Summary: Freddy vs. Jason
Review: Hmm...What can I say about this movie that hasn't already been said? It feature two of the three greatest slasher movie icons (the third being Michael Myers) and puts them together to duel it out. Very entertaining, crappy story though, but still very fun to watch. Fans of both series will not be dissapointed, it has a pretty long fight at the end, and I recommend you watch it, because it is the best of the Jason series and the worst of the Freddy series.

Rated R for Violence, Gore, Drug Use, Some Nudity, and Language.

Summary: blood, gore, and all types of fun!
Review: ever since freddy vs jason came out to theatres i had wanted to see it, never did, but this past weekend me and my friend watched it. WOW, this movie was better than i thought it would be. all the critics are saying its not that great, just guts and bad acting. well they are wrong! although i will say the acting wasnt thaat great, and the dialog was kinda cheesy, but everything else was perfect. freddy vs jason is more of a blood fest than a scary movie, although some people may find it scary. the movie starts out with a chilling prolouge about how freddy got into hell, and what hes going to do about children fearing him. The scene then opens up to a hot girl about to take a naked late night swim. the girl takes off all her clothes and runs, naked on the deck and into the water. she hears a noise, and thinks its her boyfriend, well its jason! she quickly puts on a small towel, and runs through the woods, and as shes running her boobs fly out of her towel, so shes practically running naked through the dark sacy woods at night! then she leans against a tree, and suddenly jason comes and stabs her to death. Then its opens to a chilling scene about freddy telling jason to kill people for him. thats where the movie really begins. teenagers are then at a house, while its stormy and raining, wow, we ahvent seen this before... so the scary-ness is overplayed, but not the way of this dudes death. one of the girls boyfriends comes, and they have sex, the girl then takes a shower, but while shes in it jason comes and stbs the dude throught the whole bed, blood and gore all over!! and then he takes the bed and folds it in half, so that it crushes his body. the movie really takes off from there, and im not going to say much more, but there still is plenty of gore. more killings happen, and then freddy and jason fight. the part we've all been waiting for! but im not going to tell you who wins and why, youll just have to see the movie yourself...yet one of my most favorite scnes is a flashback to jasons childhood, it shows you what really happened that day at crystal lake.

Summary: Final Bout
Review: I was quite impressed, very impressed. I thought that the plot was very clever. This movie was probably thought to be just a come back from the dead and kick ass movie. But it wasn't, it actually had a very clever plot. The graphics were sweet, and the acting was cool. Stunts kicked ass and catch phares were hilarious. This movie is definately not for anyone under the age 15. I mean this movie is anything any guy would ever want, the two sweetest slasher killers against each other, girls girls girls galore, and nice violence.

Freddy needs to return to elmstreet, but he can't come back if no one remembers him, or if no one fears him. "Now being forgotten, now thats a bitch!" quotes freddy in the beginning. So Freddy looks for someone who will spark some terror in the hearts of elmstreet that will make them remember him. So he tricks Jason into going to elmstreet. Jason attacks the house in which Freddy is known for terrorizing. Once Jason stirs up trouble ever one thinks that Freddy is back. So... they start to remember and they start to fear him. Freddy returns.

So the big battle begins... Freddy trys to kill his prey but Jason gets there first. Freddy gets pissed so he tries to kill Jason. Thats when the blades fly. The kids then help Jason kill Freddy, but Jason accepts help from no one.

The ending is sweet, so many deaths, Freddy and Jason think of the sweetest moves against each other. Freddy has the most hilarious lines and there is some really nice background music. I really enjoyed this movie and I hope everyone else will also. I recommend this to Freddy and Jason fans and fans of just sweet graphic movies. Not for the faint of heart a really gore fest, lots of sexual content and language is the least of your problems (but they swear every other sentence in the middle) 15+ is my suggestion. Have fun with this movie.

