. And I checked the ending of the book (based on an earlier script) and if they had gone with that ending, she would have. But sadly, we have this one. Still, worth seeing for the good ol' hack and slash. Have fun, and don't complain that this isn't an A list movie. Of course it isn't. Its combing two series that are the high light of B grade cinema.

Summary: Lots of eye candy, humor, and entertainment
Review: This movie pretty much has it all. You have the nudity, sex scene, drinking alcohol, beautiful girls, and two of the most well known horror movie villians of all time. Personally, I wish this movie would have come out in 1990 when it would have been a surefire record breaker at the box office, but in 2003, this movie didn't disappoint in the least. Monica Keena was excellent in the lead role. For any of you who watched Dawson's Creek, she was Jen's nasty friend for Season 2. She's an extremely beautiful girl, and watching her throughout the movie is certainly easy on the eyes. Jason was just as strong and destructive as ever, and Freddy was just as humorous and non-scary as ever. The movie wasn't really meant to be a true horror movie, like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Instead, it was a suspense driven movie, with added humor, and lots of entertainment. Plus, everyone knew the background of both Jason and Freddy, so seeing those two fight it out was pretty awesome. The end gave way to a sequel, of course, and I honestly wouldn't mind seeing it. All in all, very cool movie.