Summary: "Welcome to my Nightmare"
Review: Freddy Vs. Jason started out on a fairly ok note. It brought back that old 80s horror movie feeling. The setup of Jason and Freddy fighting each other is very clever and an imaginitive idea. The acting is well-delivered from some of the actors, but there are lots of flaws in this movie: 1. It is not horror! It is simply not suspenseful, only includes a few genuinely scary moments, and focuses WAY too much on blood and gore instead of thrills and chills. 2. It is a self-parody, instead of a truly original piece of work. The movie is obviously supposed to spoof Freddy and Jason's routes, but couldn't they have thought of more original ways to do it? 3. Typical characters, with not a whole lot of psychological depth. When I watch a movie, any kind of movie, I like to be intrigued with the characters because of their psychological depth and their problems in life, their ups and downs. But, from what I recall, these characters are basically derived from the old 80s slasher movies. 4. The reslotion could've been a little bit more shocking and mysterious. 5. Unbelievable. A movie is only scary when it's believable, and this is just way too over-the top.
All in all, this movie is somewhat entertaining, and it is what I expected: A silly self-parody action film, instead of what it should be: A true horror classic. If you want horror, I suggest you see the original "Nightmare on Elm Street" (still ubelievable, and too gory, but much scarier) or "Friday the Thirteenth" (Which is somewhat scary), or even "Scream" (A clever self-parody that mixes comedy and genuinely scary moments) or "The Silence of the Lambs" (Terrifying and haunting). The list of smart horror movies goes on, and this movie, in my own personal opinion, is not an addition to that list. The fact that this ridiculous movie could be made and brought to screen and actually praised by so many should be saddening to me, since I am a young movie-maker. But, it's not. It's inspiring. If THIS can be praised, then the movie I'm making should be praised! If THIS could be made, there are a lot of things that could be made. Still, don't get your hopes up, filmakers out there. It's not as easy as it may seem.

Summary: Let me start by saying...
Review: Let me start by saying that I am NOT a horror nut. Yes, I like horror movies, such as Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Halloween, but I am not obsessed. In fact, a lot of the sequels stink. Now, you might be wondering why I started the review with this. It's because a lot of the good reviews I've read ARE horror nuts. Probably, some people are thinking that they only liked this movie because they are a horror nut. Well, I'm your proof that that is not true. This is an overall good movie. The special effects were great, the sound was great, the kills were great, and so on. Also, the acting is getting a lot of criticism. The actors who played Lori and Will were great. The only people who I thought could have been better were Kelly Rowland (Kia) and Ken Kirzinger (Jason). Kane Hodder was a much better Jason. Once again, Robert Englund was a genius as Freddy Krueger. Not only the acting and the kills, but the inventiveness and his wisecracks ("I've always had a thing for the ... in this house"). Ronny Yu did a great job as director, considering he knew nothing about the two franchises before he was asked to direct. I do wish Wes Craven had a bit more to do with it, but you can't expect everything to go your way. The other thing I was surprised at was that Jason did not have the infamous mark on his mask. Another reason why Kane Hodder should have plated Jason. All the critics gave it bad reviews because it was not realistic. Duh. I don't think anyone expected it to be realistic. If you are a horror nut, you will love this movie. If you LIKE the horror movies, like me, you will also enjoy it.

Summary: ANOTHER JASON MOVIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I was tired of watching jason movies after the second one or third can't rember wich it is the most over made movie in horror history and not a very good one at it from my count that is nine to many because if you have seen one jason movie you have seen them all i wish the director(s) of the previous friday the 13th movies would have saved there film because they all sucked i wish freddy would have killed him in the first five minutes or sooner the friday the 13th series are the worst horror/slasher flicks of all time it should have been freddy vs micheal myers that would have been more interesting plus they went and made jason look completly different now freddy on the other hand was cool and alot better movie except a new nightmare up until then they where all good it is cool how freddy toys with his victims before he kills them and the only reson his body count wasn't as high as jason's because if jason did't have a high body count who would watch them freddy could draw a croud without all of the blood and gore and the directors didn't feel the need to over do freddy but i will say that the fight scene at the end of this movie was cool as hell

Summary: The ULTIMATE slasher film!
Review: I'll admit, I'm not a huge gorehound or slasher film fanatic. Movies like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, etc. are all terrible. But in the 80's, slasher films were, for the most part, original and creative. The 80's brought forth two iconic and famous slasher anti-heroes: Freddy Krueger (from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series) and Jason (from the "Friday the 13th" series). Since back then, everyone (at least every horror fan) has wanted to see these two in the same film, and in 2003 it finally happened in "Freddy Vs. Jason".
Directed by Ronny Yu (Bride of Chucky, The Bride With White Hair) and produced by Sean Cunningham (the director of the original "Friday the 13th) and Robert Shaye (producer of all the Freddy films, look for his cameo as the principal of the High School) this film finds Jason (Ken Kirzinger) "dead" and Freddy (perfectly reprised once again by the inimitable Robert Englund) trapped in hell. None of the children on Elm Street remember him because he is a secret among the adults, and so they don't have nightmares and he can't kill. So Freddy taps into the nightmares of none other than Jason to do his dirty work on Elm Street so children will think it is Freddy and once again begin to fear. But Jason keeps on killing, and Freddy never gets to have any "fun". The children of Elm Street figure this out and decide to pull Freddy out of a dream into the real world so Jason can kill him. But no matter what happens, if Jason or Freddy win, everyone else loses. It's the ultimate showdown between evil vs. evil in the ULTIMATE slasher film.
Ronny Yu's direction is great. This film is much funnier yet scarier and more creative than his "Bride of Chucky" and "Freddy Vs. Jason" ends up being better than all the Jason films and most of the Freddy films (with the exception of the original "Nightmare" and "Wes Craven's New Nightmare"). The visual CGI effects are very cool, not being overused or too fake in most parts and the cinematography is incredible especially in the dreams of the boiler room. I even kind of liked the music. A lot of it is hard rock/heavy metal, but in the very beginning while the New Line logo flies onto the screen in red you hear the "Nightmare on Elm Street" theme with the awesome sound effect of Jason breathing (ch-ch-ch-ha-ha-ha). Surprisingly, this movie's visual flair/style and plot is much more clever and interesting than your average slasher. There were genuinely scary or gross moments and I'm not easily scared or grossed out. Some of the death scenes were the best in horror, like the one guy getting folded in half in the mattress (I went "gross!" at that one in the theater) The problem with some of the past Freddy movies is that in certain scenes you could tell when it was a dream, but there were moments in "Freddy Vs. Jason" that I didn't know it was a dream until good 'ol Freddy popped out. The acting is NOT top-notch or anything, but this is a horror film and most don't have superb acting, yet the acting in this is head-and shoulders above most other slasher films. Plus, Robert Englund's performance as Freddy was amazing and that's all that matters, right? Truth be told, I'm not really a fan of any of the Jason films, especially "Jason X" which is so bad that it should be illegal to make movies that bad. He's a totally one-dimensional character, even for a horror movie. He's just a huge, hockey-masked immortal psycho that kills people with a machete or whatever else he can get his hands on. It doesn't really matter what actor they use as long as he's tall and bulky (staunch Jason fans say that Kane Hodder was the best, but it makes no difference to me, they're all the same). Freddy however is amazing. Robert Englund has portrayed him in every Freddy film including this one, and he looks better, has actual dialogue that is funny yet creepy at the same time, and has a better backstory and more clever ways to kill people in their dreams. When I saw this in theater, I was rooting for Freddy all the way. When I saw the ending to "Freddy Vs. Jason" I was mad because it seemed as if Freddy had died until the very end, which makes it a perfect ending to this (perhaps?) eventual horror/slasher classic. I only wish that Wes Craven would have had some involvement with this movie, a cameo by him or Heather Langenkamp would have been fabulous.
The recently released DVD is also amazing. The New Line Platinum Series has never disappointed me (I have Blade, Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, Willard and now Freddy Vs. Jason in my collection)and this time we have a 2-disc set full of extras. There are widescreen and fullscreen versions of the movie, a great commentary by Roony Yu, Ken Kirzinger and Robert Englund (Englund obviously being the highlight of the commentary), 19 deleted/extended scenes including an alternate opening/ ending, production and special effects featurettes and behind the scenes footage, theatrical trailers, TV spots, DVD-Rom features, and 3 Easter Eggs. The deleted scenes are cool yet I'm glad they were cut out and the production documentaries on the fight choreography and direction of the film are very interesting.
Anyway, I reccomend this DVD to any horror fan. Keep in mind this movie is for TRUE HORROR FANS because the timid or violence-hating crowd will HATE this movie. If you watch this movie you will understand that only the most hardcore of horror fans will enjoy this, but maybe not. Go ahead and try it. It just may surprise you, for it sure did surprise me. "Freddy Vs. Jason", "28 Days Later" and "Willard" were the best horror movies of 2003. And you won't have to be worried about Freddy while watching it, for the action won't have you falling asleep! Just turn off the lights, turn on the stereo, grab some popcorn, hug your girl/ boyfriend tightly and witness the ULTIMATE slasher and perfect date movie :)----- "Freddy Vs. Jason".

1, 2 Freddy's coming for you..... 3, 4 Better lock your door..... 5, 6 Grab your crucifix.... 7, 8 Better stay up late..... 9, 10 Never sleep again.....

Summary: "I've been away from my children for far too long..."
Review: Forget Tyson and Lewis; this is the big show. The big event that every horror fan has dreamt of is finally here. Two legends duke it out to claim their glory in high body-counts. The world isn't big enough for these two monsters, so they will have to fight until only of them walks away victorious. While this is no Shakespearian masterpiece (nor is it trying to be one) and the movie tends to go over-the-top at times, "Freddy Vs. Jason" is a complete blast for those who are looking for one hell of an entertaining time.

The people of Elm Street have finally found a way to get rid of Freddy Krueger for good. They've erased him from their memories. Any evidence or witnesses to his bloodshed have been done away with or locked up; thus, making Krueger powerless. As a sign of desperation, Freddy calls upon another legend killer; Jason Voorhees. With Jason back from the grave and going back to his murderous ways, Freddy knows that the people of Elm Street will suspect that it is his doing and will be afraid once again; for it is their fear he craves and lives on. The only problem is once Freddy set Jason loose, there's no stopping him. Jason is killing all of Freddy's children and sparing none for him. Well, Freddy is not going to take that lying down. Freddy decides it is time to put the bad boy down for good, leading to the ultimate showdown between the two legendary monsters.

It's impossible for this movie to please everybody, but I for one must confess that I absolutely LOVED this movie. This is because I accept it for what it is. Being a huge Freddy fan, I knew exactly what it was going to be. In fact, the movie went as far as to even surprise me with a clever and workable plot. While it takes the film some time to get into the background story (which is really cool to see the beginnings of these two maniac killers; especially Freddy's start) and character development, once these two colossal giants go one-on-one, it is a sight to see. There is some incredible fighting between the two that was very unexpected. The acting in the movie isn't fantastic, but it works for what it is trying to accomplish. You don't need excellent acting in this kind of a movie; you just need acting that is at least bearable. I found it more than that and was pretty pleased with the end results. Freddy and Jason are the two show-stoppers that really makes everything work. Kudos to Robert Englund for being able to rise to the occasion of playing a marvelous "Freddy" for all of these years. He hasn't lost his touch.

One of the big complaints about this film from people is talks of there being no winner. Without giving away the ending, I will go on the record and say there absolutely is a winner. It's undeniable that the ending leaves room for a second round, no doubt; however, there is most certainly a winner by the end of the film (think of it more like a round in boxing). I think the ending is more than suitable--this referring to the exact final shot. I'm sure some people are upset with how it ended, but I thought it ended on a fine note.

This two-disc DVD set has some pretty cool extras within it. First off, the picture quality is breath-taking and crystal clear while the sound is excellent. The DVD offers both widescreen and fullscreen versions of the movie. Extras included are deleted scenes, commentary, trailers, a music video, some cool DVD-ROM features, and much more. A pretty impressive package for a movie like this, I must admit.

"Freddy Vs. Jason" isn't looking to win Oscars, nor is it here for enlightenment. It is here for us horror fans, and for us Freddy/Jason fans. If you think the previous movies are stupid, then you will most likely think this one is as well. If you're a fan of the past movies, then chances of you enjoying this flick are very great. Just keep two things in mind: Don't let hype consume you, and allow yourself to make up your own mind in the end. This was a very entertaining chapter in the Freddy/Jason saga that I will be sure to watch over and over again. What could've been a terrible disaster ends up being a grand and gory entertaining time.
